Honestly, one of the best meals I’ve had in a LONG time. Claudia was the loveliest and great at her job. I want to make another trip to Puerto Rico just so i can go back. A must stop!
Everything about this place was amazing. Highly recommend!!!
Excellent environment. Tasty Food.
¡Espectacular! ¡Para volver!
The mofungo of celery root with beef cheeks was AMAZING...the octopus starter was chewy😬..service lovely...dining el fresco while not a pretty view was much quieter than inside.
Great food! The plantain carpaccio is delicious! The service was outstanding!
Great find in San Juan. Delicious food and lovely service. It was so nice to sit outside. Very creative menus and reasonable prices. So glad we went!
Amazing food. Party of 3, 2 adults and 1 10 year old. If there is one item on the menu you MUST try it is the Sweet Plantain Tuna Carpaccio (I think that was the name). It is AMAZING. I am a bit of a foodie and anytime we travel, I do online research and I always check EATER. This restaurant came up multiple times. The prices are very reasonable for the size of the dishes. Very cool atmosphere. Our table was right next to the kitchen, which i do not normally like, but in this instance it wasn't too loud or distracting. The featured drinks from the bar was fantastic. My son ordered the cheese burger. The only small feedback is that the fries with the burger were extremely soggy and soaked in grease. However, the burger was EXCELLENT.
Mada was a great server, very attentive with great suggestions for food and drinks. It was very lively and when a group of six was seated right next to us, noisy. But the food was innovative, delicious, and good portions without going overboard.
The food was delicious with a wonderful mixture of ingredients, the service was fanatastic.
Good food and ambience. Service was fast and desserts and appetizer were awesome. Good coffee as well
I loved the service. I ordered the beef tenderloin and it was really good. My boyfriend ordered the catch of the day which was horrible cooked. He couldn’t eat it but he didn’t tell the management. I bet they would’ve been able to fix it.
My favorite restaurant from my trip to Puerto Rico. Amazing craft cocktails and outstanding dinner. Can’t be beat!!
Great meal and a great staff. Really enjoyed everything. We had a VERY loud party behind us, but still enjoyed the evening.
My girlfriend and I loved it. Carlos the bartender gave us amazing cocktails, the food was one of the best full course meals I've had in a long while. Me and my girlfriend just chilled at the bar and cracked a few jokes with the staff that was very attentive and fun. Been talking about my experience to my co-workers who are foodies as well. Would love to come again and try the whole menu. Cheesecake and the mignon were to die for.
Service was great! Overall dining experience was excellent! If your picking spots to eat on your vacation, this should be a stop on your list! This is not a fast dining experience. It is smaller plates so people will order more items on the menu and it will take an evening out of dining. If your a foodie you will love it! Only negative was that our table was not ready for us when we arrived because of the before mentioned eating experience. Yet don’t worry they have a bar where you can sit and wait and have some lovely cocktails or get a glass of wine from their nice wine list! We will go back!!!
Wonderful service. Personable and professional
Food and service was amazing will definitely recommend Cocina Abierta to friends
Cocina Abierta is a must-do in Puerto Rico! We loved every dish we had!
Chose Cocina Abierta on our first night in San Juan. Great choice. Such an interesting and delightful menu, lovely presentation, and - above all - delicious. Highly recommended.
This is my favorite restaurant locally. But my issue lately is that you leave the restaurant smelling like food. It didn’t happen before, but my last 4 visits I, quite honestly, need to go home and shower. So I can’t make plans for afterwards if my choice to have dinner is Cocina Abierta.
Been coming to Puerto Rico for 40 years. This is by far the best overall dining experience ever.
Our compliments to the chef, the servers, and the owners. If you only dine out once, do it here.
It was my birthday and the food was quite frankly tasteless and not good. I was very sorry becasuse the place and ambiance was very good.
The food was unique and fresh. Everything was excellent. The staff is top notch. A great find.
We had the most amazing brunch here! The menu has quite a range, with options for everyone. I have very specific dietary restrictions, and was very well accommodated. Cannot wait to return!
The food was great. At first the service was slow but improved. Highly recommend it for brunch.
We had a group of 8 flying into Puerto Rico and wanted to get together for dinner the night before we sailed. So glad we read up about this restaurant and were able to secure a reservation on open table. Our accommodations were perfect. The restaurant is lovely, the staff was friendly and efficient, drinks were good. Each couple shared appetizers ... everyone chose something different and all were excellent. The meals were wonderful. One guest raved about the salmon, I had the tenderloin dish which was delicious. My husband loved the New York strip. Another had catch of the day and loved it. One had the burger and said it was great. It was chilly in the restaurant when we arrived and our waitress immediately adjusted the air conditioner so we were all comfortable the entire evening. I highly recommend Cocina Abierta!
The appetizer and entree offerings are very unique and delicious. Cannot believe the pricing! Ridiculously inexpensive. Will return soon.
My wife and I were flying out of San Juan after a long weekend in Rincon and I wanted to end our trip on a high note with our bellies full. After some research I came across Cocina Abierto and it looked like it was right up our alley and it did not fall short of my expectations. The sweet plantain carpaccio is a MUST. It is sweet, salty and savory all at once. I would order two of these next time. The calamari is another must. The calamari is fried to perfection and prepared with an Asian influence with scallions and a teriyaki glaze. The salmon wellington is a unique spin on salmon and being salmon lovers we had to try it. Again, this dish met our expectations. Lastly we had the prawn bolognese and it was killer. Rather than go for dessert we opted for one more entree and we were/and still are happy with our decision. The wine list / beverage program was also of note. My only complaint was that the ambiance is a bit cold / uninviting when you initially walk in. It looks cozier as you go farther back into the restaurant though! Would definitely recommend Cocina Abierto to anyone stopping through San Juan or even to a local.
The waitress was super friendly. Everything on the menu seemed really good, some dishes seemed to be more of the same that you'd fine in any other restaurant BUT they had some kind of twist that made it different. We had the duck, NY Steak and the mofongo - DELICIOUS!!
For dessert we had lavender Creme brulee and the goat cheesecake - ALSO DELICIOUS
We will be back!
A great find. Went with my family.
We loved it all
We had the most amazing dinner, and tried a few of the recommended dishes. Everything was perfection, from presentation to taste. I have dietary restrictions, and the staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, which is huge for me! We will definitely be frequenting this lovely spot!
Cocina abierta: un restaurante con comida innovadora y a buen precio. Con gran ambientacion. Mi esposa y yo vamos constantemente a este restaurante ya que su comida es excelente.
Great place food was great lots of choices bartenders were good wait staff was attentive good restaurant
Group dinner the day after Valentine’s Day. Very good special menu and the service was great. Employees very willing to acommodate our request of changing tables and changing ingredients for one of our crustaceous allergic friend. Great cocktails!
Very good service, great tasting food at an excellent price. Croquetas de jamón serrano are out of this world. The lomo de res amazing.
Wrong dishes served 2 or 3 times.
Pre Fix menu plates were cold on arrival
No details on wine pairings
Whole meal and attention from wait staff was lack luster at best.
This is the third time I have dined there in the time I have been in Puerto Rico working. My wife was visiting and this was definitly the place I wanted to take her for Valentines Day. I was not disappointed.
IT WAS NOT MY FIRST TIME AT THE RESTAURANT, AND DEFINITELY I WILL BE BACK; BUT FOR THE FIRST TIME A RECEIVED AN ITEM OVERCOOKED AND VISIBLY BURNED. IT SURPRISED ME THAT NOT THE CHEF NOR THE WAITRESS NOTICE IT AND IT WAS SERVED.
