   Although we have given it 4s - 4 and a half would be more accurate. Went for Sunday lunch. It was good and have already recommended it. Tucked away - hidden from passing traffic: so it's very quiet and perhaps not easily found. Plenty of parking rural location. Separate bar and impressively spacious wedding facilities. Criticisms: more toast with your excellent pate please, online menus perhaps a little too "cheffy". All in all - go for a morning coffee and book an enjoyable meal!

   Came up as a fine dining choice and the menu was varied. The food was fine. The seating area was hot and musty (was the hottest day of the year though) so maybe choose a cooler day! The cutlery was a bit under shined / ? Washed? The bread was lovely (sour dough) and the fish main was good too. Soggy chips :( Nice drive out but not one I'll repeat. Nothing wrong though...

   Good food pity we were the only ones in the restaurant need other diners to add to the room otherwise a very nice evening

   We used the Hotel and Restaurant in the past and was pleasantly surprised that it had gone up in both the standard of food and service. We had a delightful meal and although off the beaten track we would recommend that it is worth finding this gem.

   Dined at Cockliffe house on 7th January 2014 for my birthday. It was faultless in every respect! Whilst we expected the food to be ok, in a typical hotel-restaurant-type way, it actually surpassed expectations at all levels. Food was perfectly cooked, tasted absolutely fresh and had fabulous flavours. The menu was short (4 choices for each course) but that was a good thing as it meant that the chef could concentrate his energies on cooking everything to a top class standard. Service was also excellent - unobtrusive, efficient, yet friendly. We also thought the bill was VERY reasonable! Beautiful building too - we will definitely return and will also book a room next time. Can't recommend Cockliffe House highly enough. Thank you!

   We had a very enjoyable lunch at the Cockliffe Country House Hotel. The great service started the moment we were greeted at the doo and continued until the moment we left. The food was very good and beautifully presented and everyone of our guests enjoyed their afternoon. The best surprise for us was the bill, very reasonable indeed for great food and great service we experienced. We'll definately be returning for more.

   Cockliffe is set in a lovely location and the food is excellent (except my dessert), but I found the service to be quite poor. The staff weren't very attentive and never checked to see if the food was ok. They were also a little over familiar and slightly unprofessional, one of the waitresses just put the plates on the table wherever/however it was convenient for her without thinking that I might actually want my plate in front of me in order to eat from it. The starter and Sunday roast were both excellent, but the sticky toffee pudding had been reheated in the microwave a little too long, and was a bit rubbery. The one other thing that let the Cockliffe down were the gardens, which needed attention.

   We dined on a Monday night, so we had a nice quiet meal. The staff were attentive and welcoming. All our food was fresh, delicious and well presented.

    Dinner at Mise en Place on Fulham Road. An intimate restaurant in a convenient South Kensington/Chelsea location. Food was excellent; wine list a little short on reasonably priced wines. The bar area has a wall mounted TV which remained on during the evening, a distraction which seemed a little out of context with the location and quality of food.
