We had missed lunch so went when the restaurant opened. Cojo had a price fixed menu we tried. We were able to upgrade the entrees to salmon. Luscious meal. Squash (locally served) soup and greens with a light dressing, small portions of each for first course. Salmon was moist, flavorful, but the sides were a high note: quinoa with chive-basil pesto, wild mushrooms and broccolini. With a spritz of a light vinegar something. Wow! We both loved this entree. Then a scoop of sorbet, Ginger orange for me, chocolate truffle with brandy for my husband. They also have some flights: he had a whiskey flight after the sorbet. The wine that came as part of this were good: For A Song, 13 (Merlot-syrah blend) perfect with salmon. Service was friendly, informative and consistent.

Nicer small venue in a small resort town. Menu was yummy looking...wine list was good but not extensive. Waiter was knowledgeable and friendly, but could have been "less present." We would go back on another visit.

Entrees were very good, but very small portions, particularly for the high prices. Had we known, we would have ordered salads and appetizers

The reason I would not recommend this restaurant is quite simply ,the portions are very small and there is no value to the price charged. The food ,what little there was ,was tasty but NOT ample.

Average. Over priced food that was just ok. Nothing special. Don't waste your dollars.

We ended a day in Friday Harbor here. The small restaurant is really a fun place to relax with friends. We all had the chef's tasting menu served from 5 to 5:45. For $70 for 2 people you get soup/salad, entree, a bottle of wine, and amazing homemade ice cream. We opted to pay $8 more for the salmon. All in all an excellent meal at a great price.

This restaurant was highly recommended so we took our visiting friends. I was quite embarrassed after tasting four "glass" wines that were all less than sub-standard and finally opting for a bottle that turned out to be just "okay". The wine glasses were covered with dust. I have never been served wine in glasses that filthy - anywhere. Very sad.

Incredible place for a special occasion or just a weeknight. Every detail is very carefully thought out, from the wine list to the well-sourced ingredients, yet the atmosphere is welcoming and easygoing. Highly recommended! We'll happily be back.

Excellent food and service. Very small restaurant to the point where one couple was seated inches from the bathroom door. I would still go there again because the food and service is stellar

The restruant was cozy and the servers were attentive, my husband had the salmon and it was well cooked, my son and I had the halibut and it was over cooked, for the price we were not happy. They did offer to redo it but it was to late by then.

Food and wine was outstanding. Service professional. Unfortunately with only one other table in the restaurant at the time we were there we could clearly hear the "kitchen conversation" . A little distracting to our conversation and meal. Though we were seated right by the door to the kitchen.

Coho is one of those rare finds you hope to stumble upon in an exceptional destination such as Friday Harbor. The executive chef is a major talent who understands how to create harmonized layers of flavor and texture. Service is considerate and professional. Highly recommend the signature dish of coho salmon which melts in the mouth. Octopus is another knockout. Desserts are a must to try.

The service was really not good. I am not sure they understood that running a restaurant is actually a profession not just a hobby. Food was okay but not good enough to compensate for the horrible service.

This is a cute little restaurant with good food. It is unfortunate that we received such poor service. Even with a reservation made well ahead of time it felt like we were thrown into a table in a corner and left there for some time. The server did not make us feel welcome or even give us a drink/wine list until we had been there for awhile. Granted, the dining room was busy. Perhaps the restaurant needs to have more staff when there is a crowd. With the prices I would not expect "diner" style service. Disappointing.

This was an unusual situation. The night we had reservations we arrived and the noise was so
loud (a table of 20) that we decided to come back the next night. On the 2nd visit, we got a very
early reservation, 5:30, and found the restaurant already full. Later we discovered it was because they have a fixed price menu before 5:45. $70 for two dinners with wine. The wine was nothing special, but the entree was excellent and full sized. Included dessert.
I have doubts about how this restaurant is developing. The food is good but expensive. The service is hot and cold. Not what you would expect from an expensive restaurant. I don't know if we will go back.

We went for the early dinner, which included soup, salad, bread, choice of entree and ice cream or sorbet, along with a bottle of red or white wine. The cost was $70 for 2. It really was a great value. We both had the tenderloin, which was wonderful. The rest of the menu looked quite good, but was a bit more expensive. Highly recommended.

