Great place, great view, comfortable. Great service with a good menu satisfying folks of all ages.
Need to have heaters available for the outside seated guests.
I found the menu limited and the food was just regular. The staff from the parking valet until being seated were exceptional. Our waiter was really nice, just a little forgetful. I love the view and the young ladies on the front made every effort to seat us where we could view the ocean away from the direct sun. All in all, it was just a nice relaxing lunch (suppose to be dinner) with my husband. I expected more on the menu but what we received was enough.
I am local and love to give my out-of-town guests a great experience by bringing them here. The Collisium never dissapoints!
It seems as though "Special Instructions"
or "Special Requests" section on the
Open Table reservations are not read by
I have to repeat it once I am there!
Why bother clicking Special Occasion on the App when the restaurant doesn't know about it!
Most of all we enjoyed the view. There were many negative reviews about the food and rude service on Yelp, however we were pleasantly surprised. My guests enjoyed all of the food and our waiter, Simon, was very nice.
We arrived at sunset and the view was spectacular we ate outside under heat lamp
Beautiful location and views. The rest is nothing to brag about.
I made a reservation for my birthday lunch.
When I got there there was a wait and the service was horrible. I was shocked. I’ve been to this place several times and it was a total miss today. They didn’t say anything about the “birthday” and I wasn’t reminding them.
Normally they are very good. Not sure what was up today.
The setting is simply fabulous with both ocean and panoramic
landscape views. There is a very good wine list and the food is carefully prepared and very tasty. This is definitely a hidden neighborhood gem and should not be missed.
The food was delicious and staff were helpful and cordial.
I love this restaurant even more every time I come. I highly recommend dining here! Great service.
Overall great experience. Our waiter Kian was terrific both nights we dined there.
Birthday dinner for a friend- very slow service - masked the culinary experience.
Wines expensive and small selection
Our server Kallie She is very friendly and pleasant. Good service.
The restaurant has an amazing view! take your partner here!
We’ve been coming to Pelican Hill for easter for the past 5 years and this year it definitely went down hill. They said it’s under new ownership so maybe that’s why. Food was mediocre and the service was horrible. Not sure if I’ll be back next year.
Our server, Wes, did an outstanding job. You can always tell when people truly care about their jobs and he is one of them. We appreciated his knowledge, recommendations and promptness. The manager, Shermain, was excellent as well. She made sure we had a great dinner experience.
We had the shrimp tempura that was delicious and the perfect amount to share for an appetizer!
I ordered the sea bass and it is one of the best I have ever had!
My boyfriend ordered the Steak and it was cooked perfectly.
The spicy broccolini as a side was great also.
Then we split the snickerdoodle brownie for dessert that came with their cinnamon house made gelato that we will definitely be back for again!
I liked the heated patio seating because even a night you have a beautiful view with the pool lit up, the golf course and all the stars in the sky.
Loved this place for scenic view and tasty food. Recommend for the romantic event
Love that pelican hill is offering specials that I can take advantage of ,although we do eat there often anyway as we are locals
But there seemed to be very uneven service
We ordered and the waitress was non -present
Asked busboy for drinks and some bread
Bread never came although we wanted to have it with appetizers
Just really inattentive service for such a beautiful venue
The service is really slow and you have to ask for everything, such as bread plates, etc. Since we had a party of 7, they already added service charge, aka tips, to our bill, but had I not been careful, I wouldn’t have noticed and the line for tip is still wide open for me to fill in. The service charge was based on everything, not only on food but also on corking fee, which I don’t understand. $30/bottle corking fee is already a service fee and not cheap, why do I have to pay more on top of that??? I feel it’s like double fee/taxation and it’s not fair.
We enjoyed our experience. The food was very good and views great!
Server and food was great! View is always awesome!!
Matt the Pool Manager was remarkably welcoming and hospitable. Matthew in the bar was very friendly ad well. Our waitress Tania and the Hostess/Asst Manager were also gracious and helpful. Our table service could have been slightly more attentive, but on the other hand we also said that we were in no rush so perhaps this was out of respect for that expression. Whenever we interacted with any staff, everyone was exceptionally courteous and friendly, from the valet to the rest room attendant. The food was very good, and the wine selection pleasant although one or two more selections would be nice.
