Made reservations well over a month in advance.

RESTAURANTS: it is not FAIR to overbook your restaurant to the point that the customers have a terrible experience especially when it is a holiday get together!

First, you squished us in so that our plates were in between the cracks of the table. Then, we
sat 20 minutes without anyone coming to our table. I grabbed someone and advised that no one had been to our table yet. So 1/2 hour later a waiter finally showed up.

1/2 hour no bread. No drinks.
40 minutes later I finally got my one and only drink for the rest of the night. Others went to the bar during dinner to get additional sodas because the waiter never brought them.
No rolls? You brought us all cornbread?
Requested clams for appetizer- out of clams?
December 16th I would think a restaurant would be prepared.

The waiting for everything was ridiculous.

An entire table behind us got up and walked out because when they finally got their food, it was cold.

One of our dinners had cold food, but needless to say there was no point in saying anything.

Dessert- out of one of the desserts on the list too.

Ok. Finally get check- wrong. Another 20 minute wait to get it fixed.

Terrible experience!
And we got to pay 20% gratuity for awful service and we had to go get our own drinks or go thirsty!

I made a reservation a while back with my wife's birthday noted.. Of course, that was ignored. The service was fine, but the food was amateur. Chicken pot pie ($17!) was basically all potatoes. "Porterhouse" pork chop, a basic $2 chop at the grocery store was completely dried out and tasteless. Beef burgundy ....blah. just disappointing all around. Will never go back.

The service was horrible. We had to continuously flag down the waitress to place our food order, to order wine, to get clean silverware, clear dirty dishes, etc.

When we went to the salad bar, there was no lettuce, and many of the accompaniments were in need of refill as well. When the entrees were served, the food was not hot, and our party of five had to wait over ten minutes for all entrees to be placed on the table.

This is not the dining experience it once was. Tragic.

We enjoyed a very pleasant evening here with friends who visited for the first time . The food was delicious , the ambiance great and the service the very best . I would be a regular customer here , but I have to drive 2.5 hours to get here , so once or twice a year it is a special treat for us to dine at the Cock' n Bull .

I've dined at Cock 'n Bull many times before, including a couple of years ago at Christmas time. Because my friend and I enjoyed our meal there then, with lovely views of the holiday lights outside, pleasant service, and good, even if somewhat overpriced, food, we decided to visit again for dinner on a Monday evening this December.

This time we actually never got as far as the food. There were cobwebs hanging from the chandelier in the lobby. There was no place to put our winter coats except on the back of our chairs in the dining room. Our table was uncomfortably close to others and in the way of the serving staff, who had to squeeze by to get to most of the dining room, and I had no view of the beautiful lights I had come to enjoy. There were three tables with lovely views, but all three next to our table had not been bused. Disgusting! There was no one to do the busing, except the waiter, who was too busy to clear the tables, let alone do that and wait on us. We left and ate elsewhere.

On first thoughts, it seemed like a nice place to have dinner. Upon arriving there was a nice fireplace in the waiting area. Our reservation was for 6:30 and we arrived a little early. No problem there. We were called to our table, nice overlooking the lights and village. Waited about ten minutes before our waitress arrived, she apologized for the long wait as she didn't see us??? She left the menus and returned in less than 5 minutes to see if we were ready to order. She seemed rushed. We ordered our appetizer and main meal. We asked if our wine could be brought out with our main meal, yes no problem. Appetizer was good, fried calamari. Our main meals were Double duck in a oriental sauce of some kind, basically it was soy sauce reduced to a thick mess and very salty. My wife asked to return it for something else and the waitress balked..My meal was prime rib with mashed potatoes and veggies. The plate came our as if it was at a firehouse BBQ. The prime rib was good but it was hanging off the plate because the mashed potatoes were piled up so hi it took up half the plate. The waitress spilled the au jus onto my pants leg and said oops!!!! and chuckled. Not very professional..We asked for the manager and she said he was to busy to attend to us..Over all a nasty place to have dinner. Would not recommend this to anyone....

This was a lovely stroll down memory lane and the staff and hosts were extremely accommodating when our party of 4 needed to be a party of 5 (my fault upon planning). We had an amazing meal for three adults and two children and we all left happy and full!!

Made reservations with 3 other girlfriends. We had an extra person join us and they were very accommodating. Large windows for beautiful views of the holiday lights. Not a huge selection of food, but good comfort food. The chicken pot pie and beef burgundy are 45 year staples and were outstanding!!!! Only wish entrees included a salad and maybe bread while waiting. Our food arrived very quickly even though the restaurant was very crowded! Would definitely return and even try their adjoining burger restaurant "Hart's".

The service was fine-the staff was dressed sloppy, shirt tails out, some unbuttoned. Hair was not tied back neatly. When offered something to drink the server listed the choices but we were Not told of any upcharge- when the final bill was presented- somewhat sticker shock. I left a voice mail today for the management. I’ll be interested in if they call back or not. As a family , we have been going there for their Sunday Bruch for many years- I really fell disappointed & probably won’t be returning in the future.

Food was overpriced for the quality. The restaurant overlooks Peddler’s Village, so that was kind of nice during the holiday season. I’d toy dont have have children with you (we did), consider opting for one of the Pubs instead.

