Wonderful setting but food less than satisfactory. Over cooked halibut and a very chewy filet. Probably best for a burger at lunch but not great for dinner.
They didn’t have my reservation
We did ask not to be rushed, but then service slowed to a crawl, and it wasn’t due to being over busy as the restaurant wasn’t crowded at all
They dessert menu wasn’t up to date
The dinner was nice. Carpaccio delicious
The wait staff was very pleasant and they did try to make up the dessert change by bringing a plate on the house
We really enjoy Cobalt. It is so nice to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful ocean view. The food is great and we were not rushed. So very relaxing!
We were visiting my mothe in Vero and stayed at the Kimpton. Cobalt took amazing care of us for our one dinner out!
You have to sit outside for dinner and listen to the waves, excellent. Then try the lobster mac and cheese. Best we ever had and loaded with lobster!!!!
Excellent food and ambiance.
Went for special breakfast. Found out it was only one item (eggs and sausage w/ muffin) Free coffee. Homemade muffin was very good.
Ambiance always great outside near ocean.
Cobalt is an upscale ocean front dining choice with a limited but quality menu and wonderful location. Staff is friendly and food is well prepared. It’s what you would expect for the location and price.
The waiter failed to explain the menu and to describe the featured dishes
Also the lentils were hard
First they forgot the order and bought ordinary fries not sweet potatoes, then when they bought them they were raw
Excellent foods, view, and service. Myself and my wife absolutely loved the lobster risotto!
A friend recommended it for a family get together. Loved it
Love the staff, food and ambience. Chef is very creative and staff is so Accommodating with outstanding service. One of my favorite restaurants in Florida
Food and service was excellent Perfect night for outside dining.
We enjoyed our anniversary celebration. It’s a beautiful place with great food and good service. The wine by the glass selection was excellent.
The food was excellent, as was our server. But it was WAY too cold in there, with air-conditioning blowing right on us. We were told by the server the temperature could not be adjusted! Other problem, the screeching of the chairs against the floor every time someone got up or moved the chair. Felt tabs on the bottom of each chair leg would do the trick!
Cobalt is our go to place in Vero Beach. Always great. Great service. View. Got it all
We had high hopes for a great meal at Cobalt. The atmosphere is very nice, view is amazing. Food was sub par at best. We started with the oysters which were very good and the best part of the meal. We also had the Calamari which was plain and bland. My husband had the Mahi with braised fennel and I had the poached Halibut, both were over cooked and dry. The Halibut was very bland even though it was in a ginger soy broth. We wanted to love the restaurant because of its atmosphere but sadly we did not.
We celebrated our anniversary there and were not disappointed except for the weather preventing us from dining outside. The atmosphere was great for such an event. The menu was not extensive but it was diverse.
I like to bring new customers to Cobalt for Dinner. My only complaint is they can be a little slow bringing g the food out.
My family and I recently moved to Vero. What a great find!!
Continues to be one our favorites in Vero Beach. Food, service, and ambiance are excellent!
From the moment we walked in the front door we felt welcome. The hostess wished us Happy Anniversary and when it came time to seat us asked our preference of one table versus another. Very accommodating. We came early to enjoy the view and the happy hour and found the bar very beautiful and sophisticated but a bit dimly lit. I realized once my eyes adjusted, it was because of the gorgeous view out of every window. Which is one of the two reasons we came to Cobalt in the first place.
The second reason was the chef. I should explain that I am a real foodie from San Francisco and have missed "good" food for years. So I had high hopes for this place.
The food was as amazing as I had hoped it would be. I had the carpaccio appetizer (which is one of my favorites) and the scallops. I have been so disappointed in the past when I ordered scallops but I gave it another shot and I am so glad I did! Absolutely to die for.
