Cole's was a great all-around experience. From the service to the food, beginning to end, everything was wonderful. Definitely worth every penny. We will be back. Thanks for making our birthday dinner enjoyable and memorable.
Coles Chop House was our favorite dinner during our week. The selection on the menu was great and the bone-in ribeye was exceptional. The wine list is excellent. The service standout was not our server but Carlos the serving assistant. You could tell he took pride in his work from filling waters to clearing plates. It may sound odd but he was the gem of the night.
Recommended steakhouse option. Variety of attire accepted. Service was okay, but not that attentive. Filet was prepared as requested. Spinach was delish.
Fabulous as always. They have the best fillet mignon, save room for dessert!
Whiskey bread pudding is amazing.
Tasty food, great service. Perfect for celebrations or just because dinner.
This is a wonderful place for celebrating a special occasion- an anniversary, a milestone birthday, etc. The decor and atmosphere set a warm and romantic mood. This place is pricey though - because everything is a la carte. Dinner for 2 - 2 Caesar salads, 2 entrees, 2 shared sides, 2 cocktails and 1 glass of wine - was $200. Overall, you are given enough food to leave satisfied and the service is great! The meal itself was delicious. My medium steak was perfectly prepared and they serve up the best Brussels sprouts I have ever had in my life. I would go back again, but only for a special occasion due to the price.
Just an awesome meal
Great service and food
As good as any NYsteak house
Great Service and Good Food. Decent Wine List but sparkling wine list is uninspired. The one thing there that I do not like is the Bananas Foster, it is poorly executed. It is in a good location with ample parking out back.
Every time we are in Napa we have to eat here! This is one of our favorite restaurants! The food is always cooked to perfection, without exception. We have dined here with large groups, friends, and just the two of us, they are always accommodating and without exception the service is not to be outdone! Enjoy!
Service was the best part. Food was a bit underwhelming given the location and expectations set in past reviews. Would probably not go back for awhile.
Amazing Service! Delicious Food!
The ribeye steak was crazy thin and just ok... had whipped potatoes with the dinner... not crazy good.... we ordered the filet and it was a good cut ...
The wait staff interrupted us every 5-6 minutes.... if I was alone I suppose that would be great but trying to have a conversation made it difficult... we were visited by at least 4 different people... it was highly annoying
Cole’s is always a favorite-we go pretty much every time we’re in Napa. Eric (owner/general manager) always greets us with a smile. It’s a lovely place & the service & food are top notch. Their hash browns are fantastic & we very much enjoyed the seasonal Brussel sprouts & the cauliflower along with our steaks. We always feel welcomed & taken care of & we never leave hungry! Yes... we had the bananas foster too! Lol. Great place!
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Cole’s. The food and service were great, including advice for a wonderful wine to pair with our perfectly prepared steaks.
Cole's has amazing food! You will not be disappointed, by the quality or the flavor of anything you order. Unfortunately, our server was not the best or the friendliest. Aside from that I would highly recommend visiting when in Napa.
This was my first time dining at Cole's Chop House and from the moment we walked in we were impressed. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar which was a good idea as the bar is a happening spot. Our bartender was hands down the best we've ever had, his name started with a "T", very attentive even though people were in line to sit at the bar.
We dined on the bone in rib eye and the lobster tail, a side of their hash brown potatoes and wedge salad with bacon. Everything was outstanding. The attention to detail by our waiter was exceptional...I ordered iced tea and was brought an extra glass of ice and my own carafe of tea, as soon as my glass of ice was empty I was brought another...this really impressed me because my pet peeve is iced tea without enough ice. My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and when they brought our dessert (Chocolate Brownie with Sea Salted Caramel Gelato) they had a candle and anniversary chocolate on top! The dessert was delicious!!
Hands down delicious food and exceptional service!!
We will be returning soon.
We were at Cole's celebrating a birthday. It was a great dinner and we had excellent service.
I took my wife here for her birthday, this place is pretty amazing, food was excellent, the wine list was extensive, had all price ranges, the ambiance is really good, the dress code was what ever you wanted to wear, from slacks to jeans and a nice shirt.
We dine here at least 6 times a year. Always excellent service and great food!
I mentioned Cole's at a winery we stopped at and was met with "yums" and the comment that it was a good place. Cole's did not disappoint. I like the fact that the server was able to decant one of our wines. He was able to accommodate and answer my friend's questions about what was safe on the menu for people with celiac. The lobster crab bisque in a pastry puff was divine. Had the filet and shared sautéed spinach, hash browns, and onion strings. All were delish. We did not feel rushed but yet very well attended to. Dessert was creme brûlée which was a topper for the evening. We were definitely full by the night's end and had enjoyed great conversation and food in a place that wasn't noisy even though there were several tables occupied.
