Cobalt Restaurant and Lounge - Vero Beach Hotel and Spa Ratings and Reviews
My party of 5 thank me for bringing them to Cobalt, they all like it. Service was great, food excellent and we were nicely surprised with the pizza compliment and equally surprised with the birthday dessert even thou we never mentioned we were celebrating a birthday. Server must have caught on.
This was an anniversary return to the Cobalt, it was truly a memorable return visit for us. We will be returning. As it turned out we also had dinner and breakfast at the Cobalt Restaurant. Each were wonderful experiences from the quality of the services and the outstanding food perspectives .
We have visited Cobalt 3-4 times in the last year with variable results. We recently had dinner which was no exception. We were sat outside on a beautiful evening. It could not have been nicer. What is curious, however, is that there is no guarantee of a table outside. What a mistake. This is probably one of the restaurants biggest assets and yet they allow people to walk up and take the outside tables rather than simply putting a reserved sign on it. Their explanations as to the inability to reserve a table outside defy logic.
Our food was ok but not great. The endive salad was fine but the beet salad was raw (which was very surprising). The entrees were also ok. nothing special. The entrees came while the starters were still being eaten.
Our waitress was very good. She should get a gold medal for handling so many tables with grace.
We will return again in the hope of getting a table outside and hitting the chef on a good night. Not ideal.
it is always a treat to sit outside at the Cobalt Room. The direct ocean front tables over looking the beach offer some of the best water views in town. Sunday brunch is quite popular so book your table early! This past visit left us somewhat disappointed with the overall service. The hostess and wait staff are friendly but the service was very slow. We waited a long time for any drinks and the food was also a long time coming. The brunch menu is not especially gluten free friendly although waitress had good working knowledge of the food preparation.
Love this place but this visit was less than perfect. We had requested a deck table but when we got there, we were informed the deck was closed for maintenance. The view is the best thing about this place. The food is very good too. But I would have gone elsewhere if I knew the patio was closed. Also, while our server was pleasant and informative, she was not readily available, couldn't find her to pay our check.
I have been here many times and all other experiences have been stellar. Great happy hour with live music.
We have been to the Cobalt numerous times on our trips to Vero. We were looking forward to going again last Saturday evening. The setting is fabulous and we chose to eat outside overlooking the ocean. That is when the trouble began. We sat for an hour before our drink order was taken. About 20 mins later, some one literally threw a basket of bread and butter on our table. When it was time to order, I tried to order the 3 burger sliders (which I have ordered other times). As I starting to state the 3 different kinds I would like, the waitress cut me off and said " they all have to be the same kind". I told her I had ordered 3 different kinds in the past and she said "no, I won;t even ask the cook". On that note, I ordered something else. The order took another hour. She never bothered to come back to see how everything was. Yes, we would have liked another drink. Yes, we would have liked more water. And ketchup would have been nice. Even though we have a place right next door, I doubt we will go back.
Cobalt was just wonderful. The staff could not have been more friendly and welcoming, from the hostess' to the bartender, Tom, everyone made you feel like you were returning to your favorite place. The restaurant itself is lovely and set up for comfort and ease. Richard, our waiter was very well informed about the menu. The kitchen had no problem with the two special changes requested of menu items and our meal was just wonderful. My only problem was that the lentils were so hard that they were in edible. Aldente is one thing but things happen and it did not cause a problem with the meal. My scallops were done at my request in a lemon butter that was perfection. Yum!! The chef also sent out to our table a small plate of the pasta with shrimp and scallops just because we booked on open table. Ok I was impressed. If I lived in the area I would be at Coblat all of the time. Thank you for a great meal.
We experienced average food and service at Cobalt. We were seated near a crying baby. Although the dining room is somewhat formal, we were surrounded by people in shorts and T-shirts. I wouldn't expect this in a restaurant with entrees in the $30 plus range
The service and food were excellent. We had a seat right next to the window so that we could enjoy the beautiful ocean views. There was a big group outside enjoying drinks and a bonfire. This is a high-end restaurant in the Vero Beach Hotel, but they were very accommodating to my toddler as well as other's babies in strollers. There was a wedding going on while we dined and that did not at all affect other diners' experience while they dined. Would definitely return to this restaurant.
Service only marginal, food perhaps a bit better than fair. While our group stayed well after we finished our meal, not one server came over to ask if we might like something else..............another drink, etc. It was clear they wanted us out to tend to a wedding event.
We enjoyed the romantic, scenery and eclectic foods. The waiter (Richard) was so into his job.hard to find nowadays...He was ,kind, respectful and fun to chat with, during our order taking .He also was knowledgeable of the menu and about making adjustments to our dinners to meet our request. We will certainly brag about the Cobalt to everyone about the fine dining and romantic experience. The Chef made Art of our plates and the Flavors were perfection. We have never been here before and do not know anyone that has. Our opinions are unbiased and honestly portrayed in this review. Thanks and we will see you again soon Cobalt!