Now the setting... in a word, stunning. We have lived in the area since the resort was built and have never been in the property before this visit, encouraged by a Travelzoo offer. The property is exquisite, and I can only imagine how luxurious it is to stay on the property. We look forward to returning, and bringing family and friends for special occasions, including “just because” we are so blessed to live in this beautiful area!
If it wasn’t for the location this place couldn’t exist. The food of subpar at best. There was no kind of taste to the burger I had. A little salt and pepper goes a long way. We started with one waiter and then another one started taking our order and we were confused as to who was our real waiter. I wasn’t pleased with my experience dining there at all.
I have eaten at the Colosseum several times, and every time has been perfection. This is a poolside Grill that reminds me more of a Parisian Sidewalk Cafe, with amazing outdoor seating with heaters and a fantastic view of the pool and Pacific Ocean, but with a quite roomy indoor restaurant and bar facilities as well. The booths are huge and comfortable, and there's plenty of size and space to the tables.
The menu is somewhat Limited, but everything I have tried on it is absolutely amazing. Their flat iron steak is among the finest beef I've had. I am a native Texan and love blood red steaks, but most restaurants just don't understand what blood rare means. This one does. It came out exactly as I ordered it, and was delicious.
The service was impeccable all the way down to the free valet service and every single person that I spoke to acted as if I were royalty.
This is the perfect place to take that special someone or a business client. It will not fail to impress!
I would give it 10 out of 10 Stars, if possible. Even the bathrooms smack of five star resorts, with folded personalized disposable hand towels.
Had requested a quiet table, was sat in the middle of the restaurant. No waiter until we stopped one passing by after 15 minutes. Appetizer arrived before drinks, and was falling apart. Entrée was extremely small and bland. Water refilled once and we had empty glasses the last 20 minutes until getting water ourselves. Requested to see the manager, then left after 15 minutes when they never arrived. The absolute worst dining experience in many years.
We truly enjoyed ourselves. Great dinner, great service and an absolutely beautiful view from our table. I'll definitely go back soon.
Service and environment were great. Quality of food was ok for price. Used travelzoo voucher, which was very worth it!
Perfect Place, beautiful people... We Love the Place. Thank You!
I have dined at this restaurant for special occasions and the service and food have been great.
This particular time the service was terrible and food Ok but nothing special. My seared sea bass was burnt. The waiter was not attentive and they were not that busy. I really thought this place was classy and a nice place to impress guests but felt after this visit it was not the case.
The waiter especially did not make our experience special and he was slow to serve us in every which way! I was very disappointed since I was excited to share this place with some special friends who had not dined here before.
Seabass was very skimpy this time compared to last. Too much plain salad to cover up for the missing sea bass. Cocktail had too much ice and very little drink. But the tempura was excellent as before.
Excellent food, service, atmosphere, and a spectacular sunset that night.....
The only issue we had was that the waitress never offered to refill my granddaughters water. She wanted a refill, but it was never offered. Our waitress seemed to be busy with other tables. My granddaughter loved the special birthday cake too. Loved it!!
Always exceptional service :)
Great meal in a great spot with a great view. Superb choice for conversation with friends. Top quality service and elegant meals.
Had such an amazing lunch at the Coliseum! Great food, service and an amazing view of the ocean and golf course! Best poke bowl I've come across so far! 10/10 would recommend and am def coming back!! Also, complimentary valet service!
We had a lovely time at dinner. The food was very good. I had the sea bass was really good. I did feel the temperature was too cold inside and we were told that the doors have to stay open. Service was a bit slow but we were not in a hurry. And valet was inconvenient asking us to park at the upper level and then walk down. It was cold outside. We did get a nice ride back. The people were great throughout the complex.
We were there on Sunday for lunch, front desk was friendly and got us the table within 5 minutes, food very good but service little slow then usual.
I will be back again soon.