My husband had the Red Snapper, as per the waiters suggestion and he ate every bite and he is not easily pleased! We both enjoyed our time there and our meal immensely. Then at dessert time we opted not to have anything as we were content. But the kitchen sent out a gorgeous platter saying Happy Anniversary in chocolate and some strawberries! The perfect ending to that fabulous meal and a perfect evening.
We arrived early, and had good drinks at a very stylish bar, with a view of the ocean. We were then seated on an outdoor terrace, right at the edge of the beach, but elevated. Beautiful view. The service was very attentive. I had delicious scallops, from the regular menu, and my wife loved her risotto, a wonderful value from the early bird menu. I had requested a birthday desert with a candle, for my wife, when I made the reservation on Open Table, but the restaurant apparently forgot about that request. We ordered panna cotta instead, which we loved. Cobalt was a great experience, and we will be back.
The halibut, which was recommended by the server was terrible. Burnt tasting, the lentils were undercooked, and the sauce was mostly plain salty soy sauce. They did replace the dish but seemed not to believe that the dish was bad. Others at the table tasted it and unanimously agreed that it was bad. The other dishes were fine, but nothing really special. The setting was lovely - we had a table near the back and next to a window, which was also away from the loud music from the bar that filtered into the dining room. I would return there for happy hour and/or to hear music in the bar just for a drink and app or dessert, but not to the restaurant.
Vero’s best on Friday night!! Great folks and fun DJ!!
Cobalt is one of our favorite restaurants - you can not beat the view and the food; however, service is overall mediocre. Waiting for water, having our salad come out at the wrong time, waiting to have our wine served, waiting to get the check - all aggravations not necessary - Tuesday night - just not even that busy. The food delicious - I had the innovative beet cured gravlax app and my husband had the beef carpaccio - we both loved them. I had the filet and my husband had the halibut - again both creative presentations, served hot and so tasty.
Limited menu that only changes every 3-4 months. With such a limited menu, there is no reason not to change the menu weekly. We got three fish meals and a scallop meal. Each fish appeared to be prepared the same way (different fish) and there was no flavor. The broccoli was smoked so strongly that it was inedible. We had friends visiting from out-of-state, and both were disappointed in their meals, as was I. My wife got scallops and she said her meal was good. Our server did her best to make our fish-meals better, bringing out a sauce, but the sauce did not work.
We tried the early bird dinner and we were pleasantly surprised with the portion size for the price. Only three entrees: a fish, chicken, and fried shrimp in a Thai sauce. We wish there was a beef option. Salad was delicious and entrees were very good. Service and ambiance were excellent. $5.00 house wines and a $4.00 dessert were available. Would recommend you try it.
This visit was so much better than previous ones I've had. Service was much better, and we even received a plate of delicious fries as a t/y for making a reservation online. Great atmosphere for a business lunch with a visitor from the midwest US.
We all enjoyed our meal and view. Nice experience.
My husband and I enjoyed an excellent breakfast at Cobalt this past Sunday morning. Food was delicious, service was excellent and the view outstanding!! Celebrated life with a pitcher of mimosas!!
Outstanding the service and atmosphere was beyond what I expected.
Though my wife and I got the same meal (seafood), and the meal was excellent, the menu was quite limited in choices. The service was on the slow side, but perhaps it was because the restaurant is not as busy in the summer and perhaps there were less wait-staff. This was our first time to try the Cobalt Restaurant.
Great place for a business lunch! Super service and an amazing view!
Best Crab Cakes in Vero Beach
Food rivaled the phenomenal view
Amazing on every level! Service was truly exceptional and the meals were amazing!
If I could give a 0 I would. Food was extremely salty, received another dish and was luke warm. The manager came and told us the chef tried it and tossed it all out. The snapper dish gave us terrible heartburn and stomach issues. The food took forever. The inside climate was not cool. The only plus was the server was super apologetic and nice. This place was very pricey and food portions were super small. Failed Date night :(
Outdoor dining is a lovely place to eat looking out at the ocean! Dates wrapped in bacon were good, flounder good...
