Absolutely fabulous. The poke tuna and fried green tomatoes are a must. The gin and elderberry cocktail was delicious. Great service, beautiful setting. You will not be disappointed
Having a meal at Colbalt is always a pleasure. This time I celebrated my birthday with my wife and two great friends. The service, selection and my birthday piece of flourless chocolate cake was tops. This night we were experiencing an electrical storm out at sea so looking thru the panoramic window out to the sea with the lightening storm was added entertainment. I have had dinner and Sunday brunch at Cobalt and it continues to be my "go to" place. I am a permanent resident of Vero Beach and I am proud to have Cobalt in my neighborhood.
Stunning view and a lovely meal! I have eaten in the bar area several times, but it was my first dinner at the restaurant. We had a table outside, and it was a perfect evening. :))
Great food, drinks and service. That evenings entertainment was delightful. Our friend Leti Metcalfe sang for President Bush and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it was good to see her again. Will definitely bring friends back to enjoy more of the same.
The food was delicious and the ocean view is beautiful - would absolutely recommend!
Was absolutely amazing. Service was some of the best I have ever had. I would recommend them to anyone. I will definitely be back.
Setting was beautiful . Food was excellent. Very small portions.
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary with Lunch at Cobalt. My wife's comments say it all:
"best green tea I've ever had!" "best flatbread I've ever had!" and "best kale salad I've ever had!" The view is full-on ocean and sky. While a bit pricey, not terribly so. Service friendly and competent but insufficient for the number of tables our waiter had to service.
Excellent lunch/brunch menu, very good food, astounding beach view from the porch. Sloppy, slow, inattentive service tarnished what was otherwise an excellent experience.
Excellent brunch always enjoyable
Make sure to specify if you want to eat outside before hand, or there might be a wait. Our only issue was the chairs inside where uncomfortable. Otherwise a great experience.
*Awesome service from Tom (our server) and Robert (Director of Food and Beverage) who kept checking on us. We love this place as well as our guests.
*I was a little disappointed when the restaurant receptionist advised me the earliest sitting for a party of 5 was 8:30 PM, I explained our Mothers were in their 90’s and that was too late and she said they were booked.
*Thank goodness I reached out to OpenTable and you got us a seating at 6:15 at a wonderful table. Thanks for your service.
Had a reservation, Been here many times, food delicious, beautiful waterfront setting, service was horrible - waited 10 minutes after being seated for a wine list, another 10 to receive menus, not up to our usual expectation for this restaurant- disappointed !
Fabulous view of the ocean. Service was outstanding and food was good. I had the Fried Green Tomato BLT and It was good; however, the fried green tomato did not dominate the sandwich (and I wish it had).
Food was good, service was great, music was head splitting.
Celebrated a lifelong friend’s birthday. Do you use cheese whiz?? One of our guests felt that way and you “lump” crab cakes were not lumpy and far to much well done crust. Might want to find a different supplier. Great flourless chocolate cake and happy bartender!
We really enjoyed brunch today. The server, Harry was very attentive and helped pace out our meal so that for a Sunday brunch we felt relaxed. Foodwise, the kitchen did a great job. For the table we ordered the smoked salmon platter as an appetizer - very tasy and well executed w/ appropriate condiments such as onion, capers, etc. I had the shrimp andouille benedict - delicious and so decadent. My husband had the lobster roll; my daughter the crabcake salad w/arugula and my 7 yr old gdaugther had the buttermilk pancake - all 3 were devoured and thought well prepared. Cobalt has brought back it's "game on" face. Glad they are back to their high standards. We'll be back.
Met friends in bar for a martini and had the hummus app - it was tasty and service in bar was good - my husband and I regrouped in main dining room - the server was good but not great - not attentive. The food, however was great. We had the special for appsl - fried soft shell crab served with a farro mixture - it was great and so tasty. for our main course we both had the bouillabaisse - served hot with a nice assortment of shrimp, lobster, clams and fish - light but succulent - Cobalt is back with a punch - foodwise still needs help in the server department.
Great Food, Great Service
Major disappointment! We were seated, waitress took our drink order & later food order. Drinks were served & she checked twice to see if the drinks were enjoyable. Food was served & waitress was not to be seen. No salt or pepper on table....finally in desperation, I took it from another table. The salt shaker was filthy with a coating of ketchup. With a half of my crab cake remaining, I finally was able to get the attention of the waitress & asked for lemon. She Never brought it. Finally, when she brought the check, it was the Wrong check. Waitress didn't return in a timely manner so we went to the front desk & received the right check. Unfortunately, I used the restroom which was appallingly dirty & not stocked. Told the women at the front desk about our experience & there was no response. Employees need a major lesson in customer service. Hotel guests were definitely treated differently than non hotel patrons.
Had a great time catching up with an old friend. Nice place to talk while dining. Good view. A bit noisy in the kitchen. Live music at the bar for viewing only, not much space for dancing. Had the steak and it was really good.
