We met friends who are building in Papillion and had never been to Collector’s Cafe. They as well as us were throughly thrilled with our service, meal and ambience! Thanks for a great evening!
Karl was incredible...5 star service. Food was served hot and incredibly delicious. !! Wine perfect. Seven falls cab!! Great cognac!! And coconut cake to die for!!!
Great food..excellent cocktails..server a delight..
I've been going to Collector's since it open. Still one of the top restaurants in the Myrtle Beach Area.
Collector's has been one our favorite restaurants anywhere for quite awhile. When we lived in Myrtle, it was our go to restaurant for romantic dates and to peruse the art by local artists. Since we have moved, we traditionally return at least one night when we visit with friends in the area. The food is always outstanding, the atmosphere could not be better, and the service is consistently wonderful. What more could you ask for. Oh, and by the way, the tuna tartar was outstanding.
Our first time at Collector's Cafe! While our entrees were excellent (duck confit! filet with bourbon bacon butter!), the real memory-maker for me was the starter. We had a crab cake over pureed butternut squash, with white port mustardo and bourbon bacon jam...possibly one of the best combinations of flavors I've ever had! The dessert was owner-made tiramisu. I would love to return when we're back in Myrtle Beach.
An extremely flavorful meal, great service and the art collection for viewing made the evening a delight.
Haven't been here in a while and I am so happy we booked this reservation. If you can, ask for the kitchen side seating to see all the food they prepare. So delicious!
Excellent! The food was wonderful; the service was just right, attentive without overbearing. It is a unique and exciting venue.
Sensational! For 20 years they have consistently served creative, delicious food with excellent service and amidst an art gallery (local artists, as well as the owners) available for purchase (yes, we also have beautiful art in our home, thanks Tommy!) Best place on the Grand Strand!
First of all 2 of the entrees were not available, leaving few options.
After 1 1/2 hours, our waitress informed us that there was a computer glitch, delaying our meals. Only after all this time, the owner came to the table to tell us he had just been informed of a glitch.
We left, without any meal!
Proof that there can be really good food in a strip mall. Intimate dining experience.
Excellent food our party enjoyed an excellent tuna tartare and beef carpaccio for the appetizer. Followed by a delectable surf and turf that spoke to every sense. I highly recommend the appetizers and entrees. This being said the desert which consisted of key lime pie, tiramisu, and red velvet cake were all very sweet and overwhelming to the palate. Even with this fact it is undoubtedly a five star worth restaurant. The tartare is simply to die for.
One of our favorites at the beach!
Very disappointed in the restaurant which used to be my favorite when I visited Myrtle Beach. Quality of food has decreased substantially and the selection was limited. The cheesecake was stale and crumbled when I tried to eat it .... left it on the plate. I haven't been here in about 10 years and it used to be awesome. This visit convinced me that the old saying is true .."you can't go back because it's never the same."
Service was great and the food was exquisite.
My wife and I went for our wedding anniversary dinner, and we are happy with the choice.
Wonderful meal; top notch. Only “negative “ - one of our party ordered a cocktail that was not good. So she ordered something else, plus dinner, plus wine with dinner. Yet she was charged for the bad drink. It seems most establishments would not do that.
Otherwise, an outstanding experience.
We were celebrating my birthday and we ordered 12 layer cake for dessert. Best I ever had! It was our first time there and staff was friendly, great service, loved walking around looking at the art work. Will definitely come back.
Wonderful experience from the time we walked in the door. We received the warmest greeting as we entered and our eyes were delighted with the sight of several of the most appealing desserts and some amazing artwork. Our service and food was amazing.
Wonderful food. Our waiter was excellent. Great night out!
I had been here once before and the food was amazing. So I was excited to take my wife to Collectors Cafe for Valentine’s Day. Unfortunately, it was overall not a good experience. I made reservations 2 weeks in advance and we still weren’t seated for 20-25 minutes after. Our food didn’t come out for over an hour after we ordered and never once did our waitress acknowledge the fact that we just sat there for over an hour. We noticed several other empty tables with frustrated faces too. My steak was barely warm and completely dry on the outside (which equates to it sitting under a heat lamp for far too long). I’ve been around steaks my whole life, and I hate to tell you this Collectors Cafe, but that wasn’t even close to a $38 steak. Please go back to the old Collectors Cafe.
We came here for Valentine's Day and I was so excited to try this place out. Many of our friends had recommended it so we made a reservation for Valentine's. When we walked in, we were greeted by the host and were told our table would be ready in a few short minutes. There was beautiful artwork on the walls and a bar up front. Right next to the bar, it looked like they had added two tables in because of how crowded it was and I was hoping we wouldn't be seated right there because I heard the back of the restaurant was amazing to look at. Of course we ended up right at the front next to the bar. I was pretty disappointed with the because it got crowded so fast and people were basically right up against our table waiting to get a drink from the bar. Our reservation was at 7 (we were seated promptly) but it took almost an hour to get our food. We didn't mind a little wait, but an hour was a long time. When the food finally arrived, it was cooked to perfection and the food was very tasty. We felt bad wanting to stay for dessert and coffee because so many people had reservations and we didn't want to take up time at the table so we decided to leave before we could experience that part. The couple at the bar had a reservation at 7:30 and they weren't seated until after 8, so we didn't want to spoil anyone else's time.
