Coconut Cove at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Thomas Ratings and Reviews
The best calamari I have ever had. The fish tacos were outstanding as was the coconut Bellini. Great place to get a quick lunch. Right on the beach so ocean views aplenty! You think Ritz and dressy, not at all. Everything from shorts to swim attire. Sundresses are perfect. Give it a try for a great lunch with a perfect view!
Positives: Beautiful resort property (Ritz), waterfront, shuttle service on property to get to restaurant, good service.
Negatives: Quite a long shuttle ride as the property is HUGE, Food quality was not as great as we were expecting, very high priced for what you get, STRAY CATS walking around while eating YUCK.
The setting doesn't get any nicer than this. The restaurant is on the grounds of the Ritz Carlton in St. Thomas. It's next to the pool and practically on the beach. The staff is also extremely nice and accommodating. Unfortunately we didn't love the food. The nachos were good, but none of us enjoyed our main course very much. For a hotel that has a lot of kids, the menu wasn't teen friendly. Our girls had a hard time finding something they liked to eat.
If you go here for dinner just order the bar food. There is not a regular dinner menu as advertised on the Ritz website. We were given a choice between bar menu of burgers and pizza or Caribbean buffet. We initially said no to the buffet but were pressured into it. The food was disgusting and the bill came back 60 per person for this tiny buffet of gross food. Not pleased.
Beautiful setting at the Ritz overlooking the water. Great variety of food reasonably priced (for the Ritz!). We visited a few times during our week-long stay in St Thomas. We came back for the delicious Caesar salad topped with a good sized piece of lobster for only $19 extra. Seafood pasta as well as the fresh catch of the day - which is often mahi mahi - were delicious.
We ate here for Christmas evening, while staying in St. Thomas over the holiday. Figured... It's The Ritz, it's gotta be outstanding, right?? (We were not staying at this hotel)
The food was just... Meh. Nothing really to say about it. HOWEVER, I could not believe the way the parents let their children behave here! Running all around, being loud, shouting "NO" at their parents AND staff. Now, maybe this is how the rich raise their kids, but it completely ruined any chance of a romantic holiday dinner. I also could not believe that no staff members ever told any of these parents to make their kids behave!
VERY disappointing, Ritz Carlton! Would never recommended this place to anyone!
I took my mother and grandmother to this restaurant for a casual mother's day dinner. To avoid hitting the hilly roads of St. Thomas late at night (and to make my grandmother happy) we made an early dinner reservation for 5 PM. I called prior to ask if there was a special menu for mother's day, etc and was told that it was the regular full menu. Once there we were treated wonderfully and all the staff was lovely to us including driving us from the entrance to the restaurant so that my grandmother didn't have to walk. The waitstaff was also lovely but once there we were told that the full dinner menu doesn't start until 6:30 pm and only a light fare menu was available. I wish I would have known and could have changed my plans.
Had Christmas dinner here. The food and scenery was perfect. I felt sorry for the staff having to endure certain less than gracious guests on such a great holiday evening. Prices were reasonable for a nice meal on the island. Both fish dishes were well prepared. Slightly small servings.
