We were quickly seated after we made a reservation. We received prompt service and the food was delicious!
Good vibes, nice decorations, chips and salsa were good. Menu is pricey for the quantity and value of what they give you. I feel like I ordered the wrong thing. The waitress suggested the carnitias tacos saying they were the best on the menu and were super flavorful so I chose that. When they came to the table they were extremely small and tasteless. I was very disappointed
I may be disappointed Because I had my sights set on something different. Nice location off Park Avenue but the food is just your average Mexican food. The brisket quesadilla was blah. Not much brisket. Nothing to remember. The drinks were good and the servers were friendly and fairly attentive given it was a Friday evening.
Great Food, Great service - right off Park Ave! We enjoyed our evening.
There was no reason for a reservation bc they seated by a list of first arrivals. Restaurant was extremely loud! Drinks were not refilled.
The food was really good, but the place very noisy.
I asked one of the bartenders for some ideas on some healthy dishes, since Tex-Mex is not notoriously low cal and he went through several dishes with me.. with patience!
So great! The salsa is too spicy for me.. but everyone at my table gobbled it up.. I had red snapper vera cruz and our party of five had quesadillas and fajitas.. The only complaint I heard about the fajitas is there is no cheese to sprinkle on the fajitas... They did have guacamole, sour cream and salsa to go with them.. Margaritas are fabulous..
It was to celebrate my Nieces birthday, drinks took over 15 mins and never arrived so we cancelled it, service was extremely poor!!
The restaurant was not busy and service took forever. The food was overcooked as well. Definitely better Mexican restaurant for better prices and quality of food.
Went here for my husbands 40th bday, I wont go back. First, I wrote in my Open Table reservation, told both hostesses and told our waiter it was a 40th birthday dinner and they did absolutely nothing for us for the special occasion. Second, the service was rude at every level. The hostesses were both unwelcoming and snotty, our waiter messed up our drink orders and the was slow to fix the mistake. After our dinner, we wanted to have a night cap in the bar area, so we closed out our check and due to the layout you have to walk through the restaurant, past the hostess area into the bar...and again one of the hostesses was outright rude to us like no guest had ever done that before. Once we were in the bar, no one came to take a drink order for 10 minutes, once a waitress came out, she was rude! It was the strangest thing. After all that, we were so ready to get out of there. Unfortunately we had already spent over $400 dollars on chips and guac, average small portion tacos and a couple margaritas, such a rip-off!!
Later in the evening I mentioned to a few other local people where we had had dinner, and funny enough they BOTH summed up their dinning experiences there exactly as ours had been - rude, mediocre service and way overpriced simple food, they never eat there!
Very good Mexican menu, fresh ingredients, quick and responsive service.
Nice restaurant
Great time. Only criticism is that the lighting required many of us throughout the restaurant to have to use cell phone flashlight to read the menu.
I was really hopeful that this would be a good find. With the proliferation of Mexican restaurants at our disposal, I assumed that this location and price point would be superior. Unfortunately, we found the salsa to be completely uninteresting and when we asked for something else, we were offered one that we had to pay extra for. No big deal except that is was also lacking. Plain Habanero sauce, not interesting. We ordered tacos for both of us that didn't match up to the variety or quality offered at many of the other food truck turned brick and mortar places within a 10 minute drive. Nice room with comfortable seating was really the only benefit to going here, but not worth the higher prices without better food.
Unfortunately, most of the city lost power and we had to scramble to find cash to pay as there was no way to pay by credit card that was secure.
This was the first visit for my wife and I to Cocina 214 for dinner. The decor is "upscale" for an Mexican restaurant. We had an attentive server who was helpful describing the food and assisted my wife in selecting an margarita . I was disappointed in the chips and salsa- they should go get some from Chili's! However, the tortilla soup was outstanding. For the main course my wife selected the marinated steak and I had the chicken burrito. Both dishes were good, but not very good. For a lot less money better Mexican food can be had from Tequila Flats. I don't understand how Cocina 214 can consistently win Central Florida restaurant awards unless a Winter Park location and upscale decor count more than food taste.
Fantastic Mexican food, fresh flavors, creative dishes. Go for brunch too, delicious.
Good food... Nice environment. Excellent service...
