Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Ratings and Reviews
We were very disappointed with the hostess desk. We had a reservation we had made 24 hours in advance. We arrived at 1:35 for a 1:45 reservation and was informed that we would not be seated until 1:45. We did not ask to be seated immediately. At 1:50 I went back to desk after seeing 5 parties of walk ins seated immediately. They acted like I was being a bother and told me they would get a table set up for us. Reminded them reservation for 5 people. At 2pm I went back to hostess table and they said they were working on our table. We were seated a few minutes later as I stood at the desk since we were 15 minutes past our reservation. We were seated at a table for four place settings but we squeezed all 5 adults into this both. Very unprofessional and the manager needs to look into this.
The best part is we had an excellent server and food but very poor hostess duties by all working at the desk on 1/21/18 between 1:35 and 2pm at the Celebration location
Columbia restaurant is always good. I've been to 3 of their locations in the past, and have previously eaten at the Celebration location . This time for some reason the host staff sat us in the bar area. We followed, but the bar staff were setting up and making noise. It wasn't where we wanted to sit. We asked to sit in the main dining room, and they resat us. It wasn't the beginning to a great meal that we usually have. Once we were seated we had the great experience we usually have and attentive wait staff. The food was outstanding, and my vegan grandson was brought a menu guide to help with his selections.
If you want to get away from the typical, overpriced tourist trap type restaurants, choose Columbia. The cuisine and wine were divine and the location of the restaurant is perfect: on a small lake surrounded by shops (macaroons, ice cream, boutiques, etc). We were visiting from Chicago and this restaurant kept pace with some of my downtown favorites!
We’ve been to this and several other Columbia restaurants. Since 1990 if there is a Columbia there we are there. Lately we fee like they are more interested in getting people in and out and care nothing about quality of food or service. In Sarasota a few months ago and now here over the weekend. Our drinks and salad delivered at same time and not 1/2 thru salad and dinner was brought. Veal had been cooked earlier Abd was dry and cold the chicken and rice was a wing and thigh. I can say for fast food in and out in 1/2 hour not bad. For a relaxing evening out find somewhere else
I am from Virginia but a regular at several of the locations when in Central FL. Authentic Spanish menu, family owned and consistently good. With all the tourist attractions, the Celebration location has less of a family feel but excellent none the less. Extensive menu options, good portions and at reasonable pricing.
We had a party of four. Both my wife and I had been numerous times previously. Both of our dinners were plates we’d ordered previously, but they weren’t as good this visit as they were other visits. Our other two both liked their meals, but they had no previous experience with which to compare.
Meeting with friends at the Columbia was a treat. Servers were most attentive. Food was very good. Nice ambiance. It was very empty at 11:45 but by 1:30 it was packed inside and out. Cute little store area inside as well. Enjoyable place to be able to visit with friends.
Overall great experience- our only complaint is that we had to keep tracking down our waitress for refills of water and, had she asked or come around more frequently, we would have ordered another bottle of wine. Other than that, it was perfect. Food was amazing!
I've been here a number of times and this was the first time I was disappointed. The food was good, but my mojito was not good at all and it is my favorite drink at Colombia. I'm not sure the waiter reaaly knew how to make it. I was also disappointed that I made the reservation almost 2 weeks early and we were seated in the bar area rather than the main dining room. I will go back again but will be more aware of my server and where I am seated. By the way, one of my guests got hit by a flying salad spoon and it appeared to be a big joke and there was no apology or even and "are you ok?".
Our service was excellent..my food was good but my husband felt his Cuban was just like a cold cut sub...our friend picked at her shredded pork and it looked dry..I loved my yellow rice and 1905 salad..my Amarillo steak was dry...my red sangria was ok...my friend seemed to enjoy her white one...