Terrible experience. I went on Open Table the day before to make a reservation. They only had 5:30pm or 8:30pm available. This usually means all the other reservations are taken so I expected the restaurant to be super busy when we got there. It was COMPLETELY DEAD. Why couldn't I make a reservation at a normal hour such as 6:30pm? About 30 minutes before we arrived it had rained, but was not raining anymore, the storm had passed. When we arrived the host told us it was going to rain again in the next 15 minutes so they weren't sitting outside (this is a BEACHSIDE restaurant...). We were there over an hour it never rained again and we were convinced they just didn't feel like drying the tables off. The menu is super limited, they only had one special. Very weird atmosphere we ended up just ordering appetizers and leaving to go to a different beach restaurant where we had a much better experience and didn't have to pay $16 for a small bowl of lobster mac and cheese with barely any lobster in it. I don't know how this place is going to survive...they need to get a new chef and manager.
We went on a Thursday night. 4 adults sat outside by the ocean - which was the highlight. There was no room for us to valet park, so we had to park far. The menu is limited, and expensive. Food was good, but not worth the $. The restroom needed attention badly. Disappointed for $360 for 4 of us.
Always go to lunch here. Love the food, view, staff is always friendly and helpful. excellent place to stay too. have stayed a week here and felt like i was at home but had the best of the very best. My fav is the cheeseburger with truffle fries. OMG so good. it taste like they make it with sirloin and the fries are to die for.
I like Cobalt for its lovely location. The food is good — not great, but good. The beet salad is divine, among the best I’ve had. My snapper dinner was perfectly cooked but overly salty (and I like salt).
Service was slow: we waited nearly an hour for our appetizer. Weird because the restaurant wasn't even crowded. Waiter comp'd our appetizer and bought us the fudge brownie sundae, which was delicious.
Bouillabaisse was delicious, smallish portion but grear flavor and my husband liked the red snapper. My 2 sons loved their homemade mac n cheese 'kid' meals.
Waited 15 minutes for an 8:15 reservation though lots of tables were free. Ate outside which was nice but too dark to see menu or food. They were out of table lamps. Overall good food and well meaning service but not a great experience for the cost.
Excellent service and food with a beautiful ocean view.
Beautiful spot and. attentive service... but the kale salad with shrimp was out of. A bag with tasteless dressing
We had a delicious Easter dinner out on the patio overlooking the ocean! The food and service was wonderful. We were able to take our time, enjoy our meal, and then spend time at the fire pit.
Dinner on the patio overlooking the ocean is wonderful! Food is good, not great. Only negative was the music: too loud and intrusive.
Loved it wait staff was wonderful food was also beautiful spot
We love Cobalt when we sit outside but not inside. Wish Cobalt would allow reservations for the terrace.
The cocktails are delicious. The salads and entrees were all fresh and flavorful. Our entrees portions were generous. The view can't be beat and the ocean in the background is delightful. The place is typically pricey in keeping with a hotel restaurant.
Food has really gone downhill since our last visit a year ago. We used to really enjoy this restaurant. Three out of four dinners were barely marginal. Dessert was fine. Price entirely too high to get barely marginal dinner
You are definitely paying for the view! Before dinner we grabbed a drink at the bar. After waiting for 10 minutes my husband had to interrupt the bartender to ask for a drink menu since we were never acknowledged. The appetizers were delicious however the entrees were disappointing. The quantity of food for the entree was underwhelming and the food lacked basic seasoning. While the servers were friendly they seemed in a rush. Twice they tried to remove dishes that we were still eating, without asking if we were finished.
Lunch at their Seaside Room was lovely, as usual. Beautiful ocean view and quiet! A great place to catch up with a friend.
Great atmosphere; real nice setting. Was not busy when we went but took awhile to get our food. Brought my wife there for her Birthday dinner. Ate outside on the patio and was awsome to eat out by the beach. The food was very expensive which we don’t mind as this was a special occasion and something we expected. However the food was not great and we were very disappointed. We had two appetizers which were not bad but definitely not worth the price. The cocktails were underwhelming as well. We both ordered the NY strip steak which came with fries but we were not offered any sides which we overlooked at the time we ordered and didn’t notice until our food came out. We paid $50 each for a steak that I’m not sure was even aged beef as it was not advertised on the menu but at that price point feel it should have been. Our server did give us a complementary chocolate cake since it was my wife’s birthday which was very nice. We both loved the beautiful setting but would not return nor recommend this place.
To be honest, we like Cobalt for the beautiful decor, setting of the Vero Beach Hotel and view of the ocean. However, the menu leaves a lot to be desired. Selections are not plentiful...and that can be okay, if what you have on the menu is outstanding. Four of us dined with Cobalt on a Saturday evening in March. One couple is local, one couple on vacation in Vero Beach. After selecting from a smallish menu, all of us were underwhelmed with our choices, especially for the price charged. The portion sizes were paltry, flavors underwhelming and in one case, unacceptable and sent back after one bite. Might I add, we are not "cheap eats" diners. All of us routinely eat at fine dining establishments and are not afraid to pay high prices. Cobalt has many neighbors with fine dining options all within a block or two. Prices at the others are similar or more, but the food amount, quantity and quality at Cobalt cannot match up. Perhaps being a hotel restaurant, makes Cobalt management think they have a captive audience, but return locals or return vacationers to the area, will stop returning. Also, when a reservation is made, only to arrive and find that people with no reservations have taken all the outside patio seating, it doesn't encourage people to try again. Although a beautiful location, I'm not sure we'll ever try Cobalt again when returning to Vero Beach.
