My boyfriend and I came here on a cold Saturday night for dinner when staying at the Golden Plough Inn overnight. The food was delicious and atmosphere perfect and quiet for a chilly January date night. We sat by the window and had a fantastic view of the lights all throughout the village still decorating for the holidays. Overall the best part of our meal was our waitress, Donna U!! She was extremely friendly and inviting right from the start suggesting the perfect warm apple cider cocktail which we both had and was delicious. She was super informative about all the menu items (my boyfriend asks A LOT of questions and she answered each one honestly and with detail and was patient). In talking with her throughout our meal we got to know a few things about her and her us and she really made our dinner experience top notch!! We can't wait to come back and will most definitely be requesting her service again:-) She made our night and we were still talking about her the next day!! Thanks again Donna!!

Dinner for 3 on New Years Eve. My wife's Beef Burgundy tasted great, but not enough beef, and way too much brioche. My son's Chicken Pot Pye was delicious. My Traditional Turkey had two flaws. Not enough gravy. The whole plate was a bit dry, especially the mashed potatoes. Also, I was never served the cranberry sauce that the menu promised. I would only recommend the restaurant for a quiet lunch while shopping, maybe.

The eggs Benedict were horrible. The English muffins were beyond hard. Cold hollandaise with no yolk in the egg. I shared with the manager that their was a hair in my food and she showed very little concern. The atmosphere is beautiful but food is well over priced.

We can only speak to the Sunday Brunch offered:

This was our first bruncheon date at the Cock 'n Bull and we are glad we made the trip. We recommend that each diner look at the online brunch menu to check the standard food offerings for preferences, but we assure everyone that it provides an abundance of food selections for different personal preferences.

Beginning with the spacious dining venue with a welcoming atmosphere, the truly attentive staff and ease of "making the rounds" at the food stations made our experience all the more satisfying. Wide selection of fruits and deserts. The brunch was well worth the price person.

Perfect place to dine after strolling thru the Christmas lights in Peddlers Village. The view is spectacular - outside Christmas lights contribute immensely to the ambiance. Food portions are so generous, and everything tasted delicious. There were 3 of us - me and my two teenage children. They loved it too. Our waitress, Donna, was so warm & attentive, genuinely kind & responsive -- she added a great deal to our overall enjoyment and positive experience. We liked her instantly, and despite having many other guests to take care of, she always made sure we had what we needed. It was a truly lovely evening, and I would recommend it to anyone visiting Peddlers Village.

The restaurant was a little drafty, but then again it was in the lower teens and the front door was opening a lot, so hard to keep the place warm. The appetizer was interesting had a little Asian twist with the sauce. Dinners were spot on and we cleaned the plate. I would definitely come back here next time I come up

A great place for any occasion dining but the atmosphere is wonderful. At Christmas time it is like a wonderland with all the lighted trees outside. The food and have been consistantly outstanding and we have been coming for 20 years.

The Beef burgundy was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the seafood pot pie, but it was more of a soup/chowder instead.

The holiday sangria was delicious! And our server, Donna, was awesome!

We went for the Christmas Eve Brunch and the food and service was wonderful. The food selections available on the buffet was vast so there was something for everyone. There was a combination of breakfast and lunch food choices as well as a dessert table.
Have decided to make this our Christmas Eve tradition for years to come.

Our reservation kept on getting pushed back until we finally had to argue with the host to get seated. We were seated over 30 later than our reservation. The waiter was overwhelmed with many tables and had to do everything from pouring water to taking orders, and serving the meals. It was not his fault that the service was so poor. Our food did not arrive for over an hour after we ordered. For the price of the meals, the restaurant should have had more staff to help out. We would never return and would caution others from coming here.

Food was OK
Waiter was very slow
I had asked him to wrap up the rest of my prime rib
When he brought the check I asked where is the prime rib he said he forgot and threw it out then he went back to the kitchen and brought it out in a box and it looked like he took it out of the trash

The service and food were horrible. When telling the waitress my order she just cut me off and did not let me finish my sentence. The salad bar was not up to par with the price of the meals. When the food came it was cold and the meat was tough. However the view of the Christmas lights outside was beautiful.

Although the the atmosphere was beautiful, all decorated for the holidays, and our waitress was extremely pleasant....it all went down hill. There was a horrendous, sewer-like smell near the downstairs bathroom. My friends husband found that there was sewer line uncapped...obviously there was a problem. When he went the front desk to complain..he was told “I didn’t notice”. Then, after being told there was this great salad bar, we walked up to an empty bowl of mixed greens, and empty dish of what looked like Italian dressing...it was a sad looking salad bar. On top of that the waitress was extremely slow returning each time. The table next to us was very upset and unhappy as well. Our one app ended up served to us at barely room temperature, and the meat and cheese board had dried up meat, a few pieces of cheese, and what looked like dried up ‘gherkins’. After waiting forever for our entrees...she finally brought them out and said that she inadvertently put our orders in incorrectly. After all of this...we weren’t offered a free dessert, free coffees, or even to take an app off the bill. Nothing.
We loved the light displays, made the best out of It, and will return to visit all the shops, but will never return to the Cock n Bull, or recommend it to anyone.