We made a reservation on Open Table. I was not able to change it on line, so I called the restaurant. They moved the reservation to an hour later. When I showed up, the hostess giggled about how they'd misspelled my last name. The restaurant is in a TINY house with only eight tables. They sat us and didn't acknowledge us again. After 20 minutes, we got up and left.

Staff was not too happy when we asked for a table that was not right in front of the entrance. We did change tables but there was a couple that were seated at a two top. The man was right in front of the restroom door and had to close it when people went in and out. I thought this was terrible. Get rid of the table. Food was okay but we were surrounded by water and fish was just okay. Chef put a sauce on everything--maybe red pepper on everything on plate. It was not a good combo. Quinoa cake was really dry. They were out of a white wine on their menu and then brought another that was not not chilled. The restaurant is small and seating is awkward. Not a keeper!!!!

It was a wonderful experience from the beginning to the end! We were greeted and they gave us an option on where to sit. We opted for a window table which got cleared. While we waited (3 minutes), they brought us 2 chairs. Menu is small but very original. I had the Halibut as a main course and it was fabulous. My husband had the red snapper and it was equally delicious. Atmosphere was wonderful and the waitress very helpful and friendly without being annoying!

We really enjoyed this small restaurant in Friday Harbor. The restaurant is very nice and I’d even say elegant. We had great service and excellent food. We both had the snapper special with risotto and wild rice; it was well cooked and nicely seasoned; terrific meal. I was also excited to find one of my favorite wines from a small village in the Rhone wine region of France, Vacqueyras, at a very reasonable price. The evening was terrific!

We have eaten here for several years when we visit Friday Harbor. The food is very good with imaginative preparations. I almost always order the octopus dish and this last time was the best ever - smoky and really tender. An intimate restaurant a little away from the center of town. Strongly recommended.

Untrained wait staff - she was picking up plates and placing dessert menus while one person was still eating dinner.
For the price, I expected more from the food.
Given all the choices on the island, I'd have a hard time recommending Coho.

I made a reservation a week out from going and it's a good thing I did. There are only 7-8 tables in the restaurant and no outdoor seating I could see. Several people walked in and were turned away because they were full up for the evening. The ambiance was great and several people checked on us, to include the chef and a couple of servers. We ordered some cocktails prior to eating and then the Chef's special, which is a good deal of a three course meal and a bottle of wine for $70. I repeat, it's a good deal. However, I could not see myself ever going there and ordering the food and paying regular prices. My girlfriend ordered the fresh salmon and, as an Alaska native raised on salmon, should could tell it wasn't fresh. I ordered the chicken entree and it was filling but neither dish would be worth the $35-40 you would pay for it if you weren't getting the chef's special. Additionally, their chef's special wine list allows for you to choose one from 3 whites or 3 reds. However, I found it a little dishonest when we ordered a 2010 bottle of white and the server returns with a 2014. The dessert was fantastic, a scoop of homemade ice cream in a small sugar bowl. Very delicious! On the whole we had a great time and would go again, but only if the special was still available.

We recently dined at Coho for the first time. We had seen some mixed reviews that went from very positive to so-so and have to now say we're in the very positive camp.
This is a small restaurant so quite intimate. Its easy to engage conversations with strangers between tables which is some of the fun. But the food was excellent, they had a very delicious Saviignon Blanc from New Zealand, and the deserts were outstanding. But just as important, the wait staff was extremely friendly, always smiling and checking if things were going properly, and just adding positive vibes to the overall atmosphere. We will definitely be going back.

The Coho is a rather small and quaint and caring about the details. We found nothing extraordinary about the food or presentation but the food, salmon and halibut were good, not overcooked or dry. Was simply a nice dinner with nothing, including the location to distinguish itself very much.

Coho used to be great. I've been a long time patron (3+ years), but have become sorely disappointed. I feel that the staff/ owners have become more concerned with reputation as opposed to quality of dining experience. On our most recent trip, the cocktails were horrible ( how hard is a vodka soda and whiskey sour???) service was the definition of slow, and the added "new" tables made for a crowd. I've always gone to Coho for the intimacy factor of hand crafted meals paired with ambiance, unfortunately that no longer appears to be the modus operandi of this establishment. My two cents - go back to your old model.... Pull out the 4 extra tables, two extra servers, and get back in the kitchen.... $300 is much better spent at the Duck Soup Inn.