Margaritas were very good as were the appetizers. All of the taco entrees were disappointing and over priced. Service was great and seating was comfortable. Evening began well (6:45) but by 7:15 it was quite noisy and continued to escalate making it impossible to have conversation.
Inside seating was so loud we asked to be moved outside. The food and service was ok.
Great atmosphere and very friendly service. Our waitor had great recommendations. We liked the margaritas and Mexican corn the most.
Thank you SO much! It was great! You made my husbands birthday such a treat! Thank you Tony;)
My wife and I love this restaurant for the great food and tasty margaritas. We don't mind the 45 minute drive from our home because we know we're going to enjoy ourselves. After dinner it's nice to stroll down Park Avenue to visit the shops and to people watch.
Great food and ambience.
Awesome food. Great drinks. Especially the mojito!
Perfect place for a date night. Lots of energy and seemed friendly to all ages. Food was tasty and drinks were yummy. Our service was very friendly and offered suggestions that we enjoyed. Fun night and good atmosphere.
I've been here before . Atmosphere is nice and tables are not too close together so your not on top of Simone else .
We went on a Monday evening and really few customer .
Food was good and portions fine just could have been more seasoned , a little bland . Drinks were good but pricy . Only compliant would be flan was not prepared correctly and was not dense or very favorable. I've had better at less fancy places . I would return when busy .
Maybe on slow night RestUrant should offer lower prices to get more customers . Just an idea .
This is my all time favorite restaurant in Orlando! Get the Brisket Quesadilla and you will not regret it! Brisket anything there is AMAZING!
The food we ordered was so delicious! To start, the chips brought out were warm. We ordered the Mexican street corn and queso dip to start. Both were very tasty. I ordered the chicken tamales and they were ok. However, my husband ordered the enchilada combo and man that was really good. Will definitely be coming back!
Ordered ceviche, which was delicious and a good quantity. I added a side salad, which was a big disappointment! This salad costs $6.00 for a small plate of romaine lettuce roughly chopped (difficult presentation to maneuver), three small cherry tomatoes halved, with three small pieces of tortilla chip and dressing - rip-off!
Cocina 214 is always a top choice. Doesn't matter if it is during the daytime for lunch or late at night for a night cap. My wife and I celebrated our birthday's with a group of friends, the staff was very helpful in letting our group set up a section of the restaurant and allowed us to have a semi surprise party. Overall we enjoyed the experience and loved the food.
Good food and good conversation
The portions are very small for Mexican food. Also, the service was not very good. The waiter never came back and asked us for another drink. He was actually quite rude. I have been there a few times but I will not return.
We had heard that this was the best Mexican restaurant around, and definitely agree! From the salsa was delicious almost starts off sweet and then the heat gets you at the right moment. We had fried avocado wedges for an appetizer. My husband is not a fan of avocados but thought the crunchiness from being fried helped to balance out the softness of the avocado. We had the chicken tamales and taco trio both of which were fantastic, true authentic flavors! Definitely will be our go to place when we are craving Mexican food!
I've been there a few times before in the past and I really like it. I took someone out for a date there and it was a great time. The food was good the wait staff was nice enough but I've had better service there before, but it was a busier night so I'm not too upset about that. It's a loud venue though it's got a great atmosphere but because it's a very open layout you kind of hear everything. All in all though it's one of my favorite places in the area and being right across from the park is a great perk to.
We always go to Cocina 214 and love it. But last night the hostess was in a bad mood when she took us to our table. She didn't care to get us silverware and plates like they usually do. They were understaffed and we waited longer than usual. We will continue to go because we love the food, waiters and bartenders!
Had a reservation but waited 25 minutes beyond our open table set time. Manager seemed frazzled and unorganized especially since they were so busy. Lots of people waiting for their tables just like us. Not sure if we will return again.
Waited 30 minutes for our table when we had a reservation. Received our appetizer and dinner at the same time before we even got our drinks. After waiting for our reserved table, it felt like they were trying to rush us out by giving us all of our food within 10 minutes of sitting down, making it very hard to relax and enjoy our meal.
We read very favorable reviews of this Mexican restaurant. The food was served attractively but very under spiced. Almost boring. The beer selection was weak. The service was good and the atmosphere very nice.
Nice spot in Winter park for a Mexican dish.
