Cocina del Barrio is a vibrant, casual restaurant specializing in chef driven Latin cuisine that always utilizes fresh, local, and sustainable ingredients. Located in the heart of Edina's bustling 50th & France corridor, Cocina del Barrio is known for made-to-order guacamole, fresh salads, tortas, tacos, enchiladas, and tamales, all made from scratch.
The extensive beverage menu displays over 100 varieties of tequila, unique cocktails, local craft beer and an extensive wine list. Happy Hour is served Monday-Friday 3-6pm and lunch and dinner are served 7 days a week. During the spring and summer, join us on our patio to relax and people-watch while sipping “The Trinity,” our hand-crafted signature margarita!

As usual, this place is busy and fun. The food remains very good and the bar is good too. I enjoy the small plates and mix and matching with the tacos. It was very busy when we went this last time and is why the service was not as good as usual. I am sure to come back soon.

This place is nothing like the Barrio on the Nicollet Mall. The food is overly salted, not plated in an attractive manner, a real disappointment.

The offset room at the back that was great for our group. We were somewhat separated from the main seating area, but still felt like we were in the restaurant. The service was excellent and the chips were had for appetizers were delicious. Most of us ordered two small plates for dinner so we were able to try more than one thing and the prices were reasonable. Also there were many variations for margaritas.

Food was good and fresh. Spoonful of guacamole wasn’t near enough to share among four people. Service was ok, although food did come out hot.

Very quiet for a Sunday lunch. Service was spotty as server didn’t even ask what we wanted to drink. Tapas style service was new for us and doesn’t work well with kids to get meals all at different times. Fish taco and chicken enchilada were very tasty. Would probably return on an evening to appreciate ambiance better.

Simply the very best Margaritas available in the Twin Cities and a great atmosphere for drinking them! The food is a bit expensive for the small portions, but well made.

We had a reservation at 6:15pm on Tuesday, 12/26 for three. Our server had the personality of a stale pancake and obviously did not want to be there. My drink was slammed down on the table. It was obvious that his shift ended because we had to finally ask another server to help us after three hours. I really wasn't impressed with anything about this place.

I asked to be put in a quiet area via Open Table and I could tell the host didn't read my note. The restaurant was wide open and she could have picked a nicer table since we booked ahead.

This was the second time I've been here... the concept and food choices are great; the service this time around not so much so. We placed a drink order almost immediately upon seating and I ordered a beer, which was brought to me 15 minutes later in the bottle. I asked for a glass and waited another 10 - 15 minutes, after which the waiter brought me a dripping wet, soapy glass from the kitchen. I ignored that and took a clean glass from the adjoining table. Another 10 - 15 minutes to get our food order taken... chips ran out and we asked for more and were told that would cost additional $. We said that was okay. Yes... 10 - 15 minutes later more chips arrived, seconds before the food arrived. At one point someone who looked like the owner walked around and spoke to staff sitting or standing alone; he looked at us and neither smiled nor said anything. Made me feel there was a major labor or management issue happening that all guests that night had just happened upon...

Really good food and service. Good value. Warm atmosphere with a low buzz but not too loud. Not your typical Tex-Mex or Mexican fair. If you like Mexican and want some very good food that’s fresh and different, stop by. We’ll be back for sure.

Kind of a mess and seemed to have trouble cleaning up empty plates and bringing more drinks. It's always a bad sign when you start stacking and tidying your table because you're tired of staring at dishes
