What a perfect evening we spent at Cochon on 2nd! Everything was marvelous! Highly recommended.
Food was excellent, service was very well done. Quite lively, i.e., noisy. I would strongly recommend you try.
Vwry good food
This was our second visit and the food was excellent. The service was almost too attentive, but better than not seeing the waitstaff for long periods
Beautiful venue, good service, food was unremarkable
We celebrated my husbands birthday. Melissa and Seth made it a fantastic experience for us. The food was phenomenal I would say this is the best restaurant in the area
One of our favorites for dinner anytime. Great food, friendly and efficient staff. Always feels welcome.
We dine regularly at Cochon before live theater performances. Wait staff is always careful of the time;moreover, the food is superb. We have never been disappointed.
Cochon is always a special treat! We dine at Cochon fairly regularly and have always had a 5 star experience. For exceptional and fresh food quality wonderfully prepared and presented; for ambience and decor unequalled in the Williamsburg area; and for outstanding, warm and attentive service, Cochon truly has no equal. Owner/Chef Neil sticks to a small list of 5-6 entrees in order to give the guest dinner that is prepared one dish at a time with close care to each one--no pre cooking here. The open kitchen lets you see it all. In addition to the main courses there is a fantastic selection of appetizers (fire shrimp or crab cakes anyone?) and a really unique choice of salads ( you have to try the warm goat cheese one). We love the interior decor and lighting which sets the mood and creates a very attactive atmosphere that you can't help but relax in and just enjoy.
Cochon exudes a well run restaurant. "Maitre d"/dining manager Melissa is on top of everything. You'll see her moving about--just making sure all is running smoothly. And she and Chef Neil know how to hire staff that will carry out their approach to first rate service. Another plus: Cochon has a great bar area with a few high top tables (table cloths, flowers and candles included!). On those nights where you might not feel like a full dinner, Cochon has you covered. Head to the bar, order from a nice wine list; house made cocktails or a beer and order a few starters and salads off the menu. Magnifique!
As you can tell, we highly recommend Cochon for your next night out. You'll be glad you did.
Great place with terrific food. We highly recommend for lunch and dinner.
The restaurant was a little busy when we arrived. But the wait staff was very friendly and courteous. We were set by the kitchen so we got to all of the different dishes being prepared. The food was excellent. We will definitely be coming back
My wife and I went with our favorite couple in Williamsburg. The entire evening was memorable and fantastic. The food is amazing. I had the firecracker shrimp appetizer, the aged New York Strip entree, and the “banana pudding” for dessert. My wife had the soup of the day and the soft shell crabs. The libations were excellent, and the server was outstanding. We would highly recommend this restaurant!
Great! Can't wait to come back! Good food, good service, good atmosphere. (Somewhat) hidden gem.
Delicious food and great service and ambience!
Always wonderful! An absolute favorite spot for delicious food, wonderful atmosphere, and great service!
Birthday celebration. One of the wait staff was a bit less than thrilled with being at work it seemed. We asked her to take a photo of us and she was acted a bit out out. She was a bit reluctant; but did take the photo and said most of the shots were blurry. I thought then why didn’t you take an iPhone photo that was not blurry. Just seems strange.
The food was terrific and our waiter she was great.
My go to restaurant!! The foo is great and the staff especially David and Melissa are fantastic.
Both service and food were excellent. Staff was great. We ended up sitting and talking for a while after we were finished with the meal. We ended up being the last ones out, but we never felt like we were being rushed to leave. The menu was creative and the food prepared extremely well. A definite go to place.
the food is very good; however, this time it was about 1 hour and 15 min. to get the main course. I like a nice pace, but this was too slow for us. plenty of empty tables near us , so don't know what the issue was. got our salad in 5 minutes; then just waited
Appetizer of tuna tartare with guacamole on fried wontons was excellent. Wine selection very good. Rockfish and prawns were over cooked and scalloped potatoes were undercooked. We will go back again, but will likely to try beef instead.
