A nice little restaurant with authentic Italian food. The pasta was delicious and the service was excellent. It was also nice because we had not seen our friends for a long time and I could hear them without any competing noise....quiet and intimate. We'd go back the next time we're in the city.
Lovely neighborhood restaurant. The food is well seasoned and flavorful. My favorite dish was scampi risotto, which had such a nice light sauce and plenty of shrimp. Chianti by the glass was excellent as well. We will be back.
This is a cozy restaurant with only a few tables. The menu options are limited, but the dishes that we had were very tasty and satisfying. This is in a neighborhood with limited (no) parking. We took a ride share to and from, so it was not an issue. Oddly, there are no dessert options, but if you have a satisfying meal, I supposed you don't really need dessert!
Did dinner here on a Saturday night with a group of 7 friends. It is a very cozy environment and felt like an authentic family owned restaurant experience. The $15 corkage fee was reasonable. Everyone loved their food and came away very satisfied. I will definitely be returning.
Hidden Gem... great food and wonderful service...
We will be back!
We had a lovely dinner here—fabulous food and warm service.
Our family had a great meal! We felt welcome and especially appreciated the BYOB option for wine. The corkage fee was reasonable. The food was outstanding. The ambiance was a little odd at first, as the restaurant is very small, but we thoroughly enjoyed our service, food and overall experience. Thank you!
Gracious Host
Fabulous fresh pasta!
Very good Italian food, limited wine options, but you can bring your own. Food was great. Cosy and warm atmosphere.
Try the grilled romaine with frozen balsamic dressing. Really excellent and interesting. Nice fresh pasta.
Great food, but spotty service with new server. Overall, I would recommend. It’s cute and delicious:)
Food was excellent. Great small place...like a hidden gem
Great, freshly made Italian food. Fast service. A neighborhood gem.
Split the spinach salad with goat cheese then had homemade Fettuccini with putanesca sauce. Outstanding blend of flavors, the eggplant in the putanesca was perfectly cooked and the anchovies gave it a nice kick. Only complaint was the not so hot water for tea.
A great neighborhood restaurant. Well priced, excellent pasta! We go here regularly.
Homemade pasta, delicious combinations of food, felt very authentic. Very small seating area. Limited wine list but BYOB allowed with reasonable corkage fee
Perfect neighborhood venue for a meal with out-of town family members. Loved the food, the white tablecloths, and that it was very comfortable for my 97-year old dad who has mobility issues and trouble hearing. Will definitely come here again.
New Years Eve dinner
Outstanding!! What a find ... we came in front So San Jose-worth it!
The only small detractor was it was very chilly in the restaurant until other patrons arrived.
Small spot, food is just wonderful! We will return.
Honestly... it was okay, not great. The seafood in the frutti di mare was of the “frozen then thawed” varietal... this is basic hearty Italian-esque fare... not authentic and light on “fresh from the market” ingredients.
Loved the eggplant veggie goat cheese terrine and grilled romaine.
The food was awesome! In particular spaghetti alla seppia and carbonara. The ambience is quite small so if you decide to come here, I suggest you to book in adavance
Great food and service. A little cramped on space but overall experience was great. Would definitely recommend and go back too
One of the best kept secrets in San Francisco! The food is outstanding.
A hidden gem . This food is absolutely incredible
I think we caught them on an off night. There was only one server, so service was slow. We had multiple bugs end up in our water and wine. The salad and appetizer we ordered were pretty good, but the lasagna came out cold in the middle. We sent it back and they chose to make a new order for us rather than heating it up, which was nice, but the second attempt was still cold in the middle. We didn't try it a third time. The edges that were hot were very good though. So I can see the potential here.
Really good food, but slow service made me late for show at the Masonic
Small and intimate. A bit loud last night because of a big party that took up most of restaurant. They were having fun, however, which made it fun.
Very small, food only fair, salmon on the online menu was unavailable, no dessert was offered, and toward the end the waiter seemed to want us out to make room for more people.
Nice small place that felt like eating at someone house. However we had a large ground the service was very slow even though we were the only ones in the place. But all in all I would recommend the restaurant.
Very small restaurant. Quaint, but tight seating. Great food. Have whatever pasta is homemade. Pesto and pine nuts was fantastic!
This personifies the term "neighborhood gem!" I always think I am in Europe every time we are here. Great food.
We were in town for a conference and stayed at a nearby AirBNB. Since we did not feel like walking around forever, we first chose Colombini for its proximity and rating. We were not disappointed. We ended up eating dinner three times during the week. The food is authentic, simply good. Best authentic lasagna Bolognese (other than mom's). The salads are simple and fresh, pasta impeccable and a great charred romaine appetizer. Service is not rushed, don't expect instant service, but it is not slow either, this is a small operation with a small kitchen but they do deliver. The last of the three visits we had a table of eight and they still made sure to serve the small tables ahead of us as much as possible instead of blocking them forever with our large order. On the first visit, we ordered three bottles of the same Nero d'Avola and I had noticed the second one was very slightly corked, but since it had already been poured, we drank on. Never told anyone about it. The next visit, we tried to order the same wine, but we were informed they had removed it as they hit other bottles that were corked. It says a lot about making sure quality is there instead of places were they dump their bad stuff hoping you won't know better or hesitate to complain. This restaurant is going on my permanent list! Only thing is I would have liked a couple more options with upper end wines, for special occasions or splurging.
We thought the food was very good and will be coming back. Service was fine, prices were fair, and the setting was intimate. It's a small place and a little cramped, but it is in our neighborhood and the menu had plenty of interesting items beyond what we sampled in our first visit. So, we will be back.
Service was very slow. Food was good/very good. Charged $2 for table bread that we assumed was free, since he brought it out without asking.
Had the prawn and shrimp scampi, delicious, cooked perfectly.
Cabernet tasted like Franzia.
It's my second time at Colombini. Disappointed this time as the dish I was looking forward to was not available. Fortunately the dishes we ordered were good. Ambiance is the best. The lady who served us even accommodated our request for Brazilian music. Great place for a girls night out. I will go back there again.
Kleines Restaurant, sehr gutes Essen.
The food was great but the wine list was very limited and low end--we were disappointed by this.
Amazing Italian 💗 In the heart of San Fran. Their homemade pasta was delicious
Very charming restaurant. Recommend the homemade fettuccini. I had it with the pomodoro sauce - was delicious!
