Cobblestones of Lowell Ratings and Reviews
Amanda was excellent. She suggestively sold me their special gingerbread martini which was just as good as she described it to be. The shrimp and corn chowder was excellent! My husband loved the pork cracklings but did say they needed bleu cheese to dip in. The marinade on the steak tips was delicious too. The parking lot is a challenge but it’s out of their control. Overall we were very pleased. We stumbled upon this gem through opentable just being in the area and looking for a nice dinner.
Five star for sure! The whole experience was wonderful! Food was excellent, restaurant is beautifully restored inside and out, nicely decorated for the upcoming holidays, and the our server, Jacqui was very personable and attentive but not overbearing. Salmon dinner was delicious! We only wish we lived/worked closer to enjoy more frequently. A definite GEM!
Went in for brunch with a few friends and everything was pleasant from the moment we walked in. Clean restaurant, best mimosas we’ve tried, and the food was amazing. They had a live singer that gave the whole experience something extra... what really made our experience 5 stars was our server, Heather. So friendly and helpful. Wasn’t afraid to make the experience more personable by engaging in conversation with us.
The food was very good and the service was as well. The one odd thing was the inarticulate and actually unfriendly hostess. She acted uninterested in us as customers, somewhat dismissive and definitely unfriendly. We were dressed quite appropriately (out for dinner and a play) and I cannot think of any reason that anything we said or did would explain how we were treated. Maybe someone died in the hostess’s family moments before we arrived or her boyfriend dumped her or she had just learned that she had cancer or she did not get the part in the play she auditioned for, but how we were greeted was markedly different from all of our last 50 times out for dinner.
We come to Cobblestones during Hockey season as we have River Hawk season tix. We were disappointed with the food quality this visit. Calamari was over cooked fried beyond crispy. All the calamari was in one over fried stuck together clump. Two of us had burgers that were over cooked, and my bun seemed stale.
This restaurant has so much potential! It is in a nursing absolutely beautiful building, and the menu looks good on paper. The clam chowder was delicious, and the steak tips were flavorful but tough. The burger was nothing extraordinary, but not bad. Service was very good, but overall, I was left wanting something more (particularly for the price!).
Enjoyed the meal and experience. Atmosphere and wait staff were wonderful. Building is beautiful! Our meal took a long time and we arrived before the dinner rush. Disappointed to find out $45 bottle of wine was priced on the shelf in local liquor store at $14.😔
This was fine and maybe they were just regaining their feet after some days closed for renovations. We were advised that they had not yet ramped up to the full menu.
Our meal was unremarkable. There was very little I can recommend except that I could secure an OpenTable reservation on the evening when there was a Boarding House Concert happening later.
The food was fine but I would not say good, and while the pulled pork in the sandwich was tender, there was little flavor and little more after adding more BBQ sauce.
Service was hit and miss and we received a drink in a glass which had not been fully cleaned (good for us it was a clear liquid instead of a dark beer or Coke!)
Next time I’m in Lowell, this won’t be my first (or second or 3rd) choice.
Also it was interesting to note a poster in the hall which suggested contacting the manager with any concerns before slamming the restaurant on social media.
We made reservations for 6pm so that we would have plenty of time to attend a concert at 7:30. We informed our server that we were going to the concert, and she assured us that we would have plenty of time. The food came right away, so we did not need to rush. We waited for the server to come back for 15 min - now it was 7;15 and it was a 8-10 min walk to the concert. Another server came & brought our check. We tried to give her our credit card so we could leave, and she informed us that she could not take our payment because she was not our server. We waited another 15 min for our server to retrieve our check, but then it took another 10 min to return it. We were 30 min late to the concert. Very frustrating - due to the fact that we informed our server in advance.
Great menu that will suit a variety of tastes. A little pricey but they are very willing to work with you to create the meal that you want. Seating is nicely spaced throughout an open floor plan with multiple rooms. Pleasant atmosphere although a bit noisy.
It was a nice dinner, and I appreciated the special Father's Day menu, but the service was too slow for a family with 2 kids. We thought about dessert, but it took so long for the waitress to get back to us that we just skipped it. Ultimately I had to take the kids outside, while my wife stayed behind to wait to pay, as it doesn't seem she was coming back soon. This was even though the restaurant was emptying out. I know staffing is hard to manage, and I would definitely go back, as it's a great restaurant, but this was a frustrating part of the experience, so – sorry, Cobblestone's – that's the part I'm going to remember.
