Colombo's Italian Steakhouse & Jazz Club
Colombo was such a great discovery we will be back often, very nice place, one of the best dirty vodka martinis ever made by Frank. My salmon was excellent, my wife's linguini w clam was mediocre but it didn't matter the jazz band 'Trifecta' was excellent, we felt bad that most people weren't paying attention to them. We will be back and made Colombo one of our regular stops.
An old school family restaurant. Good service, delicious menu selections, lively jazz music.
I love this place so, so much. It's one of the few authentic classic restaurants in Eagle Rock. The big red booths, friendly staff, great live music, and terrific cocktails add up to a special, yet comfortable and neighborly, night out. Love it!
Food was great and the music was chill!
What can I say about Colombo's it's just simply the place for great food, great ambiance, and the jazz band Trifecta is simply amazing.
I've always loved this place and I've been coming here since I was a kid however made reservations only to have our table given away.. the hostess tried to seat us at this at a table where literally there was no elbow room, sandwiched between two other tables. It took us 15 minutes to even get water, The service leaves a lot to be desired. On the bright side the food was great and the value is good as well.
We love Colombo's! This is our go-to Italian neighborhood restaurant. My favorite dish on the menu is the chicken parmigiana.
They never disappoint! Great music, tasty food, solid drinks
One of favorite places to go in LA! So old school cool with delicious food! Such a fun vibe.
A bit pricey for a family Sunday lunch.....A fix price menu would be ideal.
Excellent customer service, delicious food, great drinks....nice ambiance. The live music adds to a great experience at Colombo’s
We love COLOMBOS Mariah and Bree are just our favorite wait and bar staff.... always makes a perfect relaxed evening . Thank you .
I took my adult grandson there for a late morning breakfast. There were a few matters we needed to discuss and needed a quiet location for the two of us to talk. The restaurant served that purpose vet well. However, the food was not as comforting as we had hoped. We will not be back for breakfast, but may try another meal later in a day.
The jazz is a much appreciated bonus, especially when it's present 7 days a week.
The best place in the world for a celebration! Best live music!
This old school restaurant is fun and boisterous. Our waitress was excellent as were all the other staff we encountered. We all ordered Italian food, not steaks. The lasagna was really different - never had one like it before. It was good but it’s not your ‘standard’ lasagna. The full size chicken Parmesan was very generous in size - almost enough for two people. And the spaghetti bolognese was good but we had to ask for extra sauce. The waitress told us the bolognese sauce was outstanding. I would say it was more or less, pretty good. Remember this is NOT the place for quiet conversation - even without the music it is very noisy. I would go again if in the area but I would not make a special trip. I do like these throw back restaurants though, such a nice change from the newer hip places.
Our server was slow to pay attention to our presence. We had a reservation for 6:00 PM., and upon entering, my wife and I were greeted with an admonistion to finish our visit by 8:00PM. I do not recall being told when I had to leave a restaurant before this experience. The food is basic Italian, and fairly bland to taste.
Our absolute favorite go to restaurant for music and Italian food love it
The stuffed eggplant was fantastic as was the music and service. What a great restaurant in Eagle Rock. It’s a rocking place!
The live music with Blue Soul was fantastic. The service provided by Itzel was top notch. The friendliness of the seating staff was wonderful, especially Sophia. Then there was the food, tastefully prepared with ample portions and reasonable prices. The dancing was so much fun. All in all, we love Colombo’s and its staff. You need to make reservations for Friday night as the music attracts a large following. Music starts at 9 PM. Enjoy!!!
Entertainment was way too loud. Service was lax. But a nice vibe overall. Some dishes more successful than others.
Jesse is a kind and charming host who always remembers my elderly moms name and has a professional attitude and a kind demeanor that has her ask me to drive her back for breakfast weekly.
He only works Friday-Sunday which limits how often we go.
Lounge atmosphere, decent food, mid range, family friendly early evening, noise level is higher once music starts. Go early if you want to talk with and hear your dinner companions
We had a fabulous time at Colombo’s. The music was great- service exceptional- wine list very nice, with many value bottles- great retro ambiance. What could be better!
