I've probably been there 10 times now after a round of golf with the family and the view is always amazing and the food is good but the service is always below par.

Service was not good. Disappointed, especially bringing special people that came in from Colorado and being pretty much ignored for the first 10 minutes after being seated.

Food was great, service was less than great. Also, too many "management" walking back and forth past our table. Made us very uncomfortable.

One of the nicest locations in southern California. We enjoy it several times a year. We miss the lobster macaroni, The food, in general, is B to B+ but the location is A+. Enjoy it, it's nice to park upstairs and walk around the back down to the restaurant.

I just wish you have more fish selection on your lunch and dinner menu (i.e. salmon, yellow tail, and/or sushi, etc.) at the Coliseum Pool & Grill. Thanks!

We made reservations for 12:30 for lunch. It was a nice day out so they couldn't seat us outside for another 40 minutes. We had a drink at the bar and waited for a table. An hour later we were seated at our table. It took over 45 minutes for our drinks to come. Our food came at the same time as our drinks. I spoke to the manager and he comp'ed the whole meal due to the wait. It was nice of him to do and he apologized profusely. It literally took us 3 hours just to have lunch. Not sure we will be back

I ordered the short ribs and was not disappointed with them. My husband ordered the fish dish and was very happy with it. The dessert was not on a par with the main dish. It was quite chilly that night so we did not eat outside on the patio. I am sure it would have been more fun to actually look out on the beautiful pool. Inside, it is not a remarkable place. In fact the seats are so low that I had to request a second set of cushions so that I did not feel awkward eating. Our friend who joined us also had the same problem, but she was embarrassed to ask for the cushions. Even my husband, who is 5'10" remarked on the seats. The wait staff was very pleasant, but the food took a long time arriving. But when it did arrive it was well prepared.

Had dinner there during Newport Beach restaurant week. For starter husband chose soup (tasty) and I had the salad (good & generous amount). Entree: we both had the sea bass (delicious). For dessert we had the flourless chocolate cake (dry) and also their homemade gelato. We decided on pistachio which was out of this world delicious, so yummy. Nice texture and very flavorful! We might return just to go to the cafe in the resort for more gelato!! The only thing that we were unhappy about was that our waiter could not give us details about the dishes on the menu. He didn't bother to go ask someone either. And, he said he wasn't familiar with the menu because restaurant week menu just started yesterday but NB restaurant week started 6 days ago. That disappointed us. I still wanted to know more about the starter toast dish so decided to ask a server if he knew. He explained that dish perfectly! I would have ordered that instead of the salad since the sea bass entree included a salad. In general, the service was great and the atmosphere was relaxing.

I have been here a few times on a Travelzoo special, and each time it's been great! We sat outside under heaters for dinner a couple of times and lunch another occasion. The views are beautiful. The seating is comfortable. The service is excellent, and the food has been delicious eat time. I highly recommend it!

Mu friend and I really love this restaurant BUT our husbands would prefer a different place. Their problem is with the menu. My husband ordered the hamburger and it was still too much foodie food. Both of the men love the ambiance but wish the menu was more like Red Robin. She and I will have to go their alone.

Had dinner on Christmas night with our family, then hotel lobby for dessert. All servers seemed disinterested and unhappy to be there. Very uncomfortable experience paying such high prices for food and drink, yet having to essentially plead for service. In general, all Irvine Company Hotels need to seek out training programs like Four Seasons or similar if they expect to keep existing price points. Food was average for holiday menu.

The view is gorgeous but the waitstaff is slow to fulfill orders. We waited about 10 minutes upon just to get waters, another 10 until someone came back to take our orders. It would be understandable if the place was crowded but it wasn’t. There were so many empty chairs and just a group of 4 seated next to us. Other than that, no other reason for the slow service. Food was ok.

My wife and I eat hear once a month as the ambiance is nice. I prefer the appetizers of calamari or tempura and any of the entrees. This visit I ordered the hamburger and was disappointed with the overall quality. However, normally I order an entree and have always been happy, both fish and pasta entrees are very good.
