The food is always amazing, had a shrimp taco, carnitas taco, and their classic ceviche appetizer. Mom had the white corn poblano soup, also one of my favorites. Mariellen had the shrimp salad. I was disappointed that my favorite dessert on their menu has been discontinued, the pineapple butter cake. Had an alternative with a type of pudding/gel and tangy fruit that was good. Waiter Dan was very attentive. The view is always amazing, even on a grey misty day like yesterday. We've celebrated many special occasions there, yesterday was my birthday.
Probably the best Mexican food we had while visiting San Diego. The harbor view is beautiful. Thanks for the wonderful service.
Love Coasterra. You definitely are paying a high price for the view, which is one of the best in San Diego. I ordered the shrimp and avocado salad which was $18.00. It was good, but with only 3 shrimp on the salad and a few slices of avocado, it really wasn't worth $18.00. The rest of the fam ordered regular entrees, steak, carnitas, etc. we had 2 kids that ordered off the kid's menu. The bill was over $200. Pretty pricey for not extremely fantastic food, but the view I could look at all day.
View great. Service excellent.
Awesome location and view. The food was delicious.. We are going back to same location.
I hated our waiter still gave him a $16 tip, he was just covering way too many tables and idk if it’s his fault but too many tables would def make a waiter overwhelmed.
And I’ve been going to coastera since I’ve been 16
Food and drinks are overpriced for what you get. The ahi tostada was blah, no flavor but highly priced. Just a ton of cabbage on top and that’s it. Not a good selection of entrees. The drinks were mediocre. We ordered a desert drink that contained Screwball whiskey but tasted nothing like it. I don’t mind paying for overpriced drink, but it better be good.
Everything was great until desert when we learned they no longer serve chocolate molten cake. Was the best in town. That was a huge disappointment.
Food quality has gone down significantly since COVID. Disappointed in all meals.
We love Coasterra! Wasn't our first time there and it won't be our last...looking forward to our next visit.
Great food, wonderful view and our server was amazing! Thank you marina!
We love this place but they have really scaled down the menu. Needs to be expanded. Especially lack of beef dishes.
Fantastic all around!
Wonderful time and great service and food as always
Fantastic view. Fresh well balanced flavors. Great service. Fantastic spot.
Excellent as always! This is our go to spot for out of town guests when they arrive and/or depart from SD. Melida (sp ?) is outstanding and has taken care of us for years!
The food was just as amazing as the view. Looking forward to dining for dinner next time.
Accommodated my request for a view, not that there’s a bad view in the joint, service was excellent and friendly, the cocktails and desserts were definitely a highlight but everything we ordered was well-presented and tasted great.
Wonderful food in one of San Diego's most scenic venues.
You cannot beat this restaurant. The view is amazing the food is fantastic and the service is top-notch. There twist on Mexican food it’s not only visually beautiful but very tasty. Don’t forget to try the butter cake.
I always love coming here. However the restaurant was busy and full which led to our server being rushed and in a hurry. The drinks and food were delicious.
Delightful afternoon! Good service, good food. Great View
Fabulous classy yet casual waterfront venue with fresh twist on Mexican flavors.
Excellent service, cuisine and the view of the city’s skyline is spectacular. 10/10
Beautiful view and excellent food!
Mel it’s was our server extraordinaire. Best service. Everyone enjoyed the food except doe my husband who ordered the chicken enchiladas. He didn’t like the sauce. Don’t fill up. The butter cake is amazing!!
Such a wonderful experience! We got there as soon as it opened, so it wasn’t busy at all. The service was among the best, the food was immaculate (definitely recommend getting the churros for dessert) & the ambience was amazing. Nothing beats that beautiful San Diego Skyline! Will definitely be coming back!
Every single time-Outstanding. Menu is interesting and location is superb.
This is my second time coming here, the first time I loved it and unfortunately last night it was horrible. We actually skipped ordering entrées after getting a ceviche that was extremely fishy and a tortilla soup that was just awful, I could make a better one at home. I’m not sure what happened, maybe Covid affected the chefs here.
Carne Asada was great, dessert drinks were really good as well. Kyle was a fantastic waiter!
Gorgeous setting and excellent food.
This is a beautiful setting and the service was very professional and friendly. The food was delicious and sophisticated. We had such a great time and the drinks were very tasty! I took my husband for a delayed birthday celebration and it was perfect!
Absolutely the best views in San Diego. Fantastic for lunch or dinner!
Awesome service and delicious food!
From the food to the view, everything was amazing! Have already shared with friends that the need to visit when in SD!!
At Coasterra, you can have the cool experience of dining with all kinds of boats and watercraft crusing by, as well as killer views of downtown SD, the Star of India, the County Administration Center (which lights up colorfully at night) and the Coronado Bay Bridge. Pretty cool, huh, and all with great food and drinks.
Do try the coconut margaritas- they are a taste sensation and not too sweet.
I do wish there were a few more vegan options, such as vegan tacos, etc.
This is a great place to bring out of town guests to show them San Diego.
A perfect place for our long awaited reunion with our son, a United States Marine, stationed at Camp Pendleton. Due to COVID we hadn’t seen him for 9 months—and he wanted great Mexican food—Coasterra did not disappoint! Our favorite restaurant in San Diego. Gorgeous panoramic view, excellent food and friendly, attentive service. The strawberry spritz was the most delicious cocktail I’ve ever had, ceviche was fresh and mouthwatering. Ample portions (we all took food back to hotel). Will always be a family favorite for the memorable experience with our special son!🇺🇸