The view of the ocean can't be beat. We come for brunch, now with the weather cool enough to sit outside. The restaurant was busy outside, but empty inside. Many servers were available, so not sure why our server was absent 98% of the time. My husband did not get any offer to refill his coffee, and the fruit that was part of my dish was absent and never arrived. I even asked another server to get our server, he never showed, until I finally left the table, went inside to find the hostess, and she brought me my fruit. Frustrating that I had to actually leave the table to go find someone. Our server did not apologize. And, the ricotta pancake was just a plain buttermilk, missing the ricotta. At Colbale, you expect better service & food.
I took my daughter here for a special dinner. We sat out on the veranda by the ocean and were entranced. The food was also fantastic. Both my daughter and I loved the beet salad, and the salmon. My lemon cake dessert was delicious. Finally, a dessert that wasn't too sweet and that had lots of fresh fruit.
We travelled from NSB, over 2 hour drive, to meet friends and were not disappointed for our first visit to Vero Beach. We wished we were able to stay longer than just for lunch which was exceptional. Our 3 hour lunch was unhurried, the waitress looked after us and paced the service just as we wanted it.
Service, ambiance and food were exceptional. My wife and daughter enjoyed the spa next door first then to cobalt for brunch - a great combination. Dined outside with great view of the beach and the ocean waves provided a perfectly relaxing atmosphere. The Florida shrimp Benedict was tasty as was the recommended ahi tuna flatbread. A great find in vero beach!
The food is exceptional. The attention to detail fabulous. We had a piping hot, crisp flatbread. It was shrimp, panko and garlic-superb! Next we shared the fried green tomato BLT-excellent-with homemade pimento cheese on it-not to be missed! Finished it off with an espresso crème brulee-need I say more?
We have been there several times and find the food wonderful. Very creative combinations of foods and spices. The warm balmy breeze right on the ocean is a treat. The service is consistently awful...if they would improve the wait staff it would be the best place to eat in Vero Beach! If the food wasn't excellent and the ambiance wonderful we would never go back.
My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary with Cobalt. They started our meal off with a complimenatary toast of champagne and shrimp amuse' in celebration, which was very thoughtful. As we consider ourselves "foodies", we commonly dont look at the menu and ask our server to select our meals for us. We are not picky eaters and really enjoy doing this to avoid ordering the same thing everytime we go out. This normally presents us with the chefs best dishes as well. We haven't been disapointed yet, and Tom our server was right on par. Tom started us with the beat salad and tuna as hors d'oeuvres; both fantastic. Scallops and braised short ribs entres were mouth watering. Service was wonderful and the view just made the night perfect.
The Cobalt Restaurant at the Vero Beach Resort and Spa is a wonderful place for good food, a great view, great service and a wonderful view. Dining out side, weather permitting is wonderful. Hard to beat dining next to the ocean waves rolling in. We have dined there many times and have always enjoyed it. The Ahi Tuna is a favorite and the lobster bisque is delicious.
We highly recommend this restaurant! Can't wait to return.
Food was a mixed bag. Apps were pretty good, beet salad good; but main courses just ok. I got Osso Buco and it was a good piece of meat, but the Mustard Jus was a bit overpowering and after awhile just dominated the dish. My wife got a ribeye and she couldn't eat it - too fatty. The most disappointing part was how they handled the fact my wife ordered a $40 steak, we politely said she didn't care for it, she left 3/4 of it on the plate, and yet it still appeared on the final bill. No offer of "what can we do? Would you like something else?" I don't normally ask for anything to be taken off the bill, but in this case, based on how they handled this, we did. Perhaps other items are better prepared, but we won't be back to find out.
We had to ask our waitress 3 times to bring us water & then the same for ice. Also, when desert came (awful), the waitress had not cleaned off the table from what was left of our meal including some food fallen off from a plate on the table & just plopped it down amongst the mess. I had to ask her to do so and she picked up a few glasses and left the rest of the mess. One of the worst waitresses ever! Also, although the view of the ocean and sunset was spectacular, the view from our table in front of us was a pile of lounge chairs thrown on top of each other. Ratatouille is normally cooked eggplant with squash. Their's was NOTHING like it. Barely a tiny bit of uncooked eggplant and a bunch of chopped up, uncooked little vegetables.
Cobalt was an unexpected pleasure. The food was excellent and after having a wonderful dinner went back for lunch before leaving Vero Beach. The food is well prepared, but not overdone. If you choose to sit outside at night, the lighting is a bit tricky. Although there were lamps available, they were either too bright or too dim. However, you cannot complain being right on the ocean.
