This is my daughter’s all time FAVORITE place. She was fortunate to spend her birthday here with a small group of friends recently. They all loved their food, drinks, and the location was perfect! Now they all want to go back again! Thank you for continuing to offer great food and service we can count on!
Delicious food and drinks, helpful staff, good prices and easy to make a reservation.
Chose Barrio through a rating of quiet conversational restaurants; not so. Appreciated the ability to make a reservation, however was seated in the bar area? Outside of the unanticipated noise food was wonderful, drinks creative, and service acceptable. When we declined the dessert menu server disappeared leaving water glasses empty.
good happy hoir
We went for margaritas & a late night nosh. Barrio did not disappoint!
The staff was very accommodating and flexible! Thank you for a great night, we'll be back!
My birthday dinner.
As first time visitors to cocina del barrio, we were favorably impressed. Food was a mix of central all were delicious. Now hooked on the yucca fries. Very complete bar with non-alcoholic cocktails as well as a dozen different margarita choices. Definitely going back.
Good food and ambiance, but the drawbacks are that each taco is served individually (randomly people without food, or there are way too many plates on a table) and the noise was nearly unbearable.
It is a nice place for Mexican style tapas. Not great for a meal. Overall it is a bit noisy. This is more of a nosh and go.
Valentines dinner with my wife. Good food, good service
loved it! Great food! Great service! Great ambiance, not too dark
Exciting, colorful, full flavor, south-of-the-boarder food.
A wonderful addition to this city of Scandinavians and Germans.
It was very good, but the guacamole was more bland than I ever remember it being. We had a good time and good food and service.
Went there for a girls happy hour. It was excellent!
The bar and the dining sections are very close together so as the bar guests get more relaxed the noise level escalates and was unbearable for dinner guests. We even asked to be reseated. We don't expect to return. Food was good but atmosphere was not.
This was our second visit to Barrio, Edina and both times we felt the wait staff was rushing us and not very friendly. We were there for a monthly girls night and although we stayed awhile, we did order drinks, apps and dinner. The space wasn’t full, nor were there customers waiting so we were not sure what the rush would be. Also, we said thank you several times to our server and couldn’t get a smile or a you’re welcome back from her. Disappointing, but the margaritas and guacamole app was very good!
We always love going to Barrio! Great margaritas and food!
Excellent service, delicious food, vibrant atmosphere
Great spot! Much brighter and lovely than the other Barrio’s around the twin cities.
Food is good.
Amazing value, everything was delicious. We brought a large group to celebrate a college graduation. Staff was accommodating, attentive and prepared in advance. The plates were so tasty, we just kept ordering more!
Food was strange, not very good Guacamole was good and fresh.
THE TUNA WAS EXCELLENT! STREET TACO SIZE PORTIONS WERE GREAT SO WE COULD ALL MIX UP AND TRY MULTIPLE ITEMS.
WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK AGAIN!
As always, the food was phenomenal. We got the corn chowder, anticuchos, and potato sopes. We missed the original decor, though. We liked how intimate it felt for dates when it was darker. The new, lighter decor isn't bad; we just preferred the original vibe.
Consistently fantastic food!
This is a party place! People were having fun, enjoying great cocktails, and small plates of fantastic Mexican flavors. ALL GOOD!
The food is always fabulous but I do think that the ala carte menu style can get quite expensive.
Very unique menu with some outstanding food items depending on what you pick off the menu. The tequila flights were amazing as well as the ability to order tapas rather than full meals. The ambiance was great, and I would enjoy coming here again!
I was using a special margarita coupon which made it worth the time and money. I was seated in the bar area and was glad I was alone because it was too loud to carry on a conversation. I went at Happy Hour, so the taco (2 small tortillas and enough filling for both of them) was reasonably priced ($3.50 vs regular $5 price), but nothing to rave about. My server did a good job. My drink, if I had to pay for it, was $11.00.
The remodel is nice, but lighting in back is way too bright -- need a dimmer. A fruit fly wouldn't leave us alone, wouldn't comment except it same thing happened last time we were there. Love the guac, pork carnitas tacos and signature margarita and will be back for those!
Great food, good portion sizes not too big not too small.
Sarcastic and slow waiter. Very noisy. Have been here a few times to see if it would improve but I think this was the last time.
We enjoyed the food, Trinity Margarita was terrific.
Our waiter was very pleasant and food came out in timely manner even though it was very busy.
One thing occurred which I really wondered about. I had asked for a booth when I made my reservation. The hostess seated us at a table and I asked if we could be seated at one of the several booths which were not occupied. She told us they were for 4 or 6 even though 3 of them had 2 people in. Two people were also seated later in the remaining booths after she told us that.
Great food and wonderful staff
Had a great birthday dinner out on the patio- great food and service.
Loved our server Trey. He made some amazing recommendations and we had a great meal
Good place for a couples’ outing!
We sat on the patio, and while our server was wonderful and quite helpful, there were long periods of time where service was missing, almost like the servers had sections inside and had to each grab a table outside or something. The noise level inside was quite high, and at times made it really difficult to hear periodically. It is a beautiful restaurant on the inside with a few patio tables.
The food was wonderful. It is served tapas style, so be prepared for small plates and ordering multiple plates. It was our first time at Barrio, so we found it helpful to ask the server what was the best. We were not disappointed. While all of the items we ordered were wonderful, the ones that were our favorites were the Snapper Ceviche, Mahi Mahi tacos and beet salad. I also loved the sweet plantains, however they are not a dessert. We did not try any desserts this time around.
Again, the food was wonderful, the server was awesome, but it seemed like there was some issue with how the patio tables were being served, and it was a little loud for us. But we are (gasp!) older than most of the other diners we saw. We'd go back, the food was really quite good.
