Fireplace room was very welcoming. Good waiter and superb food.
My husband and I fell in love with Cochon a month ago. We took our son to dinner last night and we had an amazing dinner. I HIGHLY recommend this restaurant.
What an awesome place. Our go to whenever in Williamsburg!
Our server was excellent and knowledgeable. The drinks great, my tenderloin was excellent and I'm picky.
One of the best dining experiences we have ever had and hands down the best in Williamsburg! From the moment we arrived we were impressed in every area. Our server, David is excellent and gave recommendations that were spot on. I had a fried oyster salad and a ribeye. The oysters were the best I have ever had...the breading was light and crispy and the oysters were full of flavor. Thee ribeye....perfect...better than many I have had for almost twice the price. I did not even think about ruining it with steak sauce as this one was so tender and filled with juicy flavor and goodness. I applaud Neil Griggs and his entire staff...they are all second to none! We will be bac again, and again!!!
The food was good, over priced for what you get. $15.00 for a mixed drink is over priced for what you get. $10.00 for desserts that are not worth the price. The meal was good but it is not 50.00 per meal price. Two people with an appetizer, 2 drinks, 2 dinners and 2 desserts was $262 without tip! This place is over rated for the money and we eat at high end restaurants weekly all over the US. Opus9 is totally worth this type of money, but whom ever owns this restaurant thinks he provides more value than what he has to offer. I would skip this restaurant unless you want to over pay for a decent meal, not worth what they charge and their craft cocktails they boast about are nothing special and you can get better at any bar for half the price! Totally not worth the money! Skip the over priced menu and visit the chefs kitchen or OPUS 9, Fat Canary are so much better for half the cost! We will not be back until they get straight on ripping off the public on their prices. We are at Opus9 last week had wine, 2 steaks, dessert and an appetizer and spent with tip $200. You do the math!
The lamb chops were cooked perfectly and delicious. Our server, Jody, provided excellent service and contributed to an enjoyable evening. Highly recommended!
Food was exceptional on our third new years eve here. So good and consistent its become our NYE tradition. Jody was incredible in all her service as was all the staff. A very special place for a special night. See you next NYE!
This may have been the best dinner we have ever had in Williamsburg! Everything was perfect! The four course new year's eve menu had many wonderful choices. Six people who love fine dining all were delighted with each of their meals. Our server was the perfect balance between attentive and unobtrusive and was helpful in wine selections.
We recommend Cochon to anyone who loves fine dining in a comfortable setting.
Amazing restaurant, service was as good as the food!
Excellent food and service. Party in bar was very loud but our room was good.
Our server Christine was amazing! The hostess was not an asset to the establishment, but Christine went above and beyond to make it an wonderful experience. The hostess tried seating us next to the bathrooms and kitchen, even though there were many other empty tables available. She said they were reserved. We also had a reservation so that was not a valid argument. Christine moved us to another table and the hostess said something to her about it. Christine ignored her and took amazing care of us. The ambiance was great and the food was good.
We had two waitstaff who were tag-teaming. It didn't really work as we waited too long for some things.
Also, while the bread was good, it wasn't warm. That would be a nice improvement.
We celebrated being together at Christmas with our family and Cochon was as wonderful as ever. From the warm welcome to the excellent service to the delicious meal, it was perfect.
As always, the food, atmosphere and service were excellent. We enjoy a visit here every time we are in Williamsburg. This is a must-stop for anyone who has not been.
It was Christmas Eve so they were probably short-staffed, but service was VERY slow. By the time we got our entrees we had waited so long we couldn’t finish our meal much less dessert. Our waiter was serviceable, but for a restaurant of this caliber, not up to par. Food was very good - great lobster bisque and steak. The meat/smoke smell of the restaurant got overpowering after a while.
Christmas Eve pre-fixe dinner was excellent! Christina our server was attentive with a delightful personality. The restaurant ambiance was warmly decorated and comfy thanks in part to the large fireplace. We will return next time in the area to try the regular menu offerings.
This is one of our frequented restaurants in Williamsburg. The original staff is fabulous and since being able to hire a lot of former Waypoint staff they have a complete and great team!
