Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Ratings and Reviews
Normally great, but not tonight! We have been to Columbia several times. It is one of the places that we look forward to visiting when we are in town and go to Disney. The food is consistently good and it did not fail on this visit. Service was terrible and our table was not the best either as we were in a back corner behind the music. The drinks were slow to come; the food was so slow in coming; and then to pay took a long time. Had we not been before, we would not be coming back.
Thoroughly enjoyable venue for Valentine's Day. With tapas of baked scallops, a shared salad, and the delicious bread, we ate less than half our main course. (Up side was that the take-home portion served as an additional meal). Portion of paella was easiiy enough for two (although waiter said it was individual); arroz caldoso con mariscos was tasty but a bit salty. Sangria made at the table was novel but nothing outstanding. Excellent service, waiter very professional and knowledgeable. Loved the ambiance.
This is the second time in a row that the service was horrible and they seat at the end of the bar the forbidden place the waiter was horrible he acknowledge once or twice our expectations for Columbia is much better than that so I will think twice coming back sad because it was one of my favorite dinning place 😔😡
It was okay, but not worth what they charge. The hostess was grumpy and not very accommodating. We made a reservation and requested a booth but when we arrived they said it would be 1 hr for our booth. We decided to take a table but my 12 yr old was seated in an uncomfortable seat so we were not happy. 10 minutes later, someone with a booth left so we requested to be moved.
The hostess moved us but seemed to be upset about doing so. They were making comments under their breath. It was unnecessary. If they had told us from the beginning that the wait would only be 10 minutes, we would have just waited. Our waiter was excellent and that what made me give this place two stars. The food had no flavor, the alcoholic cocktails were too sugary and the hostess was in a bad mood and not accommodating. It was way to expensive for what we got. I would not recommend it and I would not go back.
Valentine’s Day lunch and they seated us near the kitchen door and the end of the bar. Think they tried to cram too many people in the main room instead of using other rooms that were empty. Wine was not as advertised on the menu....it had an acidy finish that I don’t like...menu said it had a low tannin and sweet finish. Waitress was not able to return to our table to refill waters. Food was good. They usually do better than this.
I love this restaurant. We’ve been many times and have always enjoyed the whole experience. This time, however, I can’t say that. Our server (Alma) had on so much fragrance that we couldn’t even taste our food for the smell. Whether at our table or one close by we could only taste/smell her over powering fragrance. Unfortunately it took away a lot from our dining experience. We didn’t want service even when we needed something because of the smell.
Had a friend visiting from TN so 2 other friends and I decided to take her to Celebration to see it. 2 of us had eaten at a Columbia @ Siesta Keys and really enjoyed it. The friend visiting has a daughter-in-law that is from Cuba so I thought since my friend enjoys her cooking she would enjoy your place of business. We are from The Villages. We did enjoy the pitcher of Sangria and of course the salad and several tapas. Thought for the price we could have more than the 4 small glasses of wine but other than that it was very good and we enjoyed eating outside on a beauitful day. Thank you, we will be back.
Just an awesome restaurant all the way around. Love everything about it. The food is wonderful. Service is outstanding. You have to try the sangria made table side. Red is the best. Parking at this location is a little hard but doable. Don't let that stop you from trying it.
Met a friend for a special lunch. Made a reservation and had no issues. Service was painfully slow. Estimate it was 15 minutes before someone came for our drink order. We gave lunch order at same time and Server was clearly confused when vegetarian asked for no ham on salad and I wanted ham on mine. Another Server stepped in to make the salads but no ham on either. Our server never checked back on us and had to be flagged down to pay. Food was excellent however.
