Cobalt Restaurant and Lounge - Vero Beach Hotel and Spa Ratings and Reviews
We have eaten at Cobalt many times before and is always a requested stop when our daughters visit from NYC and Boston. We love the food, ambience and the view.
This most recent visit was to celebrate a birthday, which was handled beautifully by both the hostess and our wonderful server. Kudos to both for their professionalism!
Dining room was cold and music was not conducive to a night of romance. Calamari over cooked and tough. The pork chop special was tough and dry. Portions scant and presentation unimpressive for the price. Server unattentive. Had to pour our own wine. Chef must be new. This is not the same place we have kept on our favorite list for special occasions. We won't be back.
Great atmosphere but average food and limited wine menu. Our server Nichole was very accommodating, answered all our questions and gave us great service. It’s was good to see a young adult that is able to smile and converse with her guests wheather young and old as I watched her do. Thanks Nichole
We came here with our daughter and 7 yr old grandchild for a New Year's Day celebration- the great moments - for the table a tuna tartare flatbread - delicious - entrees - my husband and I had the grilled mahi sandwich - served perfectly cooked and hot temperature with salad sides - Perfect - our daughter had the crispy shrimp wrap - she said was very tasty - and our gdaughter 's waffle was perfection - bad moments - SERVICE - we placed drink orders including 2 bloody marys (prepared by the bar which I noticed was slow) - after over 15 minutes wait I spoke with the hostess - ridiculous to have to do this - the PROBLEM was with the server - I was told she was serving people outside on patio and in diningroom - NO EXCUSES - this is a 4 star restaurant - we asked her for water, more iced tea took forever - final blow another cup of coffee - never got it - 3 desserts to share at table - fun and good - Management needs to get Service up and running -couple next to us within 3 minutes received coffee and mimosas - Food Great Service depending on your server - can be an Ulcer in the making Who needs that!
Cobalt has a beautiful view of the blue-green waters along Vero Beach. We came to Cobalt for Sunday brunch. I had the Mahi-Mahi sandwich with truffle fries. The Mahi was well seasoned and cooked perfectly. My wife had the Cobalt burger sans the blue cheese. Her sandwich was also prepared well and cooked to her preference. The truffle fries were delicious.
We will have to place Cobalt on our places to try for dinner. I recommend Cobalt for lunch/brunch.
We have been going to Cobalt for years during the holiday season. Normally, we have found the food and service (Sasha) to be excellent. This visit, however, it took quite a long time for drinks each time we ordered and the lamb was over cooked. Perhaps the server had too many tables but it affected the quality of the overall experience.
I booked a table on the terrace, but on arriving was told that reservations were not possible on the terrace. My friends were not happy, plus service was very slow, perhaps in retribution for our complaint. Although we have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here several times, we find the staff increasingly arrogant.
I’m surprised the chef has not been thrown out. Even being generous about hotel being in a good challenged community doesn’t excuse the travesty of the meal.
My god it was just a Cobb salad. But what a salad. Over cooked dry chicken poorest quality greens too acidic dressing.
Spare yourself and try some army rations instead
Great menu options and unique tasty dishes!! i took my mom there for her birthday and it was quite an experience. The only problem we had was the waitstaff not coming back for a really long time and having to ask for my check twice before I finally received it. I also want sure if she was ever going to being the cake out to Mom. She did and it was absolutely scrumptious.
We ordered hamburgers. We waited an hour and the place was basically empty. As you would expect with 5 people the orders were a little different (well done, medium rare etc.) and they all came out the same - partially overcooked (to the point of crispy edges). I will not be back and I will not recommend.
This our favorite restaurant in Vero hands down and still is. This is why we went their on our anniversary. BUT.... On the open table reservation, I specifically selected "anniversary" and specifically requested, because you asked, that we not be seated near small children. We were, and when reminded of our request, we were told by the hostess that table was preparing to leave. They didn't and half way through the dinner, the baby became very restless and noisy, and did not stop. We asked the manager for our check and explained our situation. She apologized and hurried our check so that we can pay and escape the noise. Not what I had in mind, not what I expect at that price point.
Very unfortunate experience on Tuesday night. When we questioned whether 1 of our salads was dressed, the argumentative response of our waiter was astonishing. It got worse when 2 of our 3 entrees was served cold and we regret that our waiters response to the salad issue intimidated us into not complaining. This dinner was for a 60th birthday celebration which was totally ruined. We have always enjoyed our meals at cobalt over the years - this experience tells us that we will not be back anytime soon.
Loved the style, ambience and food, which made for a great brunch. The service could have been more attentive and it took a while to get seated (looked like they were a bit short-staffed), but the overall experience was very positive and it's a truly great location with excellent sea views.
WOW!!! What an amazing experience! Sip happy were found Cobalt on Open Table!! Sat oceanside with the crashing waves and breeze really making it nice and the restaurant is extremely nice. Our server, Kyle, was awesome... Very accommodating for our two kids! The food was incredible. The snapper that Kyle recommended, my wife loved!! Cannot say enough good things about Cobalt! Can't wait to visit Vero Beach again and come here!! Thanks for the experience
The restaurant was overall acceptable. The menu was limited but I found something I liked. It was cook nicely though served not quite as warm as I would like. The major flaw was their wine list. It was mediocre and decidedly overpriced, like as if we were in Manhattan. The wine by the glass list had just one noteworthy choice. I suspect that both lists were entirely from one distributor/supplier and composed of what they wanted to move.
Prospective clients, especially those staying in the hotel and assuming they could get a table should reserve in advance because the next night it was closed to the general population because they had sold it out to a private function. Regards,
Grouper under seasoned on a bed of small white potatoes - I was very disappointed in my dinner. There was only hanger steak on menu, no ribeye or strip or filet. Our server was attentive, bringing my husband his birthday dessert to go; Very tasty chocolate cake.
Overall, I will not return.
