COCO Asian Bistro + Bar Ratings and Reviews
This visit was great but was their two weeks earlier and had trouble making waiter understand what kind of saki i wanted and i was prepared to pay higher but as they bought me saki i did not like they really argued about taking it back finally i just said yes to one and only had one glass from bottle. I did not order saki this time.
This place was awful! On a Saturday night there were 2 tables with customers- the rest of the place was empty. There was a tacky lounge singer doing karaoke. Awful. Took 15 minutes to get drinks. Each sushi item on the menus had a lot of cheap fillers like cream cheese, cucumber, asparagus. Menu actually listed 'imitation crab'. Prices were high for sub-par sushi rolls.
Sushi was over priced and the Thai food was a tasteless. Service was very, very slow. The busboy stretched over my meal to take up an empty plate. Quite tasteless and I was shocked as an armpit was in my face. Took nearly 1/2 hour for the drinks to be brought to the table and the excuse was they were too busy.
Very noisy and the staff was nonchalant.
Arrived for a 7:15 reservation. Quick seating. Water and waitress showed up quickly. Drink order went well. Dinner questions answered without having to go to kitchen. One of our diners is vegan, had no problem ordering. Food came quickly and was very tasty. Live entertainment was not to loud. Normal volume conversation at dinner was not over-wrote by singer.
I would go again.
We were seated promptly. Friendly staff. My husband and I shared Coco spring rolls which were very good. I had the lobster pad thai which I thought would be pieces of lobster. It ended up being a lobster tail which you blended in yourself. It was the best version I ever had. My husband had the mixed vegtables with shrimp which he enjoyed. We ended our evening with coconut ice cream and fried bananas. We shouldn't but we did - we're on vacation.
We love this place. Always great food, ambiance. We were dissapointed to come on a Sunday night and learn after having ordered and accepted that they were out of the whole fried snapper, what we come there for, and not told upfront. Otherwise, an awesome place as usual!
Their sushi is a piece of art and other foods delectable. Although I had dinner with my daughter, The booths are very private so good for a romantic dinner. You completely forget that you are in a strip mall. For smokers the outdoor section is quite nice considering it is set up in front of a parking lot. The live entertainment is the only thing that I would leave out at times.
It's hard to rate the experience because what we were able to eat was phenomenal. We had the red and green curries. We made a reservation on Open Table so I wasn't sure why we had to wait if when we get there we are on the same wait as everyone else. No use for using open table. They seemed overwhelmed so I asked the hostess if we should go some place else - she said no. We waited a long time for table service but server was very friendly. We never got the sushi that was ordered but did get entrees. Flavor was fantastic. The restaurant just couldn't execute and should have taken reservation only or stopped the walking. Disappointing that we couldn't experience all the food. Needed more staff and better preparation.
First they had way too many tables in there, my pregnant wife had problems moving around . I myself couldn't even go to the bathroom without moving a table or asking a half dozen people to get up. The food would have been good had I gotten it and my wife's food came out and she ate and I waited almost an hour and never got my spicy tuna roll .. Finally I cancelled the order got our check and left . I get it Valentine's Day is a big deal for restaurants but when your customer leaves hungry and unhappy its time to rethink it.
