Food was terrific, and at least one classic dish we've enjoyed in the past has been improved upon (Beef Burgundy). Timely, attentive and friendly service. We (three of us) felt very comfortable with the Covid-19 precautions. With fewer tables — and spaced out — it was noticeably quieter than normal. Great views of the Christmas lights. Love the crab cakes — in appetizer, sandwich and entree form.

Everything was great, however, it did take quite a while to receive our food. Considering it was not that crowded due to pandemic restrictions, not sure why food took so long to come out.

We usually plan a day trip to Peddlers Village around this time every year. We always have lunch here at the Cock and Bull. This year was a bit disappointing in the menu and the service. The restaurant is always lovely. I am sure that we will return next year. Looking forward to dining here again.

We would definitely eat here again. Unfortunately (all probably due to current constraints) our waitress was overwhelmed, our orders were missing items but what we had was very good. We will try again when life goes back to normal.

My dinner was delicious, I had the special, sauerbraten
Chicken pot pie changed, crust is terrible
No ambiance, empty tables, place looks closed
1 waitress, so poor service, not her fault
She did the best she could
I know we are going through a pandemic, but a flower and candle on table would be nice
Overall it wasn’t worth going there for our anniversary dinner
I was disappointed

Boneless wings not edible, overcooked and dried out.
Onion soup was good but very small container. chicken pot pie was good but again very skimpy for cost.
Service was pleasant but very slow since there were only two servers running two dining rooms.
Dining rooms very tired and outdated.
We are in no hurry to return.

It was a great night to be outside. The outdoor seating was well spaced and we had an excellent waiter. The timing was good not rushed but not ignored either. We had a few drinks and dinner and dessert. Unfortunately the pulled pork I ordered was over salted and was after a few bites I couldn't handle much more. The fall drink specials were amazing and the dessert was very good. Wish my dinner would have be better prepared.

My father is handicapped - walks with a cane, When we walked into the restaurant the older hostess (there were 2, a young woman and older woman) ran to the door and said in a frustrated voice "Let me save you some steps, we are all booked up" to my father. She definitely could have phrased it better. When I stepped up to tell her we have a reservation (after confirming they had a handicap accessible table 45 minutes earlier) she said OH!

After walking us to the furthest table inside (in the corner near the windows) we were ignored by our waitress (older, black dyed hair). When she finally got around to us she was rude, short with us and downright unprofessional. She kept forgetting the water we requested, spilled soda she poured from the side of a pitcher on my sister, had to be asked 3 times for ranch dressing for our onion rings when I specifically said I did not want the dressing stated on the menu, hurried us along only to be annoyed when I stopped her from shoving the check at me to ask for 2 coffees and a vanilla ice cream.

When we finally did get the bill I figured a 20% tip because I know times are tough and we are all stressed and paid the bill in cash....this was after flagging her down 3 times before she finally came over and said "are you ready now".

I imagine she was a New Jersey Diner waitress or bartender in her prior life; she definitely needs to polish her people skills especially since she only had 4 tables to wait on.

The food was cool, the bags of chips almost impossible to open.

Upon leaving I found the women's bathroom lacked soap. I stopped both hostesses and let them know and the older woman just shrugged her shoulder.

Needless to say, we won't be back and we will tell our friends about the terrible service.

