We stopped for lunch while travelling through town from Canada to Tri-Cities. It's a small kind of rustic corner restaurant. The food was fantastic! We had the breakfast burger, loaded French dip and salmon BLT! All were excellent and huge portions! Would definitely return.. thanks!!
Great service, we were there for Restaurant Week, which was busy, but all the staff worked together to insure a nice time. The food was tasty, but i don't recommed this place for someone watching their weight. Portions, esp. the cheesecake were large. My neighbor ordered grown up mac and cheese which looked awesome.
I found the Caesar Salad and entrees excellent. I did not think the desserts matched up.
Another Restaurant Week find. As everyone knows, "Everything is better with bacon" including figs wrapped in it-YUMMY!. The grown up Mac 'n Cheese was delicious and the cheesecake may have become my new favorite. Lots of good beer selections and a good wine selection, too. Definitely will be going back!!
Awesome food and great service. Couldn’t ask for more! The place is small so we recommend reservations.
Wonderful food. Plenty of beer on tap. The Crab Chowder was amazing. Located right on Sherman for good people watching.
Great food reasonable prices would definitely recommend
Great place, service was great. They have a great beer selection and our waiter knew what was on the menu.
Great place to enjoy decent food and creative food pairings. Service was excellent.
Great food, service & beer selection!
Nice selection of beer on tap. Creative menu, the duck was good;
moist and flavorful. We'll be back!
Great food
Distinctive menu, distinctive flavors executed beautifully. When tired of the "normal" offerings in this town, go here for a real treat at affordable prices. A great value.
Nothing special. Food ok. short staffed. Small venue, but not cozy, cute small
This is one of our favorite places to dine because it is casual and the food is excellent.
The restaurant was pretty quiet as we walked in. The Festival of Lights was going on. As soon as that event ended, the restaurant was packed. The food was great, the location was ideal and the staff was extremely friendly. Had a wonderful evening.
Seems to be the recent reincarnation of Scratch, since checks still come with that name on them.
Only fair, unfortunately. Service is very relaxed in the mostly empty dining room. Extremely pleasant, but quite slow. Beer drinkers outside seem to get better attention. Food has potential, but offering 15 or so Mac and Cheese dishes is the easy way out. "Kobe" beef burger was served on a plain bun, with nothing else on it (I added cheese). Nothing. $16 says "Avoid Me". The soda was flat. Tighten things up and this could be a success.
Wait staff was friendly & attentive, Menu choices were interesting & varied. Conveniently located.
A great find in Coeur d'Alene. The menu was eclectic and inventive. Bayou shrimp was delicious!
Yummy food, lots of gluten-free options and very a friendly staff. Overall, I feel the Collective Kitchen is a great value for the money. I highly recommend the ribs. They were fantastic :)
The food was excellent, great wine, and very accommodating when we had a late arrival.
Food and service were good. Decor was confusing. It was loud -- bad acoustics, not a lot of customers. Get the pig & fig appetizer.
The Duck with Brussel sprout hash was amazing!!!!
Our meal was excellent, as was the service. The noise level was almost uncomfortably high until a loud party left. Perhaps some sound-absorbing floor and wall coverings would lower the decibel levels. Heat could have been set a little higher. All in all a very good experience!
This is the second year in a row we have gone to Scratch for Christmas Eve dinner. The food is always fantastic and the service is excellent! We will be back.
The food was so good! Menu selection was great for adults and kids! Mac n cheese was to die for. Appetizers with bacon and figs very good. Waitress was amazing to our grandkids. Highly recommend!
Nice dinner, everything was very good. The bill was reasonable, I'd have to say it's the best value for the buck I've had in a long time. I'd recommend it anyone.
Two of us ordered what was described by wait staff as grilled wild king salmon. It was probably salmon but otherwise not as described. It was served over mashed potatoes alongside runny mango salsa so the entire meal was a mushy wet mess. It was my birthday so didn't feel like making a scene but no one bothered to ask if it was okay when we didn't eat it. Also, no one offered to comp. dessert when they'd been told it was a birthday.
Needed a casual dinner with fresh food and this fit the bill. Good service and every item ordered was tasty. Modifications made for food allergies was not a problem. I had stopped in for lunch a couple of days before, and it was perfect. Particularly found the bruschetta and calamari excellent at lunch. I had no hesitation in returning for dinner...really enjoyed the Caesar salad, as well as sweet potato fries.
Scratch Coeur d'Alene never disappoints. We had an incredible lunch with some outstanding craft beers from The Filling Station, which is connected to the restaurant. The Kobe beef burger is the best burger in town! You have to try the calamari!! I've had calamari all over the Pacific Coast and nothing even comes close to Chef Rex' recipe; tender and tasty! Best restaurant in town!
Our servers were very friendly and helpful. We always have a great time and good food at Scratch!
We enjoyed our dining experience at Scratch! Waiter was very attentive and interactive!
Food was presentation was lovely and the food was very very good.
Great downtown location- plenty of people watching !!! we'll be back!
Amazing food and service!!! We had the baguette for an appetizer and I would highly recommend trying it! Nice beer and wine selection. We will definitely be going back for another date night!
The bacon wrapped dates are wonderful. The wine selection was extremely great and the portion sizes are very appropriate for the cost.
With an 8 and 10 yr old in tow, we were looking for a nice meal to top off 10 day NW vacation. Scratch exceeded all expectations as it was our best meal in three states. From the service, wine list, location, to the varied and creative food options, we give it five stars and will make sure we dine there on our next Spokane visit.
Ate at this "made from scratch" restaurant 3 times during our 5 day stay in Coeur D'alene and can easily say it was the best restaurant we tried. Had breakfast first, then dinner two different nights. Not a fancy spot, but the food is outstanding. Had the Halibut, cheese ravioli with spring vegetables, calamari, soup, salad, everything we tried was excellent, and the prices are very reasonable. Skip the more well known restaurants in CDA and try this one, the food will not disappoint.
it was recommended to us and we had a terrific meal
We love Scratch! Right on Sherman means you are right in the heart of downtown Coeur d'Alene. You can get a seat by the window and watch all the action as you dine on some great entres. I love their signature spinach salad with the pears. We bring our out of town guests here to show off our upscale dining here in town.
Scratch is one of my "go to" restaurants in Coeur d'Alene. I've been a number of times and have never been disappointed. It has a comfortable, bistro-like, feel and the food excellent. The service has been slow on occasion, but never to a point that it bothers you. I plan to dine here often.
Food, service, ambiance were all excellent. Only reason "Overall" not a 5 star was the portion of halibut served. It could not have been more than 3 oz--the smallest we have ever been served.
Our food was excellent, service was great and we would return here our next trip to Coeur d' Alene.
