Great environment and quality of food/service. If you want a nice romantic place with an amazing view of the ocean/sunset this is it in Cabo! However be prepared to pay the price. Open table needs to review the 300 to 500pesos pricing from their listong. Main dishes are around 1000pesos woth starters around 600. Dinner with just 3 entrées no drinks was $160 out the door....
Service was slow, almost non-existent. We had to go up to the hostess to request our bill. The restaurant wasn't even that busy. About half-full. Our waiter never came by to check on us throughout our meal. We had to get up and flag someone down to get water or a drink.
The lighting was horrible! It was so dark we had to hold up our candles through our entire meal to see our food and find our silverware. I understand and love dimly lit restaurants but this was pitch black.
Our waiter, when he did show up, was sweating profusely like he just went for a 10 mile run in 100-degree weather. They should have them wipe their foreheads so as not to sweat in the food.
The views were fantastic (before it got dark) and the waves crashing around us was awesome.
The food was so-so. Maybe our expectations were too high? We were staying at Pedregal so it was definitely a let-down coming from there. Service was not friendly in the bar either. Very snooty. They dropped off drink menus at our table and never said anything to us when we first got seated.
4th year in a row we have gone to Cocina Del Mar. We bragged to our friends about this place for years and were excited to all go together.
Service was a notch below our 3 previous trips. We combined our party of 4 with my friends party of 4 to make a table of 8. For some reason, this provided a challenge with having us served efficiently.; very slow food and drink service.
Our appetizers were well prepared. For dinner, I ordered the Lobster pasta and the lobster had that pasty chewy texture which meant the piece was not freshly cooked that day. However, my wife's rib eye steak was perfect.
All previous visits were a 10 on a scale of 1-10; this trip would be a 8.0.
We love the location and will continue to visit every year we go to Cabo.
We absolutely loved every aspect of our dining experience here. Service was exceptional, food was creative and delicious and the view was the most beautiful dining experience we have ever had. To top it off there were fireworks. Highly recommend this restaurant.
The view is truly one of a kind and is beautidul. We were there on the night of a full moon and the candle lit tables felt like we were dining at a castle. Unfortunately though, the service was no bueno. After our original order, our server never came back except with the check. We had asked for the drink menu but we couldn't seem to order a second cocktail let alone water. What was starting as an incredible evening was deflated fast as our drinks went dry and we weren't able to get water or anything else. The food was good but not great. I prefer the culinary experience at the sister restaurant Comal at chileno bay. We were extremely disappointed in the service which can ruin any experience.
One of the most beautiful restaurants I have been in years. Jesus our weitress was amazing and he gave us a fantastic service.

We ate there two times during our recent stay at Esparanza. The food was very good, the service very friendly but a bit confused at times, and when it got busy just a bit lacking in personal attention, .......but what else is new?. Price wise it was fine to us, but we travel a lot and always stay in high-end hotels/resorts, so a few hundred dollar evening meal (with wine) is normal for the two of us. The sea side location was truly deserving of a 5-Star rating, it was spectacular. We would for sure go back and we would recomend to others to give it a try.
The seaside setting is almost distracting because it is so beautiful. We loved the sound of the waves and artistry of the sun light, each striking the stones in their own way. The menu was interesting, not filled with generic dishes, some featured local catches, appropriate serving sizes and creative drink selections. The service was attentive and timely. We very much enjoyed our meal experience.