What a late lunch dining disaster!
1) Restaurant waiting area was not following COVID 19 protocols. Hosted station lacked plastic shield and hostess lacked wearing a ppe mask. Patrons waiting and hostess were not follow social distancing.
2) Restaurant did NOT honor an Open Table confirmed table reservation. Apparently, walk-in diners were given preference over reserved patrons. We were told no tables were available in the Cock & Bull restaurant, despite the hostess confirming our reservation.
We had to settle for a table in an alternate tavern,
We find a restaurant NOT having a confirmed reservation table available totally unacceptable.
3) Our waitress attire did include ppe mask. However, that’s about all that was good.
We ordered 4 simple late lunch sandwiches. Unfortunately, all 4 orders came to the table
wrong. One sandwich was ordered with cheddar cheese + bacon with no lettuce and tomato. What came was a sandwich with both cheddar AND American cheese but no bacon. Waitress only acknowledged the missed bacon at the table. She eventually did come with missing bacon but sandwich was now cold.
The second order was to have NO cheese. Instead it came with cheddar cheese.
The third order was a chicken salad wrap with pickle and chips. Instead of chips it came with french fries. Order was to come standard with chips.
The fourth order was a chicken salad wrap with guacamole. Instead, a regular chicken salad wrap was furnished with NO guacamole.
ALL order oversights should have been inspected in the kitchen BEFORE serving.
Never again will we be visiting the Cock & Bull restaurant and I would certainly not bother searching-out this restaurant.

I have been here several times prior albeit not during covid regulations so the ‘empty’ ambience not their fault. However, the very limited menu was disappointing but waitress explained only 1 kitchen operating, limited staff etc. when you only offer 7 entre choices-you need to nail them. The chicken pot pie (which they are known for) was sad looking & contained about 3/4 cup ‘soup’-maybe 3 pieces of tiny chicken with a piece of puff pastry laid on top (better description might be ‘deconstructed’ pot pie so you don’t expect an actual pie crust. Husband had fish/chips. Clearly frozen-at least maybe if it were batter dipped it might of met some standard? At least the waitress was nice. I checked out menu on line before going & didn’t see any notation of limited menu? Won’t be back.

Cock n Bull has been a favorite of mine for years. I was even more impressed by the service and food during these difficult times. The food was delicious and the waitress was friendly and professional. Four of us shared a very large table, allowing for social distancing. The atmosphere was quiet and comfortable. We enjoyed the shrimp on the apple walnut salad, the special chicken and summer squash salad, the crab cake sandwich and the chicken sandwich. I was always very impressed by this restaurant and doubly impressed by the cleanliness and service this time.

It was a great evening for my wife and I, food was good and atmosphere was also very good.

But the service and the way we were treated by our server Donna was tremendous. She made us feel so comfortable and was very very knowledgeable about the restaurants food. Donna was one of the nicest and best servers we have had in a very long time.

We will be back!

Going out for dinner used to be something easy to do. Now with the COVID recovery period, you have to plan a bit more, with the hope that the food will be worth the risk of going into a public restaurant. This past Sunday night, we decided to go to the Cock and Bull restaurant... something my wife and I held off from a long overdue wedding present we received. We chose the Cock and Bull because we remembered how good the food was, and how that made us feel. But this is not the same Cock and Bull we knew. Not at all... except for the lovely woman who was our waitress. She made us feel welcome and was a delight to talk with. Unfortunately, everything past that was not welcoming, or good. We had a simple order for dinner... the crab cakes entree, and the New York strip steak.

In a nutshell, the crabcakes were mediocre, and the steam was perhaps the toughest I've ever had the challenge of trying to eat. The corn bread that was supposed to come with the crab cakes came out 5 minutes after the entree was served, and the vegetables that came with the crab cakes were cold... as were the potatoes that came with the steak.

I called the restaurant the next day and spoke with Jennifer, one of the managers. She was very pleasant to speak with and understood our disappointment. She told me she would reach out to their GM, and as of today, we have not heard from him. I also called and left him a message on Wednesday, but again, no response.

In these times where going out to eat is more involved and sadly cautionary than it ever was, having properly prepared food that tastes good and is served fresh is not too much to ask for. And if a customer reaches out with concerns like these, the least management can do is reply promptly. And hopefully try to make things right.

Very disappointed in the Cock and Bull... except for our waitress and the cornbread.

Always heard great things about this restaurant. Made reservations looking forward to a great meal. Was extremely disappointed when we got there to find they are serving burgers and sandwiches now. That is not the menu I saw online. Service was very slow and my fries were cold. It’s a shame... used to be a great place. While I understand times are different now, it’s should have been clear that there was a new menu. We will not be going back.
