CocoBolos Mexican Grill & Cantina
*Patio seating is first come first serve*
Missed restaurant week decided to try lunch with a friend it did not disappoint us , service was prompt Bleaven was attentive , food hot and delicious will try dinner later
We know that it is restaurant week and that pandemic may have impacted your staffing levels, so won't say anything about the lengthy time to be greeted at our table and the even longer time to get our food. Fingers crossed that folks are soon willing to come back to the work force.
Did not like salsa, grilled shrimp very good rest is ok , overall medium
We went for restaurant week. The food was great! Will be back.
Food was just “meh”, but the service was great. Lots of other better Mexican food choices in KC.
Food was decent. Would I make the effort to go back? Not really. The service, on the other hand, was wonderful!! The servers made sure our waters were filled, our food was what we expected, and made nice conversation.
I Loved the smoky chipotle salsa, but the chips were burnt.
Service was fantastic, but the food was just so-so.
The expense of loading beans and rice on a plate (which went back to the kitchen for the dishwasher to deal with) instead of focusing on the main dish is an area the restaurant can work on.
Not planning to return.
The most bland food I’ve ever had.
Nice people, just not the food.
The guacamole dip was fabulous. Great value for rsturant week menu.
Our server was very attentive & nice. The food was fantastic. It was quite loud, so we decided to go elsewhere for our after dinner chatting, getting dessert, etc.
Love this place! Food is delish, they have a special Christmas drink/food menu that was fun but service was so so slow and they weren’t busy. Would have ordered more drinks if server would have come around, in fact we did order water refills….those never came! Yikes!
Cocobolos can be a "hit or miss" on service but we LOVE it when it's a "HIT" day! Server was exceptionally good and my salad was exactly what I wanted it to be!
I always forget about this place but both times I’ve been here it has been outstanding!
This is a fun, exciting atmosphere, service is spot on, food is very good quality. You can't go wrong for a fun night out with friends and family.
Attentive and personable service. Delicious meal.
We had not been here for a while - the service was great - the food was very good. I had shrimp fajitas and my wife had enchiladas. Nice job - all!
Loved the salsa, had a slight smoky flavor. The menu was more diverse and adventurous than the typical Mexican restaurant. We were very impressed and will be back again soon!
The taste of the food was a little bland. The party of 5 I was with all ordered something different, but everything seemed bland. One order arrived almost 15 later than everyone else’s. That item still appeared on the bill.
Always a great experience. Delicious food, tasty cocktails, and fast service. 👌
We made a reservation on OpenTable for Sunday night at 6:00 pm.
We were confirmed and arrived there only to find out it had closed at 5 pm.
This is a terrible way to run a business.
Ruth, After speaking with you on the phone, I just wanted to say we appreciate your willingness to give us another opportunity! We look forward to your visit soon! -Liz and the entire team at Coco Bolos
My quesadilla and the chips and salsa were amazing. Service was going good and then it went downhill. I ordered a margarita and then after I ordered a second one it tasted completely different from the first one. The bartenders make the drinks completely different and the second one was horrible. There was so many people in the restaurant that we couldn't even barely get out and her waitress was overwhelmed. She started forgetting everything we needed and asked for. Probably will not return here.
Very disappointing. Firstly, it’s reasonable to expect that a “build your own margarita” option that involves numerous super-premium tequila options will not come out as an icky-sweet 21 ounce monstrosity. A stomachache in a glass, literally. The stacked enchiladas were among the most flavorless I’ve ever tasted at any restaurant anywhere ever. The politeness and relative attentiveness of our server almost made our experience merit two stars…almost but not quite. CocoBolos fits neatly in the ever-growing list of ultra boring JoCo restaurants that remind us that, while there are certain benefits to living in the ‘burbs, quality cuisine is certainly not one of them.
Second visit. Food wasn’t very good either time. Server was spread too thin and could not keep up. The “barbacoa” was just fatty pork roast. Fajita quesadilla was good
The food is great so is the service. Seating outside was very nice --of course, the weather helped. I also liked the fact that they have staff that speak Spanish.
The steak taco was terrible — meat so full of fat that
you could barely eat it. The original margarita was perhaps the worst margarita that I have ever had .
We enjoyed the happy hour on the patio. The only complaint really was the slow service. That seems to have been an issue with Cocobolos since even before the pandemic unfortunately though. Always feel like it’s a hit-or-miss.
Sat out on patio during a busy night with Catbackers group. Our waitress was really good and attentive as busy as it was. The Happy Hour prices were great. Food was average ,(Cocobolos nachos and steak tacos).
We sat on the patio on a Friday night. We were pleased to get on rather quickly. As I joined my friend, it was a little awkward. Thank goodness we are not large. The table was squished in. I couldn’t sit down without pulling the chair out and it hitting the guest behind me. Our service was below average. We had to ask for everything. Please can we have more water, please can you take the dirty plates away, please can we have more chips with our queso. There was not one proactive step taken. There wasn’t a problem getting it. But, we did have to ask for steps of service. Food was great.
Great food and outdoor patio
New server brought us the wrong thing and seemed to be more interested in talking with co-workers versus doing her job.
Good experience overall. The salads are delicious and the black & white pizza is too. Its not easy taking care of a large group, but our server did pretty well.
We were able to get a quiet(er) table for 7 in the room in the back. Our server was excellent - personable with the perfect level of attentiveness.
The service was excellent and attentive. The food was okay. The margaritas were lacking.
Jose Peppers has better food. CocBolos is very loud and the salsa is bad.
We arrived and our Open Table reservation wasn't found. I had to show the confirmation on my phone. We were then seated at a very small 4 top table in the bar that was really probably better suited for 2 people. 3 of 4 in our party are over 6feet, so needless to say, the table was way too small. There were booths and larger tables that sat empty our entire visit.
Chips were over fried. Entrees were fine. The Las Cruces potatoes were delicious.
Service was great, which is what saved the experience for us.
Really good food - it just seemed like our server had way too many tables. She didn’t put our drink order in until we reminded her AFTER our food came. It all worked out, but I felt like we were barely taken care of and we had to ask 2 or 3 times for things. Overall, it was good food so that’s important.
Great atmosphere, great drinks, good food, and great service!!
Great food! Meals were out fast and the service was impeccable.
Had a great dinner, plan on coming back for brunch soon!
