Simply outstanding; we had duck, scallops, salmon and lobster crab cake; these were shared and were exceptional. Great food, atmosphere, service and beverages;

wine choices could be improved a bit, but were fine

I consider Coldewater to be my favorite restaurant. However, this time around, I was not impressed. I made a mental note not to go on Thursdays because apparently they do not have specials on Thursday. My biggest complaint was the service. The host did not acknowledge me and neither did the bartender. She was too busy attending to all the "regulars" at the bar. I sat there for about 10 minutes before I was asked if I wanted something. The food was good, but the server didn't hear me when I said I wanted my bread pudding to go. She brought it out plated and when I corrected her on it being a to go order, She said she would bring a fresh one. All she did was put the warm bread pudding in a container, with the whipped cream still on top. That was unacceptable because I would not be able to reheat it that way. I am hesitant to say that my experience was a race issue because I was the only african american in there that evening, but it does make me wonder. I will go again on another night other than Thursday and I will see how that experience goes.

I have been to Coldwater Cafe three times and every time have had exceptional food. Their menu is creative and delicious and always well-prepared.

Where do I begin....we have been coming to Coldwater for many years and tonight was again, outstanding! Katy Fischer does an amazing presentation and the food is always hot and delicious. Our waiter Zachary was tops!

We were a group of 4 couples celebrating a friend’s special birthday. Without a doubt, Coldwater Cafe is the prettiest restaurant within a 40 mile radius of Dayton. Menu is sophisticated & delicious, service is outstanding. The only drawback is that it is located too far away to dine there once or twice a week. Selfishly, we wish that they were located in Oakwood or Kettering.

This was the first time I have eaten here at dinner time. I loved my meal and my friends did as well! Our waiter was great and gave us really good information when we had questions. His recommendations were spot on! We will definitely return!

We started at the bar for happy hour. It is from 4 to 6 with all appetizers discounted by $4. There is a list of $5 drinks and wonderful wines. Chris and John are the best bartenders in town. We had the shrimp cocktail, mussels and lobster crab cakes all of which were delicious. We moved to the dining room for dinner but were so full from appetizers we decided to split a wedge salad, Scottish salmon and green curry with chicken. Kelly was our server, and, she was gracious and friendly. She even brought us a sample of the pumpkin curry soup. We ended with a slice of the amazing pumpkin cake. Excellent service and food. We will be back often.

Dining at Coldwater Cafe was an amazing experience! The food selection and quality was phenominal. Our service was impeccable. My husband and I will definitely be returning!

Loved it! Thank you for seating us when 4 out of the 6 of us arrived on time. My brother and wife got in terrible traffic coming from Columbus. We came from Cincinnati and the other two guests came from Ann Arbor, MI and Boston, MA. We will be back!!

Simply outstanding. Chris is a superb bartender. We arrived early just to have one of her cocktails before dinner. Our server, Crystal, was absolutely stellar. Always there when we needed something but never intrusive. She maintained a great pace throughout our dinner. All the servers are well trained from how to open a bottle of wine to knowledge of the menu and specials. Lauren has assembled a wonderful and eclectic wine list - best in the Dayton area. As ever, the food is simply incredible. The new seasonal menu is extremely well composed. Perfect location for everything from a business dinner to a romantic evening out.

Coldwater Cafe is one of our favorite restaurants in this area as to it easy to get to and not crowded and always has a good menu. We noticed a new outdoor patio area on our way in from the parking lot and hope it is available next year when the weather is warm.

Food was good, service a little slow, but we had a lovely entertainment which was a bonus!

We have had dinner at Coldwater Cafe many times and we are always happy with our meal. Ask to sit in the vault if they have an opening. It is literally in the old vault of the bank. Nice restaurant.

This place was amazing. Food was great, Meghan was our server and she was amazing. She went above and beyond and made the experience worth it. The appetizer of fries green tomatoes is to die for and the filet melts in your mouth. Overall a 10/10 experience.

Wow, first time at Coldwater and what a find. Great food - I had the Ostrich special. Started with a Moroccan soup and finished with the frozen peanut butter pie. All food is created and was excellent. Definitely worth the drive from Chicago.

Our food was wayyyy too salty for the average person. The salmon was fresh, ample, but britney. The waiter replaced it with another portion that was still too salty. The mussels were excellent as usual. What bothered us most, however, is the fact that everything is alarming carte now, reducing the overall value. What was also disturbing was that we asked for additional salad dressing but were charged 1.50 - not the money, the idea.

My wife and I shared the lobster-crab cakes--very good. She had the salmon entree and I had the duck breast, both excellent.
The cocktails were very good, as well, and the wine selection is excellent.

This is our go-to special occasion restaurant. It never disappoints.

Sea bass and duck were excellent- we had not been there in a long time and we thought we would give it a try again.

They need to update their menu. Waitress was nonexistent. Had to ask for refill. And had to ask for check.

I use to love coming to Coldwater. However the menu is stagnant.

I visit my family in Dayton once or twice a year, and I always make a point to taking them to dinner here. The food is excellent. The service is very good. It's on the expensive side, but, in my book, well worth it!

We celebrated our parents 67th wedding anniversary at your restaurant, and everything was wonderful! We had a delicious meal, and were pleased that the noise from outside ( the car show), didn't interfere at all with our ability to have conversation. Thanks for a beautiful evening!

We were not an “easy” table. 2 adults, 2 teenagers and a 6-year old. On top of that, there was a major event in town, and the restaurant was busy with folks from out-of-town. Service was impeccable, food was excellent and the staff rose to the occasion. Impressive.

Absolutely the best fine dining anywhere in the greater Dayton area. Service is simply excellent with a very well trained staff. The food is excellent. The chef combines wonderful, fresh flavors with an attention to detail that is amazing. The wine list has excellent values with carefully selected options. Truly an enjoyable fine dining experience.

We enjoyed the patio on a lovely Saturday evening. We were early for our reservation so enjoyed cocktails at the bar and were seated early. Server was great, food was fabulous, desert was just right and drinks were made just right. We will definitely be back.

We were seated right away per our reservation. It was our anniversary and the server brought us a complimentary Prosecco toast. Wonderful! Drinks, food and service were excellent! Best filet I’ve ever had!