Excellent food and service. The ambiance was perfect. Love the red booths. I had the grilled salmon and pasta and the salmon was cooked perfectly. My husband had the Pomodoro with chicken and it was also very good. We will be coming back!
I love this place. It’s like stepping back in time. The martinis come with little shakers. The garlic toast appears and then disappears along with a martini. And they have live music which is always great and never obtrusive. And always check out the specials, they are usually one of the best deals on the menu.
Absolutely love Colombo's! So do our friends! Everything is wonderful about Colombo's!
Sunday night we ate in the same room as the advertising man who even does the radio commercials.
Really nice guy. Can't wait to come back for all the trimmings!
I love the house Cab wine. The best!
Music every night. Great place to have drinks and meet up with friends and co workers
I’ve gone to Columbo’s for years and have recently noticed that the food and service quality have slipped. This most recent visit was awful. The server was disinterested and did not know the menu. I was overcharged on the bill with two items I never ordered. When asked, the waiter blamed it on the busboy. Worse, my dining companion and I got sick in the middle of the night. There were also too many babies and young children who were screaming, killing the ambience. I don’t plan on returning. That’s sad, as this place has been a local institution for many decades.
I like the old school feel of this place, but my NY Strip steak was the toughest, chewiest, piece of meat I have ever been served. I kept trying to find a section that was chewable, but It was impossible to eat at least half of it. We were there early and the dining room was empty, but the bar was full, with at least one person there swearing loudly. We could hear this clearly from our table. My friend went to the restroom and passed by the servers/kitchen area and heard one of the staff swearing loudly there as well. I'm not against swearing, but I don't want to pay to hear it during my meal. The reason I would not return, however, is due to the very poor cut of meat I was served.
We came for our first dinner experience after an AM 870 Town Hall gathering on October 6, 2019. We chose Colombo’s because the restaurant is advertised on AM 870 and we were duly impressed by the taste and quality of the food. The service was attentive and the prices were minimal compared to the quantity and quality of the food. The jazz band was a nice accompaniment to our delicious meal. We will be back. Thank you, Colombo’s!
Took my wife out for a date night. The service was lengthy. The food was meh. There are just far too many places closer to me with better food and service for me to go back.
We love this place and will always want to return. It was "energetic" on the noise level but that has its charm - lots of fun and great music. We really enjoyed our food and we liked our server. It was just a very busy night with so many birthdays that he was needed on many fronts. However, the overall experience was very positive and can't wait to go back!
Always awesome here. Music is the icing on the cake.
I took my girlfriend out for dinner and some light jazz. Columbo was crowded but we arrived early.
We were both hungry so it didn’t take long to order, but it took forever to get our food. Thank goodness we both ordered salads because each main course took almost 45 minutes.
The service was terrible!! I had to get up and go find my waiter and ask for more ice water 3 times and more bread twice. I love it when your server pays attention to detail!
My girlfriend had to send her food back because it wasn’t the correct order.
The music was nice, elevator music...not real jazz. Overall we made the best of it, but I don’t see myself going again.
My friend enjoyed her Porterhouse Steak so much. Our first time there. Lots of large shrimp in my scampi.
Music was great, food wasn’t as requested, waitress too busy
Food was very good. Music was enjoyable. Service need improvement - a couple of items were forgotten by our server.
This is a fun place. Throwback to supper clubs of yore. Candles and lamps on the tables, banquettes and food that is delicious and traditional. The entertainment is delightful. The service is prompt and gracious. We enjoyed our birthday celebration.
Why a family restaurant would allow Fox News to play in their bar on three giant TV screens is beyond me. I'm sorry but there's no way to enjoy one's food when Tucker Carlson and that other fascist are bloviating about the Orange Cheetoh. The food is mediocre at best. Our entrees took about twenty minutes too long to arrive. The salad had the acrid taste of canned olives. The blue cheese dressing was watery. The Beef ravioli, which used to be pretty good was grim, too salty and lacked depth. The ravioli themselves were undercooked, almost crunchy in texture. The garlic bread was old, stale and dry as sand. The water at least was wet, but beyond that, we will probably never be going back. Let me reiterate: Never go to a restaurant where they play fascist television.
