Cobalt Restaurant and Lounge - Vero Beach Hotel and Spa Ratings and Reviews
I booked a table on the terrace, but on arriving was told that reservations were not possible on the terrace. My friends were not happy, plus service was very slow, perhaps in retribution for our complaint. Although we have eaten breakfast, lunch, and dinner here several times, we find the staff increasingly arrogant.
I’m surprised the chef has not been thrown out. Even being generous about hotel being in a good challenged community doesn’t excuse the travesty of the meal.
My god it was just a Cobb salad. But what a salad. Over cooked dry chicken poorest quality greens too acidic dressing.
Spare yourself and try some army rations instead
Great menu options and unique tasty dishes!! i took my mom there for her birthday and it was quite an experience. The only problem we had was the waitstaff not coming back for a really long time and having to ask for my check twice before I finally received it. I also want sure if she was ever going to being the cake out to Mom. She did and it was absolutely scrumptious.
We ordered hamburgers. We waited an hour and the place was basically empty. As you would expect with 5 people the orders were a little different (well done, medium rare etc.) and they all came out the same - partially overcooked (to the point of crispy edges). I will not be back and I will not recommend.
This our favorite restaurant in Vero hands down and still is. This is why we went their on our anniversary. BUT.... On the open table reservation, I specifically selected "anniversary" and specifically requested, because you asked, that we not be seated near small children. We were, and when reminded of our request, we were told by the hostess that table was preparing to leave. They didn't and half way through the dinner, the baby became very restless and noisy, and did not stop. We asked the manager for our check and explained our situation. She apologized and hurried our check so that we can pay and escape the noise. Not what I had in mind, not what I expect at that price point.
Very unfortunate experience on Tuesday night. When we questioned whether 1 of our salads was dressed, the argumentative response of our waiter was astonishing. It got worse when 2 of our 3 entrees was served cold and we regret that our waiters response to the salad issue intimidated us into not complaining. This dinner was for a 60th birthday celebration which was totally ruined. We have always enjoyed our meals at cobalt over the years - this experience tells us that we will not be back anytime soon.
Loved the style, ambience and food, which made for a great brunch. The service could have been more attentive and it took a while to get seated (looked like they were a bit short-staffed), but the overall experience was very positive and it's a truly great location with excellent sea views.
WOW!!! What an amazing experience! Sip happy were found Cobalt on Open Table!! Sat oceanside with the crashing waves and breeze really making it nice and the restaurant is extremely nice. Our server, Kyle, was awesome... Very accommodating for our two kids! The food was incredible. The snapper that Kyle recommended, my wife loved!! Cannot say enough good things about Cobalt! Can't wait to visit Vero Beach again and come here!! Thanks for the experience
The restaurant was overall acceptable. The menu was limited but I found something I liked. It was cook nicely though served not quite as warm as I would like. The major flaw was their wine list. It was mediocre and decidedly overpriced, like as if we were in Manhattan. The wine by the glass list had just one noteworthy choice. I suspect that both lists were entirely from one distributor/supplier and composed of what they wanted to move.
Prospective clients, especially those staying in the hotel and assuming they could get a table should reserve in advance because the next night it was closed to the general population because they had sold it out to a private function. Regards,
Grouper under seasoned on a bed of small white potatoes - I was very disappointed in my dinner. There was only hanger steak on menu, no ribeye or strip or filet. Our server was attentive, bringing my husband his birthday dessert to go; Very tasty chocolate cake.
Overall, I will not return.
The food was very good. I had a Tuna Tartar Salad my wife the Crab Cake Salad. Both were very tasty and fresh. Our service was good albeit a little slow however that was partially do to the fact we were seated outside and the outside sitting oceanside is wonderful. There are not too many options with good food oceanside in Vero Beach, however for a lunch salad this is a great location to visit.
The food and service were great as always. The restaurant itself needs some work. The rain was coming into the restaurant and dripping on my husband's head and a giant palmetto bug thought he had reservations with the restaurant as well. We got married at the hotel and come to cobalt every year for our anniversary. This year was probably our least favorite overall experience, but of course we will be back next year not to ruin the tradition
First the server, Tom, was excellent. He anticipated our needs and was available without hovering. He checked in with our table many times.
When one person dropped their knife on the floor, he heard it hit the floor and brought a new one immediately, no request necessary. Clearly a well trained professional waiter.
The food was excellent overall. The breaded flounder and pork chops with beet salad were terrific. My boneless rib-eye was good. The fried corn was fabulous.
Overall a terrific experience.
Food was delicious. Service was great. Our Waitress Cathy was impeccable. One thing I do need to mention. We have been to this restaurant at least 8 times. Cathy was the first waitress to offer a complimentary Truffle Fries for lunch. She mentioned when booking through the web, they offer this for lunch or Dinner and Fruit for Breakfast. She said the reason for doing this is that Cobalt respects our time for reviewing the place after we eat, this was their thank you. I just wished they all did it. If you book through the web, please mention this. I will be back again in the fall. It's in my top 10 restaurants in Vero Beach
We were at Cobalt for Dinner , a few nights ago and wanted to try Lunch outside. Place is Gorgeous outside. Food was Delicious. Service was lacking. Either our waiter was too busy inside with other tables, or it was too hot for him to make some trips outside to see how we were. Especially when we saw a waitress constantly going in and and for a few tables. Looked like he did not want to be there. Totally different service from a few days ago
We were celebrating our daughters birthday. We go to fine dining a lot and this menu and location for our needs and wants.
The service on the other hand was probably one of the least levels I have seen. Our server was disinterested, annoyed, not available and short with us. The thing that put our family over the edge was how he handled my daughter's birthday. We put on the reservations the day prior that we were celebrating a birthday. The day of, in the afternoon I came by the restaurant to confirm we were celebrating a special birthday and asked what they do for that. They asked for her name and assured me we were going to get a complimentary dessert of her choice with a candle she can blow out and they would write 'happy birthday and her name" on the plate.
After our less than satisfactory dinner service experience, I was most excited about her reaction when she would see her dessert with her candle. My husband ordered the dessert while we stepped away. He once again asked for a candle and the server acknowledged. When we came back the dessert was plopped down in front of her-no candle, no name written- and the server goes to walk away. When we asked him about it. He said "oh there were no candles in the back," brushed us off and walked away. I asked him again a few moments later and once again he said "there is no more candles in the back I don't know who promised you that". No apologies, no care, no compassion. Extremely disappointed.
Food was fantastic service was extremely poor.
If you are looking for a place with wonderful food and horrible service this is the place for you.
