Columbia Restaurant - Celebration Ratings and Reviews
Columbia has always been one of my favorite Celebration, Florida restaurants but this visit was disappointing. We had 6:45 reservations (arrived at 6:30) but were not seated until after 7:15. Our Waiter was stretched between several tables and our simple group of three often felt totally forgotten. We ordered their famous sangria which is typically mixed tableside. Ours was mixed elsewhere and simply brought to us. My dining companions said their steak was good. My baked fish (which I have enjoyed several times on past visits) was oily and tasteless and the green vegetables were so woody they were not eatable. When I mentioned the quality of the vegatables to our waiter he literally shrugged his shoulders. Cheesecake desert was good. Overall a SAD experience. This was to be a Christmas celebration dinner with friends but I will think twice before I return.
I thought the food was good, but the place had the feel of a fast food dining experience. For me, that's like an Olive Garden. I was expecting to be blown away by the black bean soup and the shrimp dish I ordered, but everything was just okay, and that's fine. Expected tremendous bread, but it was just hot, which is good. Hot bread is always good. Servers were very polite. In and out of there in under an hour. Well organized staff, they have it down to a T. Gotta serve those tourists. I won't visit again, but it's a really fine place.
My husband and I traveled to Disney World for a quick weekend trip and Columbia was recommended to us by a friend. It was a short drive and so worth it. Celebration is beautiful! Columbia has wonderful dishes and five star service. Try the “1905” salad...it’s prepared table side and the dressing is delicious. The sangria and churros are also amazing. Can’t wait to go back!
The staff was less than enthusiastic from the moment we walked in the door. Ignored that I told them it was an open table reservation and were just rude. Wait staff was slow despite our plea to help us get through quickly to catch a flight. Not nearly the experience we have enjoyed at the Ybor and St Augustine locations.
This is a restaurant that has its act together. The hosts and waitstaff were professional adlnd friendly. We had to call to let them know we'd be 10 minutes late and when we arrived frazzled they were lovely. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and friendly and came to the table the appropriate number of times without asking questions after wed just taken a mouthful of food! Food were absolutely delicious and of course the bread...amazing. We go to "Columbia" as a treat and it never disappoints!
Excellent timing for reservations seated right at reserved time. The restaurant was very busy which made it even more impressive. Service could have be better. Was very slow. Soup was excellent. Bread excellent. All other food was very good except for steak. The sauce reduction was very salty, when scraped off steak was very tender and flavorful. Improve service time and use less salt.
despite being busy (and we were running late due to traffic) the kept our table and dealt with us very promptly. Meal and cocktails we fair value for money, service was good, food quality very good. Have rec. to friends and family already as one of the better places we have eaten in in Florida.
We enjoyed our favorite meal at our favorite Florida restaurant. The pollo riojana was not hot and the cheese topping was not fully melted. The salad which is made tableside was delicious and so was the fresh crusty bread.
We didn’t have room for dessert and took half the meal home.
Dessert looked yummy and included flan, key lime pie and a white chocolate bread pudding.
We dined outside since it was warm and it looked pretty with Christmas lights up.
The service was great but it would have been nice to have a candle on our table as was in all the other ones.
We were here on a bustling Thanksgiving evening, and seated immediately in the dining room adjacent to the bar. This was our first time at this particular Columbia location, service was attentive and gracious despite it being packed. We all had the thanksgiving prix fixe menu, large portions and everything was delicious. We almost didn't have room for the tasty pumpkin flan.
We went to the Columbia for Thanksgiving dinner. The outside dining was very nice, the server was just ok. Seemed like he didn't want to be there. But the food was disappointing. The signature salad was exception and made table side. Our seafood and beef (garlic shrimp and filet kabobs) with rice and daily vegetables; the shrimp and rice was good, the beef was tough with tendons throughout, cooked too rare when we ordered medium, the rice was good but the carrots were previously frozen, watery and tasted nasty. When we told the server he just had a gesture as if he didn't care.
About 2 weeks prior we ate at the Columbia in St. Augustine which was exceptional
It is hard to imagine that the Columbia outdid itself for Thanksgiving (our 6th in a row) but they did: the food was absolutely sublime and the service equally glorious! This restaurant is truly a treasure and we always look forward to eating there. The Columbia is a rare touch of magnificence in the midst of dreary "nothing special." Don't miss it!!
We were promptly seated at a pleasant table by a window. We ordered crab cakes. They were tasty but a little mushier than expected and the sauce should have had more flavor. The gazpacho was made better with a few drops of hot sauce. The Caesar salad was bland and unremarkable. I’m not a fan of snapper but the preparation with artichokes, palm hearts and dried tomatoes was flavorful. The chicken salteado was also pretty good. The servings were huge so there was no room for dessert.
This is our favorite Orlando restaurant. We love the chopped tomatoes and onions (to share). The dressing is delicious and the tomatoes are always flavorful in any season. The Cuban black bean soup and the gazpacho soup are also outstanding. We’ve tried several entrees and liked all of them. Portions are large and everyone gets a large piece of crusty bread.