My three daughters had never been to Peddler’s Village during the holiday season. So we paid a visit to see the lights & do some gift shopping two weeks prior to Christmas. We had a 6:30 dinner reservation and were not disappointed. Great food, great service and with the first snowfall of the season absolutely the best holiday ambiance. A wonderful night!!

Had a 7:30pm reservation was seated at 7:50pm. The servoce wasn't great, and I think it's because they are overworked. They could use some additional wait staff. There was a problem with my dish, but they did offer me another dish which came quickly.

We did not have the best experience . We had a reservation for 7pm but didn't get seated until 7:40 and didn't get our food until 8:30. My friend's food was cold and had to be sent back. We were there to see the gingerbread houses but wanted to eat dinner first. My husband was very upset that we were in the restaurant for 2 hours and basically missed seeing the gingerbread houses, let alone the rest of peddlers village.

Had a 6:00 reservation, showed up at 5:50 and seated by 6. Hostess was telling customers that they weren’t taking walk-ins, resos only. When we sat at our table there were lots of empty tables and most were still empty when we were done. We figured they were way under staffed. We later realized that there were about 50-70 people going downstairs to eat for the theatre show so that may have explained it. Our server Donna was nice, handled herself well considering she was very busy. Seafood pie and filet Oscar (special) were good but the special could have been done better for the price- mash was under seasoned and not quite hot enough, hollandaise was lacking body and flavor. It just seemed like butter yolks salt and pepper. Cannoli dip was missing that one “wow” ingredient and also any sign of pistachio crumbs. Too many complaints for the money but I guess they can get away with it in that location.

Went to Peddler's Village for the evening to see the lights, do some shopping and have dinner on a Wednesday. I made reservations for 5 pm through Open Table just to be safe and I'm very glad I did. The old part of the dining room was full, the new part was not being used due to the fact they only had two servers working all the tables. Our waitress has only been on the job for a little over a week but did a pretty good job keeping up. The food was good . The view from our table was beautiful .

Had a 7PM reservation and was seated fairly close to that time. However, we waited for 20 minutes and no waiter/waitress came by to take our order or ask if we needed anything. We tried to flag down any nearby staff member and were ignored. Out of frustration we got up and left. Doubt anyone even knew we were there.

Prime rib was delicious, mashed potatoes needed some butter, veggies were overcooked. I've never seen a steak plated on top of sides before, this seems sloppy for the price. Calamari were great, side sause was too sweet and unusual. Waitress was constantly doing the drive-by half second stops. Beers took ages.

Restaurant was EXTREMELY busy (booked to full capacity) upon our arrival and the server seemed accordingly flustered. Server took our order promptly, but did not notify us of the specials. She brought our food quickly after we ordered, but did not bring us the cornbread until we were well into our meals (she had, in fact, never mentioned that our meals came with cornbread). We attributed this to business and did not hold it against her. Food was good, but not spectacular. We had to wait a long time after we finished for her to clear the table, ask us if we wanted dessert/coffee, and bring us the check.

Keeping in mind it was a Saturday night in December (holiday season) it took over 15 mins to see our server for the first time, 15 mins to get drinks, it took 45 mins to get a salad, we never got offered bread (others around us did ) & when our entries arrived they were cold. Our server was totally over loaded and at times we never saw her for 20mins at a time. We will not rebook during the holiday season.

The food was very delicious but it took 51 minutes from the time we were seated to receive our salads. Our reservation was for 6:30 but we weren't seated until 7pm...so no one wanted to wait that long for our salads! Our waiter was very slow, seemed overwhelmed. Other people were sat after us and had different waiters and received their salads before us. I asked for mashed potatoes with my filet but it was delivered to the table with fingerlings. We asked for a well done cheeseburger for my son and the center was bright pink. Once the correct food came to our table, it was delicious. I had a filet, my husband ordered the beef butgandy, parents ordered the pork porterhouse & chicken pot pie. But took way too long for our waiter to take care of us. Will try again next year at Christmas when we return to see the beautiful outdoor Christmas lights.

This was my first time at the Cock and Bull. We had a reservation and sitted on time. We also had a great view of the Village. Food was wonderful, the only issue was that we believe we were forgotten as we waited for over an hour for our salads. Small and large groups that sat down 45 minutes after us, had their main meals before we had a salads. And we were only 2 people. We noticed one other table that was also ignored. My suggestion would be MORE server help during peak holiday time. Our server may have had too many tables.

Made my annual Christmas trip to Peddlers Village with friends this past weekend. We had lunch at the Cock n Bull as usual. Everything was wonderful. The food and drinks were fabulous. We even splurged on an Apple Pie Waffel for desert. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The only drawback was a large family next to us with several out of control children. Can't wait to go back next year.

We were seated 15min after arriving at our reservation time. And then waited at our table for a bit. We dined at 8pm (after the dinner rush - little reason for the delay) Service was good, but a little slow. A table near us left after getting no service and the next couple sat there waited a while too before flagging down their waiter. The food was not what we remembered.... the chicken pot pye was bland and soupy. And the menu overall had fewer selections than expected. It was nice to see the Christmas lights but from our table in the middle of the room, it wasn’t a great view. (And we noticed the floor was wobbly.... not sure that’s the right word. Every time a server, host or guest walked by, our table and chairs shook.) For a place that has a lot of history and memories for us... we were disappointed. I hope things improve.
