The service was good and the food was good but it was missing that something special for me.
I hope I will be there shortly again. Thanks to manager Garibay, the receptionist, and server Randi for their continous generousity.
Overall the restaurant was good. Was a bit disappointed, when it was never mentioned that we were celebrating a birthday. This was included in my reservation request. Everything else went well.
Great service, amazing food.
Our waiter had an attitude at first and started to warm up towards the end. The coffee was cold and bland, the food was over cooked. I would like to try give it a second chance and go again to see if perhaps I can be left with a different experience and a better impression.
The food was great as usual but this was the worst service I have experienced there and it was not very busy when we went. We had to ask at the front for our check. Our water and soda glasses we empty for most of the evening. Fix it!
Our server -Michelle was excellent. She was very attentive and pleasant. We will be back
The food is amazing. The ambience is beautiful. I love this place. Have visited many times and will continue to do so.
def would go back , food is awesome and prices very reasonable
We sat outside and it was not noisy. Good food though drink service was slow. Very attractive decor.
The food was outstanding. My wife and I went to celebrate Valentines Day early. We were very pleased with the food and service we received from Abraham. The bread and beans as a starter are such a great treat to start.
Took my wife to an early Valentine Dinner. Had been awhile since my last visit that really was fantastic. Had high expectations for this round again but just fell abit short on our expectations. Service was ok but nothing special. Food tasted good but not great. The ambiance is still there so still made for a nice night. Just expected a bit more.
Very disappointed, will not recommend to any of my friends.
Food is mediocre! I had the New York Steak and my friend had the palomilla. We also shared a seafood tapa which might as well be called seafood GUM, so chewy! Staff is friendly, however, the lack of training is evident " including the bartender" worst martini I've ever had!
The waiter was polite and accurate with orders. Nice dining view
Birthday dinner for Four
I took my girlfriend there for her birthday and we had a great time and our waiter was very helpful with the menu and he recommended some fabulous dinners to try and we loved them verde much and I’m looking to going back in the near future
Had a bad experience 3 years ago... dive then, it’s all been perfect. I love their attentiveness!
I've been to the Coco Palm before but this time found the experience to be not so great. Although the room had a nice view from the hills, it was VERY noisy. So much so that the music playing over the speakers was barely audible. The only feel of Cuba was when I visited the restroom where I could actually hear Cuban music over the speakers.
As for the food: The ropa vieja meat was flavorful BUT very tough to chew. Traditional ham crockets were not on the menu so we had the chicken crockets: soft and mushy. When I asked for picadillo....a traditional Cuban dish, I was told it was not on the menu. On the positive side, the black beans WERE delicious and the white rice was good as well. The service was also excellent.
Actually being from Cuba, I've had Cuban food all my life. For the prices charged here, the food in general was not up to par. Overall, very disappointing. There are much better Cuban restaurants out there.
One last comment: I found tortilla chips, salsa, and guacamole on the menu. Really?! I thought I was in a Cuban restaurant NOT a Mexican one.
Coco Palms offers incredible views, great food, and authentic food!
Always love coming here. Great food, great atmosphere, and an awesome view!
Great food at a good price!
Delicious, comfortable and very romantic for the both. An unforgettable experience.
We had our 10th wedding anniversary dinner on the 26 of December 2018 and the food was excellent. My daughter got married there five years ago and everything was exceptional. We will come back again and again.
Outstanding dinning experience. Great service and food in wonderful setting.
Great staff, great service. Food was amazing overall great experience. Will be back
I always enjoy my visit to Coco Palm. Outstanding food consistently served here.
Michelle is superb. Her recommendation is spot on. The view and the glass of wine go hand in hand
The Coco Palm has delicious food, however I was am bit disappointed with the customer service. In my reservation I indicated we were celebrating our 5th anniversary in which we got married at the Coco Palm, as well as my husband is battling cancer so this anniversary is extra special to us. When we arrived there was so indication of the note I made about our anniversary nor did the waiter ask if we were celebrating anything special. When we ordered our drinks with the appetizer, the drinks took a long time to arrive and our appetizer arrived with the main course. Plus the waiter asked me 3 times the dish I ordered. I could understand if it were busy, but our reservation was 2pm and it was not busy, with many open tables. The waiter was just not attentive and simply did not look happy to be there. Again the food was great, but the staff need to work on their customer service skills.
Celebrated our anniversary with a window seat. Great service, food, and views as the sun set. We'll be back!
Food and drinks werea bit pricey but the ambiance and service was great. Our steak was just a little over cooked but we would gladly go back for a special occasion.
Everything was fantastic until the server left our food on the serving table next to us, before serving us, and walked over to sing happy birthday to the table behind us.
Excellent service with top quality food. The dishes were beautifully plated and nice sized portions for lunch. They serve lunch and dinner menu all day.
Service was poor, food not good with dated menu items. Nice view.
Great views of the Pomona/Chino Valley. Cuban food with a nice presentation. I had the sea bass which was beautifully served atop a bed of pureed cassava with carrots, green beans and zucchini. The fish was perfectly cooked, but the sauce was a bit too sweet for my palate. My husband had a seafood medley which was a bit hard to eat (lots of shells to crack) but tasty. The bean dip they serve with the bread is yummy. We also had an ahi appetizer that was delicious--very light and refreshing. Unfortunately, they had several large parties and the servers were quite busy and distracted. We felt a bit ignored at times. We sat for 30 minutes waiting for bread and for someone to cork the bottle of wine we brought ($10 corkage fee). It was our anniversary and that was noted on our reservation, but they did nothing to help us celebrate. Most restaurants will usually offer a complimentary dessert or champagne. Our bill came to $120 including tax and tip...and we brought our own wine. It's a bit on the pricey side and excellent service is expected at a restaurant such as this.
Great restaurant, great food and service was great!! Definitely I’ll come back
Great Sunday brunch! The food and music were awesome as usual. I just love that braised oxtail, the paella and the lechon. I should come here more often...
Great menu options. I had the oxtails which is not common at most restaurants in the area and they were amazing! I really appreciate the menu options at this restaurant. The wait staff was extremely professional and seem very well trained to provide exceptional customer service.
I'm Cuban and a good cook, so I'm very picky about eating Cuban food out. We went to the Coco Palms for my husband's birthday and we had a great time. The service was friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly (we had a reservation but it was a Wednesday night so not super busy). My husband is pescatarian; the rest of us eat meat on special occasions. I've read the reviews about this place not being "authentic" Cuban. I have to say, I ordered traditional Cuban dishes "Rabo Encendido" and "Ropa Vieja" and these were prepared authentically, traditionally, and deliciously. There are dishes that are fusions of other cultures, but I think that is great. Every cuisine in the world continues to develop, but Cubans often demand that their cuisine be frozen to what they were eating in the 1950s. I love the influences of Mexican and Asian cuisines on the menu. Smart for a California restaurant where all these cultures contribute to our vibrant culinary scene. The space was comfortable and we had a lovely view. I will definitely be back.
My wife and I stopped in last minute and we're treated very well. Food and service were great, and so is the property. Beautiful views. Can't wait to go back.