We ordered the filet mignon that was cooked perfectly and the peppercorn sauce was excellent. The service was also very friendly.
We decided to visit Napa for a mini get-away, and more important to support the local economy after the devastating fires. We had dinner at Cole’s our last evening for a double birthday celebration for my Wife and Dad. We have been to Cole’s several times - and this visit was amazing as usual! We started with salads - the Wedge was the best we have ever had. For entrees, I had the New York Steak, my wife had Surf & Turf, and my dad had the Rib Eye. Everything was cooked to perfection - and that’s saying something as we all like our steaks different. For sides - we had Creamed Spinach and Cole’s famous Hash Brown Potatoes - both were more than enough to share. Even though we all said we were full from the dinner - we shared two deserts Cream Brulee & the warm Chocolate Brownie with Salted Caramel Gelato - each adorned with a birthday candle. Our server Mike was attentive and friendly and he knew just when to check in. Cole’s is what you would expect of a fine Steakhouse, and the prices reflect that but it’s worth every penny!
This was one of the worst dining experiences I have had. I am I the business and it was terrrible, but what made it even worse was the arrogance of the staff and manager on the floor. This was so overpriced and such bad service I am not sure how they are still in business. DO NOT GO OR RECOMMEND TO ANYONE. We have even told our driver for our trip to make sure he does not send anyone here.
There are two levels to this place. We were placed upstairs by the service entrance so we had all the waiters going by us. Window was next to us but view was to a parking lot. That is why 4 stars. The food and service was great!
Can't believe this was our first visit to Cole's - the food was amazing, perfect level of attention from our server - who was very knowledgeable about the menu, great atmosphere with a number of creative touches. Appreciated that you can read about the history of the building as you peruse the menu. Well done - looking forward to our next visit!
Amazing food service never disappointed
The staff were welcoming and accommodating to a special occasion for my wife and I. I only wish we could have stayed longer....
The spinach salad and broccoli side dish were both awesome. The lobster's meat was pretty tough and dry. You go to a steak house to order red meat and this is where I went wrong.
The wine was fabulous!
Lamb chops were delicious! Veal chop - excellent! We had brussel sprouts, asparagus and mushrooms as sides! All were prepared perfectly!
Overall Cole’s was a solid B. I’m a meat snob, I’ve done butchers work and have broken down primal cuts myself. The steaks were what I expected. They were good. You could tell they were prime. Service was so so. Late drinks, like 5 different people coming to the table. Random. Wine and cocktail menu was ledgit. Overall solid B. I’d go again if I had a groupon but not full price. $300.00 dolla tab for 4 peeps. Lame.
We really enjoyed all our dishes, but especially the steaks!
No doubt about it, Coles is the best. Great service and excellent cuisine.
Went here for the wife's birthday. Staff was very knowledgeable about food and drinks and very attentive. Food was cooked perfectly, loved the lobster and shrimp bisque. Wife got a free desert and the staff also said happy birthday to her as well. Will definitely go back when in Napa again.
Overall terrible service. We made reservations and were not seated until 30-40 mins later. Our waiter never checked in on us for drinks – I had to flagged the manager down twice to get a drink. Also, it was uncomfortable standing at the front desk waiting for our table and hearing all the other complaints. I would not visit this place if you’re from out of town, save your time and money!
The food was great.
However, the place did not meet our expectations for a top rated steak house. We feel they're under staffed and catered to large party's rather than us. Will not go back.
Best steak house/chop house in the valley. Could be happy forever just with the truffle fries?
Always great service, food and energy -one of our favorite go to restaurants
My husband and I went to Cole's Chop House for our anniversary. The staff was very friendly, accommodating and knowledgeable. I had the filet mignon which was cooked to perfection, my husband had rack of lamb, also perfect. We ordered three sides (we know it would be to much food for us but they all sounded soo good) creamed spinach, cauliflower (in a light sauce) and a baked potato. All delicious! The sides were very generous in portion. We had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. The food was great! My only hesitation is it is quite expensive. We know we would be spending a good amount of money before we went so it was not a surprise. It was a special occasion so we treated ourselves but generally speaking it's more then I care to spend on a meal. Just go knowing it will be somewhat costly.
It was an absolutely wonderful experience! Food was spectacular. The service was amazing.
One of my favorite restaurants in the world. Fantastic steaks and chops, great wine list, outstanding cocktails.