I like it better for lunch than for dinner. I had salmon with the Cochon salad and it was delicious. The small room is very nice and was flooded with light. Water refills had to be requested, and coffee was slow to arrive. The server divided the check without being asked. The salad and a cup of regular coffee cost $26 plus tip.
From the martini to the meal to the dessert, it was perfect. Truly one of our favorite dining experiences.
Dining at Cochon on 2nd was a superb experience from beginning to end. We were greeted with a warm welcome from everyone. The service was perfection and the food was delicious! I am now looking for a reason to return to Williamsburg so I can eat here again!
Outstanding upscale, yet comfortable decor. Jill served us, and she was extremely accommodating! My wife had the special crab cake salad; she loved it, but does suggest either crumbling the blue cheese a little finer or using a little less. I had the salmon Caesar salad; salmon was cooked perfectly! After our meal, Jill showed us around the restaurant, including Moody's Room for private dining. We had an outstanding experience! When we come back to Williamsburg, we will eat here again!
I go there often. Love there Moody’s Ribs too. The food and wine selection is absolutely unbeatable
Always a wonderful experience. The food, service & ambiance are top notch. So glad we found this special gem!
The food was amazing. The service was great and friendly. Looking forward to going back.
Lovely, European-feel restaurant, open kitchen, wood fire. Wonderful conversation-level ambiance. Delicious food and totally delightful server, Jessica.
Cochon is a phenomenal restaurant with exceptional service and food in a upscale atmosphere.
Melissa is wonderful. She acknowledged our special occasion and made us feel special.
The server was friendly and attentive. I think he may have been still learning menu based on some of his descriptions and recommendations.
The food is delicious, especially the meat cooked over the wood fired grill. The flavor of the Berkshire pork shines through in the chop. It doesn’t appear to be brined before grilling, but I ordered it medium and it was juicy.
The steak temps are cooked on the rarer side, and the servers helpfully assisted the guests in adjusting their order.
Thank you for a memorable meal!
My guest and I ordered the "special" of the day. It was a New York strip steak ($48). My guest's steak was perfect. My steak was perfectly cooked, but every single bite had so much gristle that I gave up trying to chew it. Extremely disappointing, and I will never go back.
Our favorite restaurant in Williamsburg. Had dinner recently in Moody's Room and loved sitting by the fireplace, the quiet and lovely ambience (the tables are spaced generously apart). Our food was excellent and our servers (including the trainee) were top-notch and made our evening very enjoyable. Chef Neil and hostess Melissa have created a very special dining experience.
Went upon reccomendations read online. Very disappointed. Steak was over cooked. Pototoes undercooked. Asparagus tasted like gasoline. We are foodies and this did not impress. My meal was taken off and hubs got free dessert. We still paid full price for my husbands meal and did have a few drinks. We will not go back. It was a date night for us without kids and honestly the meal ruined it for us. Still paid over 100. Service was excellent!!!
Wonderful restaurant with delicious food, (we had a fried oyster feast!), terrific service and ambiance.
Warm, cozy restaurant with great food. Our meals were outstanding. Loved to french flair . Jessie, our waiter provided a level of service that matched the food. Great experience. Definitely would come back and recommend Cochon.
Our Host, Melissa and our Server, Seth, were both amazing! The food was...ok...I did not like the burnt tinge on my main course...I asked for “WELL DONE” not charcoal-grilled. Complete turnoff. The sauce made it bearable, but overall..was not impressed.
The hostess couldn’t seat us despite empty tables. Food took over an hour. It was good but not special. Potato’s were cold. Room was drafty and freezing. I would never go back.
Great birthday dinner for a very special friend. Excellent in all categories!!
Excellent choice for a special occasion. Pricey, but well worth it. Food, drinks and service are superb.
Our favorite of all in Williamsburg area. We celebrated a friends birthday and they went above and beyond to help make it special. We love they know our faces when we return. Food is outstanding and the attention to detail is superb.
