Laura did an excellent job as server. The recipes for everything are good. Unfortunately, the pork chop was dry but the scallops were good. Corn bread was very good. Prices are good

Very disappointed that they were out of both specials and regular food on a not so busy Saturday.

Open Table and Cock n' Bull did not tell me that on Mother's Day (and other holidays) that the restaurant transforms into a fixed priced brunch service served buffet-style. Imagine my surprise when we were herded to the second floor meeting rooms where hundreds of other people ate under fluorescent lights and sterile ambiance. The staff was great and the breakfast and lunch buffet were good and ample, but it was not the Mother's Day dinner experience I wanted to share with my family. The restaurant required a non-refundable credit card reservation as well. We were trapped. Clearly, these cattle-call holiday brunch days need to be called out on Open Table.

On the positive side, we were seated promptly and the server took our drink orders in a timely fashion. The buffet was well stocked and the choices were excellent.

On the negative side, there were quite a few dirty dishes on the dish table next to the buffet - that is, the "clean" dishes had food particles on them and I had to return several on my two trips to the buffet. The floor was so sticky my shoes stuck to it as I walked - on both the carpeted and non-carpeted surfaces, and steps leading up to our dining room. I understand it was a busy day, but the day must have started with some degree of foodstuff on the floors in order for it to be so sticky by 4:30 pm.

This was our 4th year for Mothers day brunch. We were seated at the bar area, so far walk, esp for my son on crutches. Was quiet. They kept running out of plates, we had to wait each time we went back for more. Food was not as good as previous years.

Enjoyed Mothers Day brunch with my kids. Very busy and very rainy day. Hostess was not nice. Guess she was stressed. While several parties with reservations “Checked in” and had to wait others walked in and since a table was ready she seated them first. Big parties got put ahead of everyone else. When same size party as us came in and were seated upon entering and we had been waiting I asked and very defensively the hostess told me we were next. Made me feel like I was in the way standing on the steps when I was trying to get out of the way. Waitress was excellent. Food servers very nice. Ran out of plates and had to wait several minutes. Food restocking wasn’t kept up very well but tasted good.
Would probably enjoy more on a normal day that wasn’t so busy. We will go back. Enjoyed everything but the grumpy hostess.

went for mother's day brunch
can't say enough about the food selection, if you can't find anything you like then there must be something wrong with you.
Breakfast selection were wonderful and the lunch selection just as good.
very crowded but we had a reservation which was honored right on time.

I really like this place and have been going here for around 25-30 years. We went for mothers day and had a really nice time. We love the atmosphere and the service was great. I was slightly disappointed with the buffet this time though. It seems the buffet has shrunk a little over the years and one or two of the selections was cold when it should have been at least warm. It was a little pricey too especially for not even including coffee. I'm sure we will be back again.

We went for Mother’s Day and now I know why we usually stay home. It was overcrowded and the food was not replenished quickly enough on the buffet. I feel like the restaurant was not fully prepared for the number of people dining that day. I have given Cock and Bull spectacular reviews in the past but this particular time l was disappointed. The wait service was wonderful and attentive which made the experience tolerable.

Mother's day brunch has been a yearly event at the cock and bull, but this will be our last time. After a $200 bill for a subpar brunch with less choices, no particularly good food, there are many better options.....we will not repeat or recommend

Very good meal, more than enough food. Both of us took half of our meal home. Value good for amount of food. Service wasn’t great, mediocre had to ask for a spoon for my dessert and was given a soup spoon. Very surprised how empty the restaurant was so I don’t know why the amount of dinner guests were spread out amongst the many rooms at the restaurant. I will return since the food was good

My Food was good -my wife’s was just ok-
The Bar was very limited.
Bartender came out to “explain “ it away.
But overall love the old school elegance and the very warm friendly staff!

Our server Sheryl was awesome! Very friendly and answered all of our questions. We had the fries mozzarella, beef barley soup, chicken pot pie and pork porterhouse to eat. They were out of this world. Didn't have any room for dessert but can't wait to go back and try those. Can't say enough nice things about this place.

I have been to this restaurant before but was quite disappointed this time on Easter Sunday. Understand it was a holiday--but the restaurant shouldn't lower it's standards. We were 4 people seated in a dark booth appropriate for 2 people in the dark bar--near the bathroom which was disgusting and smelled. We barely fit in the booth but when I asked to be moved, the hostesses basically said tough luck. First they couldn't find my reservation made via open table and said that the reservation number I had was inadequate. Then they told me my reservation was for an hour later than it actually was. Thankfully two of the party had already been seated because apparently my reservation was correct after all. It seemed to be high school kids managing the restaurant seating and reservations--there was not an adult in sight--and they didn't seem to know how to handle the volume. The food was just okay. I would not go there again on a holiday--too bad because it could be better with more care taken.

Went to Easter Brunch. The food was not the right temperature mostly everything was cold also the food did not taste that good. They were not refilling the foods fast enough so there would be no potatoes so you would have to wait and go up again then something else would be empty. Not worth the amount we paid for it all. Will not be returning here.

Loved our server. Most food was delicious. Omelette was good and cook was so personable. Very disappointed in crab claws and shrimp. Soggy and waterlogged. However tuna salad was goo. Variety of food to choose from. Will always go back but pricey.

Went to their Easter Sunday buffet with our family of 6. Made reservation early for more than a month and instead put us to a small table with crammed space, probably for not more than 4 in the pub area rather than the regular dining room or similar. My husband was so upset that we requested to change our table which they did. But need to make a fuss. Also gave us the check without asking. Really felt not welcoming by them.

When reservation made informed 1 guest in wheelchair and when they confirmed week of i again informed about wheelchair and was assured its noted. When we arrived we were advised we were seated in the dining room across from hostess therefor my 32 yr sister in wheelchair was unable to access buffet to get her own food. Just was a inconvience for her. Was disappointed that the wheelchair could not be fully accomodated . Big disappointment . No manager even came over to see us and apologize.

I have been her in the past several times over the years and the menu never changes or at least with the last two most recent visits. The service was so slow and it was a Thursday night with many tables available. The waitress couldn't have been any nicer. I had finished my meal and half way through, I ordered a second glass of wine. Finally the wine came. Too much time went by between ordering French Onion Soup and the time it was delivered. I have had much better. Go to the restaurant next door if you want good French Onion Soup.
To be honest, we were using a Groupon and it expired that day. Its a nice restaurant, but I personally have no reason to go back unless I am in Peddlers village with family or friends and they would want to eat there.
The restaurant has large working fireplace to the right as you enter. It is situated in Peddlers Village and many people have come here over the years.
For us, there are too many other restaurants in the area. For others?, enjoy!

The cock and bull is an old restaurant but that added to the ambiance of the restaurant. The hostess and our waitress were very nice and attentive from start to finish. I was not impressed with the food. The French onion soup was not hot and it had a sweet taste I didn’t care for. We both ordered the scallops for our main course and they were very good but small and the polenta that came with them was not hot. I don’t know that we will go back in the future.