Upon arrival we were about to be seated at a table in the corner. It was pointed out that we had made reservations and requested a window view of the Christmas decorations. The best they could do for our party of four was in the middle of the room. Not what we asked for, even tho there were two tables for four with a view that remained empty while we dined. . The server came right away and took our drink order, explained the specials and shortly thereafter returned with our drinks. One of our party ordered an appetizer which was on the menu, but they had just "run out of". Not good for an early seating. At this point we ordered our meal. After a reasonable amount of time our meal came. I had ordered the turkey. The meat was dry, the mashed potatoes were lumpy and stiff, the vegtables were over cooked. Others stated that the vegatables were not cooked enough. We ordered a second beverage this time, and it took a considerable amount of time to get. The waitress apologized, seemed stressed and overwhelmed with the other tables in her charge. We finished our meal, ordered coffee, and one in our party ordered desert. We also asked for two boxes for the food not finished. It took a long time, and she only brought one bag to carry it in and so we asked for another. It took a while as well. When paying for the check we requested that it be split evenly between parties. She came back with the bill split in half but rounded up to the next even dollar. While it was less than fifty cents it was the point and when brought to her attention she said that she was not supposed to split checks and to make it easier she just rounded it up. If you aren't supposed to split checks, don't do it. All in all for the reputation that this restaurant has the whole experience was unacceptable. I will find another extablishment to dine in when I visit Peddlers Village. There are other places to eat within easy walking distance and that is where I will take my business.

Arrived at the time of reservation and the restaurant was only half full
But after 1 hour we were still waiting for our food. The restaurant did fill up AFTER we had placed our order but can't blame it on crowd.
We did go to a meager sals bar but still sat hungry. Our waitress was attentive and went back at least twice to the kitchen. But she had nothing to serve us! After an hour we thanked her and walked out. The restaurant did not even offer to comp a drink and we never saw or heard from manager. Waste of time !

The service was terribly slow. We sat for 15 minutes before our server even came to the table. Two of us shared a dish and it took the server several minutes just to bring an extra plate. By then, we had improvised. Lastly, we also asked for a refill on water that never came. The view was beautiful, but the menu is limited and the service was poor compared to other nearby restaurants. Would not recommend dining here.

I made the reservation because of the proximity to Peddlars Village, which is where we were meeting our family members. The website didn't make it clear when the Sunday Brunch hours were, so when we arrived we were a little disappointed to find no options available other than the buffet.

I don't know if it was because we were eating a little late (12:30PM reservation), but the buffet food was not very fresh, and, frankly was just "OK". Salmon had definitely been out too long, scrambled eggs were covered in a hard "skin", bacon was greasy and tough, pastries were stale. The selection of foods was limited to say the least. It just wasn't worth the $29.95 price tag.
Service was not really required as it was a buffet, so our only interaction with the waitress/server was when she took a drink order and at the end, when we got the bill..... and this even turned into a "strange" incident - my brother-in-law and I split the bill and gave two credit cards. My brother-in-law received a text message that said his card had been charged a certain amount.... which was higher than the total bill. When the waitress returned , she handed us two bills for signing, each with the correct "split" amount, but the receipt she gave my brother-in-law was very crinkled, like someone had scrunched it up and thrown it away.... He asked her about the text he received and she mumbled something about AMEX charging a higher amount initially but it gets corrected in the actual charge (.... like with hotels).... but it appears that something odd had occurred.

Next time I think we'll meet somewhere else.

My sister and I have been going to Cock n Bull for years to celebrate the beginning of the holiday season. We usually get a 9:30 ish seating and usually go the first Sunday in December and have always had a GREAT time. Unfortunately, other commitments made us not go until the 3rd Sunday and we could only get an 11:15a seating. UNFORTUNATELY the experience this time was not so good. The person making omelettes clearly did not want to be there, he was sloppily attired, the station was a mess, and he had the flame up so much on the burners that the omelettes were burning. He had to remake mine twice! The Hollandaise for the eggs benedict was ice cold, no attempt to keep it warm, just sitting there in a pitcher. Some of the food in the chafing dishes was ice cold----did it sit too long in the kitchen before being brought to the dining room?
The wait staff in the "garden room" were attentive and pleasant.
