We have been coming to the Cock n Bull for years, but it was our first brunch. Delicious and filling. Service was really good.

The menu that was emailed to me had carb legs on it but when we got there they didn't have any crab legs. We were disappointed with that. Next time we will make sure what is on the menu is there.

My husband and I, along with 2 friends who have never been to the Cock n Bull, came for the King Henry's Feast (which was a favorite of my husbands years ago)We arrived for 5:15 reservations, seated immediately. However, we were seated in Harts Tavern at a small table meant for 2 comfortably, maybe 3, in a corner. We each only had 1 plate, waters and 2 alcoholic drinks. I was going to order a drink later but didn't because there was no room for it. We had to put condiments/the extra napkins on an extra chair and the lobster bucket on the floor. Very uncomfortable. 1 lobster cracker for all 4 of us. Our server was very nice and we figured it was because of the special. Then we noticed that there were open tables in the Cock n Bull portion and people in Harts were not being seated that way. (The most they had were 5 people at 2 tables pushed together and the 5th person was a 2 year old). After that we asked to be moved. They placed us at 2 tables right near us that had a previous party of 4 at it. Again, our server Jackie was very nice. She apologized for the inconvenience, explained that in the Hart portion 1 table can usually accommodate 4, and helped us move. The bill was $226. We had $250 in gift cards. Gave her those along with $20 cash. If it wasn't for the gift cards and Jackie's disposition when we asked to be moved, we would have left.

My family of 6 went for Fathers Day dinner for the King Henry’s Feast. My favorite buffet of all time featuring All you can eat lobster and crab legs. The feast used to be every Thursday years ago now it’s only special occasion. We were was ecstatic about the feast and within 5 min it changed to utter disappointment. The first thing we noticed walking to our table was the lack of crab legs. We were sat and we walked to the buffet and there was no crab legs only knuckles which aren’t even worth cracking for the tiny amount of meat. After asking the waitress 3 times to find out if there was legs she finally returned with a no. I asked for the manager why this was falsely advertised and he proceeded to blame the chef for changing the menu. After going back and forth and expressing our disappointment he offered 15% off the check. Then the service....... the service was horrendous we sat without drinks for 20min at a time waited forever for our lobster to be brought out then had to ask 3 people for butter and lemon. The lobsters were throughly over cooked. The buffet looked like a hurricane went through no one was attending to it or cleaning it up. The deserts were thawed frozen pie that were disgusting. The bathrooms were unattended and a mess it’s quite obvious the restaurant was not capable or able to handle the volume of customers. Truly a disappointing dinner especially at the $49.99 pp pricing. I’ve been to King Henry’s feast at least 20 times and this is by far the worse I’ve ever seen it. Honestly it is the only reason to go to the Cock n Bull and they’ve ruined that. Sadly I will not be goin back next year and I wouldn’t recommend ever visiting the restaurant until they change their current management.

King Henry's feast is usually a great time. Father's day was overcrowded, food trays were often empty, prime rib was beyond rare, it was honestly just about raw :( There were often no plates in the buffet line. We have been there during this event other times and the food choices were better and stocked better. The lobster was worth the visit though. The staff was trying hard to keep up with the crowds, I think they just overbooked! Would go again as this was a one off for this restaurant!

We had the King Henry's Feast. For $50 ea. it was good but not great. I would have rather had no lobster and more side dishes. The wait staff and general staff were excellent. Could not have been nicer or more accommodating.

I was very disappointed this year. The selection of food was not as good as the previous years. Each year something changes, for one the dungness crab claws were served instead of the entire cluster. The craving station only had prime rib, usually it's turkey or chicken as well. The buffet selection of the food was terrible, the fish and potatoes were bland, and the chicken was dry just to name a few. Even though the main attraction were the unlimited lobsters which was surprisingly good, I wish I could of enjoyed more of the other foods as well, being that lobster is not fulfilling. I've been coming for the fest for years now and this time was disappointing. I don't think I should return for the next one in September.

Went there with family for Father's Day lunch. We found out it was brunch buffet only. My daughter is gluten free so it was hard for her to find things to choose. The food was was very bland tasting and our drinks were watered down and expensive, as was the cost of the buffet doe the quality. We were very disappointed. I would not recommend to anyone or go there again.

Scrambled eggs on buffet were dried out on buffet. It occurred twice during our brunch. Chicken salad warm. Caesar salad had all dressing and cheese laying on top. It needs to be tossed. Omelet chef was very nice and prepared fresh scrambled eggs with cheese. Carved beef was very good. Cocktail shrimp need to be cold and iced throughout the brunch hours.

