Cole's Chop House Ratings and Reviews
Excellent food! I had rib-eye that cooked perfectly and hubby had rack of lamb that was cooked perfectly too -- both meals were excellent. We had excellent sides: grilled asparagus that was smoky and cooked perfectly, and the onion rings was perfectly crunchy but yet soft inside, and not greasy at all.
Cole's Chop House was one of the best dinning experiences that we have has in many years. While waiting for our table, the bar service and the drinks were excellent. We were seated right on time. Our waiter was knowledgable, friendly and really did a great job. Our steaks were cooked to perfection and tasted as good as any steak house we could ever hoped to find. And for once, there was a "real" desert menu. The so called "national steak house" chains cannot come close to the quality of the food and certainly not to the superb service. Yes, if we are ever in Napa, California again, we will indeed make another reservation at Cole's Chop House well enough in advance so as not to risk missing out. It is just too good!
We enjoyed dining at Cole's very much. We requested a booth but none was available. The hostess seated us upstairs which was very quiet and allowed relaxed conversation. Our meals, a filet and salmon, were prepared to our liking and delicious. The filet was among the best I have ever had. Tony, our server, did an excellent job. He remained in the background but was there when needed. We also enjoyed the atmosphere.
Cole's Chop House is a Napa Valley treasure. Whether you're in the mood for steak, pork, lamb or seafood - even vegetarian, they've got it all covered. They have the best rack of lamb and lobster in the valley. Our server, Patrick seems to know what we want and when we want it before we even do! There should be some kind of annual award in the valley for this level of professional, yet friendly service. Management always makes time to stop by to make sure you are satisfied with your experience. Right to the end, bananas foster, it's spectacular. Make your reservation today!
We went to this restaurant on the recommendation from friends. We were very impressed with the whole process from reservations, reminder call, checking in, wait staff the wine and of course the food. Food was incredible, all entrees arrived just as they were ordered. Wait staff was in tune to what was needed but we never felt as if they were hovering. Great experience all around.
The place was awesome. My steak had a little gas flavor to it, which I am not a fan of. I ordered wine and got a bottle well below what I wanted. I was curious why I was never asked about wine again and now I know. They were confused about what I ordered and didnt think we were interested in wine. Overall it was a good night and my company was impressed.
Our first time at Cole's and we had a great experience. Our waiter was Bryan and he was friendly and always at our table.
Food was delicious and hot, just the we like it served. The restaurant has a great ambiance and everyone was fun and
And the best vanilla ice cream!!
Filet mignon 10 ounce was something I could have expected from Outback. It lacked flavor, juiciness and texture was odd. The very high ratings and reviews Cole's receives is quite surprising. Luckily we had ordered mushrooms with our 2 filet's otherwise they would not have been palatable. The restaurant is very nice and service was good but unfortunately I will not be back.
We really enjoyed the ambience of this restaurant. The open ceilings gave it a unique look and feel, giving the somewhat formal restaurant a more relaxed feel. The service was fantastic - friendly, efficient and knowledgeable. The menu was great! Excellent choices and portion sizes that matched the prices. We have a favorite steak restaurant at home, where we are very used to receiving excellent, personal customer service. Cole's did a great job of matching it!
We had set up the reservation up on OT because of the menu and location (essentially next door to Napa Valley Opera House) but were relieved when several locals assured us we had made a great choice. No surprises -- good steaks, sides, wine list, etc. The atmosphere will never be confused with Ruth's Chris -- it's in a hipper, retro older style building. My preference in steakhouses is to bring all steaks out on a sizzler or very hot inner plate. They did not do this but the steak was plenty warm anyway.
We had a reservation at 7pm. We had to wait 20 minutes and were finally seated. But the entire time we were waiting around for our "reserved" table, the lady at the front treated us like we were nothing. No apology that the table was not ready, no communication as to what was going on. We finally felt like we were valued guests when a gentleman in the suit came over to our table to thank us for our patience. The waiter was great with description of all of the specials. The way he talks about each dish / food was mouth watering and made us want to order one of each... Excellent food, the steak and the beef Wellington were to die for.
I was in Napa on business and decided to give this place a try since I was craving a good filet mignon. So I got the petit filet and it was okay. Not the best I've had and not the worst. Still trying to figure out if it was worth the money though. One filet and one glass of wine ran me $56. And keep in mind they serve their filet by itself. Nothing else on the plate. If you want a side, veggie or sauce you have to order that extra. With as much as they charge for their food, you think they could throw in a few measly pieces of broccoli or asparagus. So I give this an all around three stars for everything. I wasn't impressed.
Cole's Chop House should be on your list of dinner spots, while in Napa. Great food. Excellent Customer Service. Very nice wine list. It was suggested to try the hash browns with onions. I thought that sounded very unusual, with a dinner meal. I gave it a shot. I was in love. A crusty outer shell, made with a clarified butter. Delicious. That is a must try.
I was there with a party of 6 and the food was pretty good but the waiter had a big chip on his shoulder and was very inattentive to our group though we spent plenty of money and it was all of our anniversaries. I must say the manager or man that stopped by to check on us when we first got there was great! I wish he was our waiter. Would have been a great experience if the waiter was better.
