This place is closed. Showed up twenty minutes early and door was locked. Looked through window and place looked a mess. Called repeatedly for next hour, and all I got was a message that the number was unable to answer my call; not that Colette restaurant was unable to do so, but the number I dialed. Either the restaurant or Open Table should be aware of changes in schedule by contacting the guests, or both of them should. Very disappointed.
I made arrangements for a business meal for my board members while at our board meeting. This restaurant had good reviews, seemed reasonably priced, and seemed quaint. Half of my party got there first. When I finally got there, they said, "the restaurant is closed for construction." I thought they were joking, but it was true. There was nothing to inform of this happening and of the restaurant being closed. Luckily, there was space available for a party of 8 at a restaurant on the corner, Ceviche, which was very good. Too bad.
Sorry you didn't make it. Too much good food out there when your menu never changed and the food remained mediocre.
A small bistro with both indoor and sidewalk dining, Collette is charming and casual chic. It has a typical bistro menu. I read a review which said wasn't French enough. Huh? It depends on where you eat in France. The owner and staff are lovely. The menu is not ambitious, but what they have is well done. I'd go again.
Adele is the best. Knowledgeable, smart and French. She is married to a Gringo with tats. I only mention this because dining at Colette is like dining with family....if the Chef was fantastic and your server spoke French. Bon appetite!
Excelente meal service and Ambience
I received a gift certificate for this from a timeshare. I thought, I might as well take advantage of the offer. I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality and taste of the food. I am not a French food person, but this was wonderful. Both my wife and I enjoyed the food and the nice employees. I don't remember the names of the servers, but both were very attentive.
The ambience and food were good although I did not consider the food particularly French. Would have been nice to have beer or mixed drinks instead of just wine since two of our party don't drink wine. Staff were pleasant and service was prompt but we were there shortly after it opened and there were only a couple tables occupied.
Had another great experience at this French style bistro. Excellent service and food (mussels).
It was built up to be great and it just wasn't. No where close to the authentic bistros in France.
The mussels are excellent. Among the best ever. Located on a nice, quiet section on Lincoln Road away from the crowds. Excellent, friendly service.
The mussels were great, scallops were yummy and red wine was delish! The servers are French and the ambience is lovely, music outside from other restaurant is quite loud however. If you prefer a quieter setting sit inside!
Very nice neighborhood place. Would go again when I'm in the area.
As always, good!!!!!
A must if you love French food and a fun ambiance.
It was my 4th time at Colette Bistro and so far the food and the service have been consistently great! I will definitely return again and again and keep on recommending this restaurant to friends.
The onion soup was the best ever. Can't wait to return. Very charming with great service.
Adele was amazing. Great food and ambiance.
Small, cozy and very delicious.
Attentive service delivering piping hot quality food.
Very nice away from the hawkers on other end of Lincoln road. In the know kind of place. Honey cheese pizza is awesome. Generous wine pours decent French wine selection by glass. Nice servers. Relaxed no attitude.just go.
Always wonderful! Our favorite spot on SoBe.
As a beach resident, I frequent the restaurant at least once a month. The ambience always takes me back to Paris. Small, simple, yet elegant. The food is traditional and quite good. Try the mussels, escargots, and the beef bourguignon.
Nice little Bistro - but the food was mediocre and overpriced -
The food was very good, but the space was very tight. There was probably less than 6 inches between tables. Other than spacing, I have no complaints.
A great little French bistro. Food is always good. Nice neighborhood feel. Probably my favorite French bistro in Miami Beach. Service can be "comme ci, comme ca" :)
We are locals and booked for a quick dinner before a party not knowing there was only a 5 course holiday menu. Frances, the proprietor, convinced us to stay telling us we were in for a treat. We were thrilled we did as the food was exceptional. This is a great spot always but he and the chef really outdid themselves.
Very disappointed with the scallops. They where the size of a dime and over cooked. We were a table of 6 and no one really enjoyed the food. The pizza looked good. Wish I would have ordered pizza. Cute little restaurant.
Friendly and attentive service. Excellent food with good selection. Expansive wine list. Ambiance very similar to dining in France. Reasonable prices for portion and quality of food. Have already recommended to friends and would definitely go back.
Never had a bad meal here. Authentic French food. Very attentive service. Good wine list
I love this place. Not your typical South Beach restaurant but a atmospheric, French bistro with great food and service and excellent wine list. There are outdoor tables as well as the attractive interior.
One of the best restaurants in South Beach. We go there on regular basis for dinners. Not only the food is great but the service is top-notch. Francis, always around and make sure that we got everything we need & more. Great friendly & professional service. The French onion soup is just made right, it's the best I had in Miami. You Must try the escargot. They have different entrees, all the ones we had we loved. One of my favorites is the steak tartare, it's very fresh, delicious, and flavorful.
Tuna tartar and scallops were very good; nice ambiance but in the middle of busy area so not the most romantic; good for normal occasion dinner.
Three of my family members and I enjoyed a terrific French dinner on the patio of the Colette recently. I had the mussels and fries (moules et frites) in a white wine and garlic broth and they were the best that I had eaten in quite some time. Two of my party had the scallops with asparagus and they said that the scallops were tender and the veggies crisp. The fourth member had the entrecote with fries--though she couldn't eat it all, she did say that it was cooked exactly as she had ordered. Desserts were limited but our choices of crème brulee and chocolate lava cake were delicious. All in all, a great experience and, if we lived closer, we would definitely repeat our visit.
The atmosphere was cosy and the warm fresh bread arrived quickly. I had the entrecôte steak and frites which was delicious. I would happily return.
This use to be a top restaurant for me but unfortunately my last visit left me not wanting to visit it for a while. My sea bass was bland and not well presented. The service was awful. The waiter never brought our appetizer and took forever to check on us. The water bottle was $8 per bottle and the waiter never gave me another option (still or sparkling were the choices given). Not $8 for still. I even ordered more water and he brought a second bottle for another $8. I will not return. To make matters worst it was very warm in the restaurant.
Great dining experience, exceptional food and service,
excellent wine list. The very best French onion soup
we have ever had, even better than in France. Can't
wait to return!
One of the best French Bistros I've been to in the US. Food is fresh, tasty and amazing. Service is well above expectation. We'll definitely be back and will recommend to family, friends, or anyone visiting South Beach and looking for a great experience, amazing food & service and not a touristy junk.
I love this place and I really like the people that own it and work there but the food is not keeping up and it's becoming boring. It's time to revampt the menu and get some new dishes and daily specials to keep one's interest alive - how many times can one eat the same thing?
The desserts too, need to be redone - French desserts are supposed to be great and sunptous. Tarte Tatin is not a tiny bland soggy piece of dough with raw apples on top.
Collette ,une bistro tres superior
Paris (arrondisment 7) en south beach
We had dinner here. My wife had scallops which were excellent; however, my steak was cold and my fries were cold. The ceviche was just OK.
