Sorry but you guys at Open Table need to update your information. Colterra had a big fire and has been closed now since mid-October and will be closed until repairs/rebuilding is complete. This will take until approximately Easter of 2018.

Our group went on a quiet night and enjoyed a leisurely paced meal and attentive service with a noise level that permitted easy conversation. Menu offers something for all diners and the food was prepared excellently. The wine list, however, is a bit pricey, with limited lower cost range.

We enjoy Colterra and have dined there several times over the past few years. We especially like their Ahi tuna entree This time however, the portions were smaller and it didn't have the sesame crust we've had in the past. Disappointing. The tuna is considered a small plate for $20/ In the past, we remember it being $23, large and encrusted with sesame seeds. Please bring back the Ahi with the sesame seeds! Otherwise, the salads are wonderful and the desserts are average to better. The ambiance is lovely and in the summer you can sit outside on their patio.

I and my guests thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Colterra. I hadn't eaten here for a while and tThe food was just as good as ever. My guests had the short ribs and I had the lamb T-bones. I will definitely return soon.

Colterra is always amazing! The food is great And they have first class wine list. My wife and I look forward to getting away to Colterra for our anniversary and other special occasions.

The food was excellent, even for a foodie town such as Boulder. It is out in Niwot about 20 mintues away. A nice charming place in the old part of town. Not manufactured.
I had the almond crusted Alaskan Halibut and it was fresh, light, and perfectly cooked. My ceasar with the option of anchovies was delicious. All of our items were exquisite except the diner who had the lamb that said it was good, but not great. Deserts were way too heavy on cream sauces for our taste, the French influence took over and it was either apply with cream sauces or some chocolate desert that was not described except for the multiple cream sauces. Service was good but not the level for the fine dining. All in all the food was top notch and I would go back, hopefully the deserts and meat items improve slightly.

We have always had a great experience at Colterra. It's a great place for a special occasion or when looking for a nice evening out. Food is always awesome and the service is great - attentive but not overbearing. We've recommended it to friends and will continue to return.

We have eaten at Colterra several times over the years. The meals were always outstanding until the other night. Two of us had the seafood risotto. The seafood was either previously frozen or over cooked and the risotto was like runny rice. One had the Bolognese and found it quite ordinary. And one had the lamb dish and was pleased. The warm beet salad and the warmed brie salads were better than the entrees.

We went on a date and I hate to give a mediocre review, but we were underwhelmed. The food was ok. I ordered the beet salad, and it was not good. They used pickled beets, the menu should have stated that instead of roasted (it was clear they were not roasted). The carpaccio had a serving of greens in the middle that appeared out of place. The server was ok, unfortunately he was making me uncomfortable because he was a "lurker"
We have always loved Colterra, however this may have been our last visit, as I would prefer to spend our money on better food and service

Our go to place for our anniversary and other special occasions. Always delicious and always excellent service and ambience. The mussels are a favorite, as is the beat salad. We always split two entrees or an entree and a 'small plate'
This is one of the best restaurants in the Boulder area if you want to get away for a quiet evening. We feel like we are off on a vacation when we go. Not inexpensive, but it always feels worth it.

Beef bourguignon was inedible. Saw the lady at the next table send hers back only minutes after I ordered mine (and she opted not to order anything new). I was comped a new meal, but it came out only after my husband was done eating. His seafood risotto was okay, but fairly small, with seemingly little risotto to seafood ratio. Another woman at the other table next to us sent her fish back for being too salty. She also got a new meal, but her companion had finished eating by then. Server was great, but she could only do so much to remedy our experience, given all of the problems with the food. Very disappointing experience overall for such a highly rated and relatively expensive restaurant. It was a Monday, so maybe the "B Team" was in the kitchen?

Colterra’s is a favorite, and we have been dining there since it opened 11 years ago. We live in Fort Collins and drive there several times a year to have lunch or dinner. We have never been disappointed and appreciate their consistency in providing excellent food and service. In fact, we think it just keeps getting better. We love introducing friends to their restaurant. They always enjoy it. We especially love eating on the stone patio under the canopy of trees and beautiful garden when weather permits. The food is farm to fork, locally sourced, fresh and innovative. Many of their dishes we find as the “best ever.” Two recent examples would be the Nicoise salad (even better than any we had in France) and their mussels. The sauce was so good, we soaked up every drop with crusty bread. The menu changes frequently to reflect the seasons. They have a nice wine list as well as excellent mixed drinks. The atmosphere is casual, and it is excellent for every-day dining or a special occasion. We enjoy the quiet and cozy atmosphere. Service is friendly, informed and professional.
