I always hope Collections Cafe will be better than it turns out to be. It is so convenient to events at Seattle Center, and the ambiance is whimsical and the space with all the windows is bright and cheerful. But the food always underwhelms me, and it isn't cheap. I had the mac and cheese, which, for the first few tastes is very good, with the lime crema and crisp bread crumbs. But once you're through that it is largely bland. My friend's Cobb salad wasn't great -- she said the squash was tasteless and nothing special about a salad that sounded very good. My other friend did like her soup. Again, I wish I could recommend this place, but I think I won't be eager to be back.
Always good food and service and convenient to culture centers.
The food was very good and so was the service! The seating could have been more comfortable.
The wine was excellent.
Terrific little cafe with delicious food. We enjoyed being surrounded by Chihuly's eclectic collections.
Super fun decor and the food was outstanding! I don’t think you can go wrong with any of the menu choices as our table had four of them and they were each fantastic! Glad we made Collections Cafe our location for lunch during our visit.
Very disappointed that the fairly new manager has removed the brunch menus. It was delicious ! Eggs, waffles, dungenous eggs Benedict, hot buttered rum...etc.
Please bring it all back.....
Quiet & bright space, pleasant, calm atmosphere, food was good. Felt like an ikea-designed museum cafe - with cute collections in each table under glass.
Delicious soup of the day and dungeness crabcakes
Something amazing is going on with this little cafe. Despite a hiccup or two associated with an event in the Museum, which caused the cafe to close early and be a little kinetic around service, we were treated to a big serving of smiles, understanding and several people going the extra mile to ensure we had a good meal, made the time for the last entry to the museum and enjoyed our visit start to finish. GO. Enjoy the cafe. GO. Enjoy the gardens. GO. Enjoy the museum. It is a Seattle treasure and these are people who want our business and inspired attendance.
Service was nice. I love not having to ask for anything and had to request a few items.
Portions were great and food was excellent!
So fun seeing the variety of collections and their uniqueness.
It would be great if there was a way to access the museum and garden from the restaurant. Having to leave and walk to the opposite side to get tickets and entry was inconvenient.
First time at this café. The server was entertaining and very helpful. The clam chowder was one of the best I have had and served just right. Even though we were there late in the day, we were not rushed to finish our meal. Didn't realize we were the last customers until we were on our way out. Very helpful people employed at this Café.
Our entire family loved our experience (including my 6-year old!) The casual atmosphere but attention to the finest detail is outstanding.
The food here is always excellent and the staff is amazing. I lost my phone on Saturday and they let me use their iPad to track it and their phone to call my husband. Thankfully, it was returned. The cafe staff was so incredibly compassionate and helpful! Thank you!
Everyone and everything was perfect! Would highly recommend this restaurant near Seattle Center and the Chihuly Museum and Gardens.
I have eaten at the Collections many times ever since it opened. Unfortunately, the menu offered fewer choices and the food was very disappointing. My friends agreed.
always fun to eat here,
great food and fun tables, nice to see the collections!
If I put things clever like that I would be a collector not a hoarder!! lol
Delicious food and great service! A really fun place with all their collections. I had a chopped salad (great size) and my husband a delicious turkey sandwich (lots of meat). Both were so good.
It is fun to be from Seattle and visit the Seattle Center on a busy summer day when tourists from all over the world are here to enjoy our city and its cultural offerings. I took a client to lunch at Collections Café and we were able to meet and converse over a fine meal. We both chose salads; he had a smoked salmon Caesar and I had the seafood Louis. Our server offered me great dressing offerings besides the traditional Louis dressing. I opted for herb balsamic dressing, a nice complement to the greens and seafood. Sometimes, it is great to be a tourist in your own hometown, especially at Collections Café!
Lovely atmosphere in a beautiful setting! My smoked salmon sandwich was a bit dry. My husband’s turkey club was better. Convenient location!
Terrible service took forever to get my order. But it was delicious when I finally got it. The crab & shrimp roll.
Wait staff was very patient and accommodating to the young children at our table.
Perfect. Delicious and fun
Really unique restaurant decor. Must see to really appreciate. Food was delicious. I had a cup of carrot bisque and split the fish and chips. He had the clam chowder. Service was fast but we didn't feel rushed to leave. Crystal our server was friendly and proficient.
If you're going to see the museum near lunchtime, plan ahead & make a reservation, it saved us at least 30 minutes wait, I had a cup of chowder that was excellent & an shrimp & crabmeat roll that was delicious! My wife enjoyed a burger & daughter has their mac n cheese, Happy girls - happy life!
The service and food were outstanding! The turkey and bacon sandwich and crab and shrimp roll were excellent! Don’t miss browsing some of the other collections in table tops-such a great atmosphere and refreshing calm if the museum happens to be busy. Loved it!!
Great food, prompt service, and fun table displays.
Wonderful decor from collections displayed in unique table centerpieces. Food also presented with
Fun individual dishes to delight the eye. Very tasty, ate it all including the root beer floats. Highly
Nice! Great location. And nice food and service.
Great food and service! Sat in the atrium and loved it. Tried the bellini cocktail amd loved it! Crab were very good but a little small for the price. Our server was excellent!
The restaurant seating area is shaped like a long narrow rectangle with a door at each end. The door where the host desk is situated is also close to the garbage collection area for the businesses across the path. The day I was there, they had the doors opened at each end creating a nice breeze. During that time were collecting the garbage at the other businesses. This created quite a stench throughout the restaurant. It took a kitchen staff to come out front to tell the hostess to close the doors. It's not that it was busy, she had been standing there the whole time doing nothing. I ended up leaving and not ordering anything after my soup which was average.
Collections Cafe is in the Chihuly Garden and Glass Exhibit Hall and is a wonderful place to eat when you are visiting the museum and Space Needle. The food was fresh and the service was outstanding. My only wish is that they had more gluten free options for those of us with Celiac. However, the Crab Louie Salad was great! My spouse, who is not gluten free, had the clam chowder and loved it. The strawberry sorbet was very flavorful and great on a hot day.
great, quality food, excellent staff, the collections inside the tables is a stroke of genius. I took my mother and she also liked the place. We will go there again!!
Thanks, Craig Pellegrino
Wonderful dining experience at Collections...everything was perfect!
Great place if you happen to be visiting the Space Needle or the Chihuly Gardens. At lunch time you’ll need reservations or the wait time could be long. The food options are very good. Service is very good.
Beautiful setting with nice service and close to everything!!!!
My out-of-town guests and I had a wonderful time - great food and service and fun surroundings.
My tip: come early ! I'll be back.
Yes. We were there for an early lunch. Both the wait staff and hostess were excellent. Had the dungeness Louie. Friend had sandwich. All portions quite large. Good food. A little pricey but we should have shared. Fairly quiet. Recommend.
We went to the cafe for lunch before going to the Chihuly exhibit. We really enjoyed everything we ate, although it was a little on the expensive side. It wasn't too busy, even at 12:30 on a Saturday, and service was prompt and the waiter was great.
The menu choices are creative and delicious. The food has always been great. Sometimes the service is a little off, but it was great when we dined there last week.
We had an early dinner after seeing a play at the Seattle Rep. The restaurant is only open til 5, thus the menu is a lighter fare, but portions are substantial and delicious. We always enjoy looking at the collections of Dale Chihuly, for which the restaurant is named.