Comfort food was delicious. Portions were large enough that we could have shared an entree. Service was good. Location was great for us while staying at the Golden Plough Atmosphere is nice but could be better with lower lighting and more dividers to break up the large spaces and create a more cozy feel. Prices are moderate. Overall we were pleased and will return.

Open Table and Cock n' Bull did not tell me that on Mother's Day (and other holidays) that the restaurant transforms into a fixed priced brunch service served buffet-style. Imagine my surprise when we were herded to the second floor meeting rooms where hundreds of other people ate under fluorescent lights and sterile ambiance. The staff was great and the breakfast and lunch buffet were good and ample, but it was not the Mother's Day dinner experience I wanted to share with my family. The restaurant required a non-refundable credit card reservation as well. We were trapped. Clearly, these cattle-call holiday brunch days need to be called out on Open Table.

On the positive side, we were seated promptly and the server took our drink orders in a timely fashion. The buffet was well stocked and the choices were excellent.

On the negative side, there were quite a few dirty dishes on the dish table next to the buffet - that is, the "clean" dishes had food particles on them and I had to return several on my two trips to the buffet. The floor was so sticky my shoes stuck to it as I walked - on both the carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces, and steps leading up to our dining room. I understand it was a busy day, but the day must have started with some degree of foodstuff on the floors in order for it to be so sticky by 4:30 pm.

This was our 4th year for Mothers day brunch. We were seated at the bar area, so far walk, esp for my son on crutches. Was quiet. They kept running out of plates, we had to wait each time we went back for more. Food was not as good as previous years.

Enjoyed Mothers Day brunch with my kids. Very busy and very rainy day. Hostess was not nice. Guess she was stressed. While several parties with reservations “Checked in” and had to wait others walked in and since a table was ready she seated them first. Big parties got put ahead of everyone else. When same size party as us came in and were seated upon entering and we had been waiting I asked and very defensively the hostess told me we were next. Made me feel like I was in the way standing on the steps when I was trying to get out of the way. Waitress was excellent. Food servers very nice. Ran out of plates and had to wait several minutes. Food restocking wasn’t kept up very well but tasted good.
Would probably enjoy more on a normal day that wasn’t so busy. We will go back. Enjoyed everything but the grumpy hostess.

I really like this place and have been going here for around 25-30 years. We went for mothers day and had a really nice time. We love the atmosphere and the service was great. I was slightly disappointed with the buffet this time though. It seems the buffet has shrunk a little over the years and one or two of the selections was cold when it should have been at least warm. It was a little pricey too especially for not even including coffee. I'm sure we will be back again.

We went for Mother’s Day and now I know why we usually stay home. It was overcrowded and the food was not replenished quickly enough on the buffet. I feel like the restaurant was not fully prepared for the number of people dining that day. I have given Cock and Bull spectacular reviews in the past but this particular time l was disappointed. The wait service was wonderful and attentive which made the experience tolerable.

Mother's day brunch has been a yearly event at the cock and bull, but this will be our last time. After a $200 bill for a subpar brunch with less choices, no particularly good food, there are many better options.....we will not repeat or recommend

Very good meal, more than enough food. Both of us took half of our meal home. Value good for amount of food. Service wasn’t great, mediocre had to ask for a spoon for my dessert and was given a soup spoon. Very surprised how empty the restaurant was so I don’t know why the amount of dinner guests were spread out amongst the many rooms at the restaurant. I will return since the food was good

The food we had was overcooked, dry and appeared to have sat open for quite some time. We sat at picnic type tables when we had requested the main dinning area. The noise level was terrible. We have eaten at the Cock N Bull several times and never had such a bad time. Very uncharacteristic of our previous visits. I seemed like the goal was to stuff as many people as possible into the restaurant. I think we would have had a better time and better food if we had gone to a fast food restaurant . Sorry to say it but a really bad time .

I have been to this restaurant before but was quite disappointed this time on Easter Sunday. Understand it was a holiday--but the restaurant shouldn't lower it's standards. We were 4 people seated in a dark booth appropriate for 2 people in the dark bar--near the bathroom which was disgusting and smelled. We barely fit in the booth but when I asked to be moved, the hostesses basically said tough luck. First they couldn't find my reservation made via open table and said that the reservation number I had was inadequate. Then they told me my reservation was for an hour later than it actually was. Thankfully two of the party had already been seated because apparently my reservation was correct after all. It seemed to be high school kids managing the restaurant seating and reservations--there was not an adult in sight--and they didn't seem to know how to handle the volume. The food was just okay. I would not go there again on a holiday--too bad because it could be better with more care taken.
