Colombo's Italian Steakhouse & Jazz Club
I love this place. It’s like stepping back in time. The martinis come with little shakers. The garlic toast appears and then disappears along with a martini. And they have live music which is always great and never obtrusive. And always check out the specials, they are usually one of the best deals on the menu.
Absolutely love Colombo's! So do our friends! Everything is wonderful about Colombo's!
Sunday night we ate in the same room as the advertising man who even does the radio commercials.
Really nice guy. Can't wait to come back for all the trimmings!
I love the house Cab wine. The best!
Music every night. Great place to have drinks and meet up with friends and co workers
I’ve gone to Columbo’s for years and have recently noticed that the food and service quality have slipped. This most recent visit was awful. The server was disinterested and did not know the menu. I was overcharged on the bill with two items I never ordered. When asked, the waiter blamed it on the busboy. Worse, my dining companion and I got sick in the middle of the night. There were also too many babies and young children who were screaming, killing the ambience. I don’t plan on returning. That’s sad, as this place has been a local institution for many decades.
I like the old school feel of this place, but my NY Strip steak was the toughest, chewiest, piece of meat I have ever been served. I kept trying to find a section that was chewable, but It was impossible to eat at least half of it. We were there early and the dining room was empty, but the bar was full, with at least one person there swearing loudly. We could hear this clearly from our table. My friend went to the restroom and passed by the servers/kitchen area and heard one of the staff swearing loudly there as well. I'm not against swearing, but I don't want to pay to hear it during my meal. The reason I would not return, however, is due to the very poor cut of meat I was served.
We came for our first dinner experience after an AM 870 Town Hall gathering on October 6, 2019. We chose Colombo’s because the restaurant is advertised on AM 870 and we were duly impressed by the taste and quality of the food. The service was attentive and the prices were minimal compared to the quantity and quality of the food. The jazz band was a nice accompaniment to our delicious meal. We will be back. Thank you, Colombo’s!
Took my wife out for a date night. The service was lengthy. The food was meh. There are just far too many places closer to me with better food and service for me to go back.
We love this place and will always want to return. It was "energetic" on the noise level but that has its charm - lots of fun and great music. We really enjoyed our food and we liked our server. It was just a very busy night with so many birthdays that he was needed on many fronts. However, the overall experience was very positive and can't wait to go back!
Always awesome here. Music is the icing on the cake.
I took my girlfriend out for dinner and some light jazz. Columbo was crowded but we arrived early.
We were both hungry so it didn’t take long to order, but it took forever to get our food. Thank goodness we both ordered salads because each main course took almost 45 minutes.
The service was terrible!! I had to get up and go find my waiter and ask for more ice water 3 times and more bread twice. I love it when your server pays attention to detail!
My girlfriend had to send her food back because it wasn’t the correct order.
The music was nice, elevator music...not real jazz. Overall we made the best of it, but I don’t see myself going again.
My friend enjoyed her Porterhouse Steak so much. Our first time there. Lots of large shrimp in my scampi.
Music was great, food wasn’t as requested, waitress too busy
Food was very good. Music was enjoyable. Service need improvement - a couple of items were forgotten by our server.
This is a fun place. Throwback to supper clubs of yore. Candles and lamps on the tables, banquettes and food that is delicious and traditional. The entertainment is delightful. The service is prompt and gracious. We enjoyed our birthday celebration.
Why a family restaurant would allow Fox News to play in their bar on three giant TV screens is beyond me. I'm sorry but there's no way to enjoy one's food when Tucker Carlson and that other fascist are bloviating about the Orange Cheetoh. The food is mediocre at best. Our entrees took about twenty minutes too long to arrive. The salad had the acrid taste of canned olives. The blue cheese dressing was watery. The Beef ravioli, which used to be pretty good was grim, too salty and lacked depth. The ravioli themselves were undercooked, almost crunchy in texture. The garlic bread was old, stale and dry as sand. The water at least was wet, but beyond that, we will probably never be going back. Let me reiterate: Never go to a restaurant where they play fascist television.
Colombo’s food and ambiance is always excellent. Service on thee other hand is inconsistent. The busboy does a better job. I understand it can get hectic, but not to the point that we get ignored. I had mentioned it was a special occasion when I made the reservation, and it was never brought up.
Always enjoy the old-school dinner-club vibe of Columbo's and our last trip was no different, but it seems like they've actually kicked the food up a notch. Recommend sitting in the dining room with the live music if at all possible. The ambiance of the live music is half the charm of this place. Great value, great ambiance, good food as well!
This old school restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere. We loved the piano player. The food was good. Our only issue is the kitchen was really back up and it took almost an hour to get our food. Still, we will be back.
Colombo is a unique restaurant. The ambiance is formal but very relaxed, cheery and friendly with people of all ages enjoying themselves. The music is exceptional. Every night there is a talented pianist playing and singing wonderful and classic musical hits. The food is excellent, reasonable in price and there is a wide selection of Italian specialties. I love there special garlic bread rolls, too.
Loved the live music and 7 yo daughter had a great time too! Perfect mid-week choice.
One of my favorite places in LA. Great food, service, and price. Our waitress was phenomenal. Live music ended the evening which was a great surprise. Love it here!
Great food and experience!
First time and didn't gof very well. The venue is nice and live music is enjoyable.
My problem was with the food.
The Brushetta was great and the apple salad was good. The Porterhouse steak I asked for Med-rare more on the Medium side, it came out super rare.
Also, the plate wasn't hot, the steak wasn't super hot and the spinach side wasnt hot either. First time a steak house served me a steak with a non Hot plate and not hit side dish. I just wanted to finish and leave.
Food was cold when it arrived at table and it was a very busy night so they seemed short staffed.
The service was really good. The food was just ok. My spaghetti dinner with sausage was cold and the garlic bread was the worse I have ever had.
Great atmosphere. The live music and the decor really transport you to a different place for a while. Food is outstanding.
So fun and yummy. We always go when there is live music
The food and entertainment were good but the waitress was slow and would disappear for long periods of time. She also did not get our order correct.
For the prices I expected a nicer facility. Parking was impossible.
Love the food and entertainment. Great shaken Manhattans! Always a pleasure to spend an evening at Colombo's.
Always enjoy the live music while dining.
I never went to this establishment.
From the valet who parked my car to the lady that served us (Bri) it was an excellent evening and the food was very good. We can hardly wait to go back.
We had a birthday dinner celebration that was outstanding with the great food, music, and service. Thanks!!
Great food. Loud Blues/jazz, but we expect that!
Got there early, had a few drinks, ordered some appetizers. Our service was good. The food was good.
Over all, the evening was enjoyable.
Lovely, charming ambiance. Food and drinks were good. The service really put a damper on things.
Wilted lettuce. Watery shrimp scampi. Old tasting filet mignon
Love love love columbos! Everything about it... From the service to the music to the food it's just our go-to place
It's kind of an old dive place. The bread was a disappointment, the linguini and clams was ok, as was the scampi. Just not enough flavor (garlic) or otherwise. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great!
It was a very pleasant experience. The musician on the piano was very good. The food was delicious. The atmosphere was in the funky-old-dark restaurant style, but it was what we wanted. Sometimes you just need that. :-)