Our waitress was a professional and at the same time very engaging and kind. We love "quiche' the hostess, Dave the Bartender is fabulous and I could go on.
The atmosphere is warm and inviting and the Christmas Eve prix fix, though way to much food, was a great selection, nicely presented and served and lovely!
We really couldn't have had a nicer evening!
Could only give service 3 stars because almost all employees were not wearing masks- the person who sat us, server, and kitchen staff. Experience would have been much better if these Covid precautions were implemented.
We were there for our Anniversary. The food (Fire Cracker Shrimp and Scallops) and our waiter(s) were fantastic! FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY.
I just wish it could have been warmer where my husband and I were sitting. I was freezing the entire time we were there. I had to wear my husbands coat while we waited forever out dinner.
Great atmosphere. New York prices. The $55.00 ribeye steaks were tough.
The service was excellent. The room was beautiful and best of all the food was absolutely amazing! We are visiting Colonial Williamsburg for the Christmas holiday and tried the restaurant for the first time. It is now on our list of must have reservations every time we visit the area!
Our server, Eric was attentive and engaging. The food was perfectly prepared. Tons of flavor in each bite. Recommend for a group party or for a romantic dinner.
Wonderful ambiance, winter hearth, fire blazing. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. At this price level though probably best for special occasions. We are foodies and have high expectations. We were impressed especially to find this quality in a more provincial location. Highly recommend!
One of the best restaurants in Williamsburg- and beyond. Food is superb, as are accompanying selections. The noise level is high, and that is the only negative issue. We had 6 in our party; 4 people may be more ideal in-terms of noise and communication. That said everyone should experience the food- always prime quality and perfectly cooked ( some over a wood grill); we’ve been there several times and it is consistently excellent. Service was spot on. Can you tell we love this place!
Amazing food, great service!
We eat here every year when in Williamsburg. Food is outstanding with excellent service. Highly recommended!
Where do I start. They sat us right by the kitchen. There were other tables we asked for. They said they were already reserved. We mad our reservation over a month ago. Had a set menu which was very pricy I got a steak the size of a lemon maybe. $70 a $70 steak should have been the size of the plate. Had some bad vegetables with it and a block of something that I think was potato. The check was $228.00. Definitely not worth it. I will not be back. Very disappointed.
Lovely atmosphere. Great food. Excellent service!
Excellent setting, service, food...
One of my favorite places to eat.
Noise level increases as the hour goes..
Able to talk to companion despite the "noise"
Lovely service personnel
Definitely a favorite
Great food. Lovely service
My wife and I visited Cochon for a Holiday evening out. As always, the service was attentive, pleasant and professional. I had the smoke grilled pork chop, the meat was heated to perfection, flavor was ummm. My wife had the duck and it was equally excellent. Capped the evening off with Good Shot Judy, hard to get much better.
Our first visit to Cochon after living in Williamsburg for a few years. Very upset that we didn't visit sooner! If you want a quality, refined, and filling meal - make a reservation ASAP!
Delicious well prepared food and outstanding service! A wonderful locally owned restaurant!!
Even with the current COVID situation, I never felt unsafe while enjoying a marvelous diner at Cochon On 2nd. The food and service were both excellent. The duck breast was as good as ever and the ambiance superb. I always try to be seated where I can watch the chefs.
Excellent food, terrific atmosphere, very helpful staff, very helpful staff who cared about their customers. Highly recommend this French cuisine restaurant. Very good value. It made our trip very enjoyable.
Everything was excellent from an outstanding martini through dessert. The service was friendly, professional, and attentive without being intrusive. It was my wife’s birthday dinner and we were both pleased with our first visit. We plan to return.
Couldn’t be finer in any way shape or form!!! 5 stars!!
A local gem, Cochon on 2nd has always delivered. Jody K, our server took great care of us. The two Bulleit Rye Manhattans were spot on - congrats to the bartender. Our entrees were delicious - and servings substantial. A definite "must do" if you are in Williamsburg.
Delicious meal and accommodated GF /DF allergies. Just wish they had milk alternatives for coffee and DF/GF deserts. Will eat there again and tell friends