Overall, the place was clean and very interesting with the artwork. I want to go back when it is less crowded but it is pretty high end so I don't know how soon we will go back. I would recommend this place to a friend because the food was truly delicious. I just hope the next time we go, we will be seated in the back dining room and not up front next to the bar.
Collector's café is true to its name with art works covering each wall. Food and service is excellent. Well organized kitchen and front of the restaurant. Well trained staff that works in harmony. You'll never hear, "let me get your waiter." Person at or closest to your table will immediately attend to your needs. Limited menu works well with various entrée choices including vegetable dishes. recommend saving room for dessert. Many decadent desserts are available and prepared fresh. Difficult to get past the dessert counter without noticing what the pastry chef prepared to accompany that evenings meals. Excellent selection of wines, beers and cocktails. Cocktails are prepared to perfection.
This was Valentines evening. Service was very excellent. The sautéed scallop cake was outstanding. For dinner he had a shrimp and steak combo that was extremely well done. I had mahi-mahi which was a tad over done. All in all since we all know this is a busy evening we would definitely return.
It took an hour and fifteen minutes after ordering to get our food. Waitress kept forgetting to bring items to our table that we requested. Our food was only lukewarm when it was finally brought to us. Extremely poor service. I think the food was over priced. We will not go back after such a terrible experience
Great food. Nice people. Quite slow to get the food out unfortunately.
We are locals who enjoy both lunch and dinner at this very fine restaurant.
Beautifully decorated for Valentines Day. We didn't know what to expect being from Canada, but we were pleasantly surprised by the ambience. The chef is top notch. Exceptional fish. Wonderful service.
Not cheap, but very nice for a special occasion.
Fabulous in every way
As usual everything was perfection. I had the scallops cakes as did my friend. That’s our favorite dish and it was great! Our husbands both had the salmon, and they were thrilled with their dishes . Didn’t have dessert this tine, but you really shouldn’t miss the dessert.
Love walking around and looking at all the art. My favorite is in a private dining room and it’s on the ceiling. This is a great restaurant, one of the best on the beach.
We very much enjoyed the atmosphere and ambiance...until the babysitter called and reported that she was sick, and we had to leave immediately to rescue both the sitter and the baby!
We will be back again soon.
have been many times, as always, it was wonderful, the best at the beach
I really wanted to have an amazing experience here, given the high reviews. I was really looking forward to having dinner here for my 40th birthday with my family that came from Florida for the occasion. We made a reservation for 6:30, but after being seated we were told they had 2 large parties in the back and it would be a while. We were given bread but then nothing else. At 7:50, we still didn't have food or any idea when it would be coming. The waiter was kind, explaining how chaotic the kitchen was given the big parties, but no other concessions (not even more bread, or a complimentary salad, which wouldn't even require cooking) were made despite the circumstances. We decided that after an hour and 20 minutes, despite it being 8pm, we left without our meal. When you are spending $40 per entree, you shouldn't have this kind of experience. Exacerbating the pain of the experience was that I sacrificed my 40th birthday dinner with my family during their limited visit. Even when explaining our disappointment to the "manager," we were only told, "Sorry." This was an insufficient and unprofessional response to a management failure. Although this was likely an extremely odd occurrence, a truly high caliber restaurant would deliver a much more empathetic and service - oriented response valuing the customer for the potentially loyal relationship. This restaurant has a lot to learn from the Chipotle we visited after their failure.
Excellent food and place to celebrate a special occasion of no occasion at all....Love everything about this place....the crabcake appetizer is to die for!!!
i went early so no crowd -art gallery also in the restaurant which is great
just a good fine!
i have been going to Collector's for over 20 years and have never been disappointed. The owner Tommie is an artist and brings in his showings and others in the areas to fill the walls for paintings that can be purchased. Chiefs are first rate and the services is fantistic
The restaurant could use an update in terms of window coverings and flooring but that is a suggestion to compete with some of the new trendy restaurants. I personally go for all the things i like and they are many
Our 1st visit to Colectors Cafe...amazing experience. Incredible service, amazing food, and wonderful ambience...1st class dining experience. Will definitely be back!!!
WE Love Collectors Cafe and go a lot! Great food choices and staff are very friendly.
Excellent restaurant. Delicious food, efficient ,friendly service.
Great place for New Year’s Eve! We love the food and the art work. We enjoy dining here anytime we’re in Myrtle Beach.
