The perfect getaway for those who cannot really get away for a long period of time. Lovely surroundings, live entertainment, delicious food, and wonderful servers.
Thank you for all of your special service, great food, and the wonderful entertainment of Tony Cerbo. This great combination has really made our summer fantastic!! We look forward to the remainder of the summer evenings this season as well as the years ahead!
Dining at the Colonel Blackinton Inn on the summer patio is like being away at a perfect idyllic paradise. The food is great, the ambiance is spectacular, and the music is so special. We really enjoy the very talented and rich voice of Tony Cerbo on Tuesday evenings.
Bernie our server was outstanding and extremely knowledgeable and very personable. Didn't make us feel rushed and answered all our questions.
Every last detail was superb. Service was spot on. The food was excellent.
It is always phenomenal
We sat on the patio to listen to Gaye Barboza. It was a cool evening with a blue sky & moon shining bright. A lovely evening was had with the best waiter Bernard, excellent food, music & ambiance! We enjoyed the Cajun red snapper special & ribeye! Yum!
My wife and I are regular patrons of Blackinton and this was the first time we were disappointed. We both ordered the sirloin. My wife ordered her sirloin medium rare to rare while I ordered mine medium rare. Both arrived over cooked to medium at best. Not even pink. I have a broader tolerance of cooking temperature so we only sent back my wife's sirloin. In retrospect we should have sent both back since the event was a celebration of my birthday but found ourselves eating separately. The server agreed immediately that it was over cooked and was gracious and apologetic. The restaurant did indeed take her entree off the bill. As I said, this was the first time we were ever disappointed. My birthday was on a Monday so I am guessing the Monday chef may not be the executive chef. We will stay away from Monday's.
Server very attentive and knowledgeable, very accommodating when one guest requested modification to a dinner special . Food served hot cooked to order and generous portions. We were not rushed during our meal which allowed us time to enjoy this special time together, the great food and fantastic atmosphere
We have been here many times and the drinks and service were wonderful as always! Sadly I must say I was severely disappointed in the food this time. The special menu was all seafood Which seems a mistake in itself. Only seafood with no non-seafood options...? ultimately I ordered the red snapper which was sub-par for the Colonel. It seemed rubbery and overcooked and was nothing like a high class red snapper should be served. This being mine and my wife's anniversary dinner I cared more that she was happy with her Fra Diavolo and Creme Brule which she said was amazing as always.
We have never been disappointed with this restaurant. The food is excellent... there is not another place nearby that comes close to it. Our server, Olga, was the best. Attentive and efficient. Finished with an after dinner drink at the bar. Friendly!
Always enjoyable.
Pre fix menu is a great value
Quiet enjoyable atmosphere.
Outside dinning is beautiful with all the flowers.
Took an elderly aunt out to lunch. Reservation was for 1 PM so it was mostly after the noontime rush. She said it was the nicest place she has been in years and while she said initially she would take 1/2 of her meal home she ate the whole thing, including dessert. Service was efficient and unhurried. She can't wait to go back and we always go back 4 or 5 times per year as we live about 40 minutes away.
Perfection! Excellent food, service and the setting is lovely!
My husband and I celebrated our 32nd anniversary at Colonel Blackinton. Bernard was our waiter and he took very good care of us! The food was delicious and the small rooms with only 4 tables in a room makes it a romantic setting.
Fabulous food, fresh and delicious. Great early specials!! Will definitely go again!
Even have a gluten free menu!
Service was good. Food was good. Parmesean risotto was mush with no flavor.
Presentation was lacking. Girls at checkin seemed annoyed and not welcoming.
Colonel Blackinton is always on our list for fine dining. On this visit we had a terrific server. All of the courses were brought out quickly and very good.
I was upset that my request for a pastry for my for wifes birthday at the end of the meal was not handled as I wished.
