Colette Grand Cafe Ratings and Reviews
Saturday brunch with family. Beef tartare seemed fresh but taste wasn't good. Too heavy on wasabi, but not savory enough. Waiter swears the blueberry pancakes are the best in town ... they were good but not much better than IHOP. Cod fish cakes had way too much potato but not enough fish. Should have called it potato cake instead. Classic breakfast (2 eggs + meat) was fine, but I could have made that at home. Overall uninspiring. Service was good. Crowd watching was fun, but don't go there just for good food.
Had reserved Colette Grand Cafe for Sunday Brunch to celebrate a birthday. The food was delicious and fresh. The cocktails were handcrafted and delicious. The ambience was cozy with velvet tufted couches and white arched pillars. It felt like we were in a Parisian Cafe. We had two babies with us and felt that the environment was baby-friendly with enough space, also because it wasn't too busy. Our waiter was very friendly but wish he had come around more often. Overall, I would come here again and again. We really enjoyed it.
Some of the worst service we've received. 3 of our orders were 'lost', had to follow up twice, ended up cancelling only to have them brought to the table more than an hour and a half later. No assigned server, kept having to flag people down. Very disappointed
The buffet desserts, salads, egg benedict was good but the made to order crepes and omelette was not well presented at all and tasted mediocre at best. For juices they only had 2 options of boxed juices, for the price you are paying you would expect fresh juice. If you are celebrating a special occasion and bring your own cake, they will charge $5 per person plating fee which is ridiculous! If you are a party of 8-10 ppl you are paying $50 just to have your cake cut. Very disappointing
Our server Alexandra was absolutely lovely. My sister and best friend and I enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet, which is surely the best in the city. So many great choices for everyone and the restaurant itself is stunning. The lobby area can get a little disorganized with so many 10:00 reservations when the restaurant is opening, but it’s well worth it!
Great restaurant with great ambiance. Love the decoration and has a great selection of food. We were there for Sunday brunch and the food station is always filled and they pull out something different from time to time. Great seafood selection (fresh oyster, crab legs, shrimps, lobster buns, etc.) The brunch includes freshly squeeze orange / grapefruit juice and coffee.
Love that you can also order crepes and omelettes from the table. Their lemon and sugar crepe is amazing! Glad that it comes in a small portion. I think I have to go several times in order to taste every single thing they have! This is definitely a treat at $56 per person. But with the selection they have, it's totally worth it.
Heard quite a bit of buzz about the Colette and wanted to give the place a try for brunch. Went last Saturday and left extremely disappointed. The place is beautifully decorated and the service was okay. We ordered the French onion soup (arrived cold), the Benedict (croissant was flaky and probably the best part of the meal) and the classic. The potatoes are definitely nothing special, cold and crispy, easily something you can make at home but maybe even better lol. One visit was enough for us, food was underwhelming and although a beautiful atmosphere, it won't be enough for us to return.
Have been to Colette a few times before. This time I'm done. First we missed the salmon Wellington which they decided to remove from the brunch menu, buffet platters were regularly empty and we had to wait or just go for something else. and it was like being in a Chinese restaurant with ordering our omelette or crepe by filling a paper with a bic pen. Service was above average when they were attentive, but they seemed to handle more tables and as a result lower than what it was in the past. Overall disappointed, looking for a new brunch location.
Waitress was great, very attentive. Unfortunately they overbooked. Looked like a private event was taking place, which resulted in lots of people with reservations waiting in limbo, luckily We got a seat. However, kitchen was very slow and when food arrived 1 out of the three items ordered was incorrect. The correct item didn't arrive for 30 minutes at which point we paid and left.
The air conditioning was not working and we were not advised in advance.
The menu had changed but was not current and so we made our choices only to learn, upon ordering, that they were not available. I had been here for lunch in 2 occasions and had lovely experiences. The evening experience was less than acceptable and the restaurant was quite empty...and I now know why!
I had a very wonderful food experience with my mom of Sunday brunch! The seafood there are all fresh and tasty! Everything there we all love, especially the chocolate mousse cafe attracted me try a lot that I don't like this type dessert before, it was totally inspired me that day!
The only suggestion is the service they need to improve, a waitress just gave us a bright smile after we pay the good tips.
I was really looking forward to my visit at Colette, I went for Sunday brunch with friends visiting from out of town.
I loved the décor and the brunch buffet was wonderful, it was a great a experience until the very end when our server became quite rude. Needless to say that left a bad taste in my mouth and I doubt I'll be returning since my memory is tarnished.
Could have been a wonderful experience but my first impression was ruined due to unprofessionalism.
Beautiful venue but it was very hot; I suspect the a/c wasn't on which surprises me for such an upscale place. Our server wasn't very attentive and also refused to let one of my dining companions return her untouched orange juice for another beverage. Recommend going for the buffet.