THE INN IS A COLLECTION OF SMALL ROOMS WITH THREE OR FOUR TABLES PER ROOM. UNFORTUNATELY THE CHOSE TO ASSEMBLE ENOUGH SMALL TABLES TOGETHER IN ONE ROOM TO ACCOMODATE A LARGE PARTY OF TWELVE IN A VERY SMALL SPACE WHICH LEFT ONLY TWO OTHER TABLES IN THE SAME ROOM ;OUR PARTY OF FOUR AND ANOTHER PARTY OF THREE WERE UNLUCKY ENOUGH TO BE SEATED AT THE SMALLER TABLES. THE PARTY OF TWELVE TURNED OUT TO BE CELEBRATING A BIRTHDAY WITH ALL OF THE NOISE CAMERA WORK AND DRINK SERVICE REQUIRED. WE COULD NOT HEAR EACH OTHER ACROSS THE TABLE AND EVEN THOUGH THE FOOD WAS AS GOOD AS ALWAYS AND THE SERVICE DID NOT SUFFER WE COULD NOT ENJOY OUR VISIT. WHEN WE GO TO A HIGH END RESTAURANT OF THIS CALIBER WE EXPECT A MUCH MORE CONSIDERED EFFORT ON THE PART OF MANAGEMENT WHEN THEY ACCEPT A PARTY AS LARGE AS THAT. OUR MOTHERS DAY OUTING WAS NOWHERE NEAR AS ENJOYABLE AS IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN .
Quaint historical feel - lots of different rooms, comfy chairs and good food. It wasn't terribly busy but the service was soooo slow. A brunch for 4 took like 40 minutes to make and it was just french toast and eggs...nothing elaborate. We ended up being at the restaurant for almost 2 hours - too long for breakfast but the food was good.
Another great Saturday Nighy meal! Can't find one single item to say that needs improvement. All around great meal and service. Can't wait till you start your nightly summer entertainment. Please post the schedule soon!
We celebrated our anniversary and had a wonderful dining experience! The food was wonderful and very tasty! The desserts were yummy!
It is such an adorable place to go for a special occasion!
We originally made a reservation for three for the Friday night before Mother's Day, then were hoping to add two additional people. I called the restaurant, they suggested the alcove area overlooking the outdoor patio, which was perfect. We truly had a wonderful dinner, celebrating Mother's Day. Thank you.
Impressed from previous dinners at the Colonel Blackinton, I made reservations for a special birthday dinner. The room was very loud from the noise of a large party in our room and then followed up by another smaller party that was even louder. While our meal was very good, we sat down at 6:30 and didn't get our check until 8:30 for a party of two! Very, very slow. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. I'm not sure why it took so long for the food to arrive from the kitchen as it was a Sunday evening and only moderately busy. Based on the reputation and quality of the restaurant, I was surprised that there was no recognition of our special occasion.
this is my favorite restaurant. The food is excellent, Bernard is one of, if not the best , server, attentive to your every need, Kim makes you feel special and appreciated. To me, there are only two restaurants in the U.S; Colonel Blackinton, and all the rest
Colonel Blackinton has great service, ambience, and delicious food. We were celebrating my husband's birthday, and the waitress was very attentive. We were able to take our time and enjoy each course. The homemade bread is delicious!! Thank you for a great evening.
This was our second visit to Colonel Blackinton's to celebrate special occasions. The service was excellent, and portions very large. Food was well prepared and very good. Three of us had the pan-seared walnut salmon, and one of us had chicken parmigiana. All portions were very generous.
The atmosphere is elegant but relaxed, and it was very quiet in the back room by the fireplace.
All in all, a very pleasant atmosphere and good food. We're looking forward to visiting when it's warm enough to have a drink outside.
Totally enjoyable and relaxing dining experience we have had in a long time. Service was excellent Chef was totally accommodating to special dietary needs. My dinner came out over cooked , I sent it back It came back perfect it a fresh dish. Will definitely go back. 5+ stars.
Ordered an appetizer and two main dishes. The only complain was my glass of wine came from the bottom of the bottle. Food portions were good as it served for lunch the next day.
Food was great ! Service was pretty good not exceptional I've had exceptional at blackinton before
Brunch was soooooooo good!!!!
Either the staff was short some people or the wait staff was not up to their normal standard. Several items ordered did not come when they were supposed to or had to be asked for. Highly unusual for this restaurant.
All four meals were very good. The prime rib was a bit fatty but tasted rich and moist. The waitress was attentive and explained the specials clearly. The service was prompt and efficient. The noise level was a tad loud but the rooms are so small it would be difficult to overcome that.
We like that they now offer large/smaller portions on some of the menu items. This enables you to have both an appetizer and a main course without ordering too much food. Iggi's bread always fabulous!
Blackington is a great place with wonderful food, service and ambiance. !!!!!!!
Another wonderful dining experience. If you are looking for that "special" place to have an elegant dinner, the Colonel Blackinton Inn is the perfect spot! The menu is fabulous - something for everyone! I love the décor and the "inn" appeal. I am also looking forward to the outdoor patio dining with live entertainment beginning in June.
Had the filet mignon. It was excellent. Cooked perfectly. Great atmosphere. Good service.
Excellent service.
