Food was outstanding!! Service is what you would suspect from a mainly seasonal help staff. It was very good but not real professional. Wine selection was amazing and if you like oysters this is a good place for you. The atmosphere was casual, nothing fancy. Highly recommend for a great meal.
Our server was excellent. She did a great job explaining the menu and directing us with a wine selection. She was also very attentive. Food was excellent as usual. Moderate noise level due to the fact that there was live music. I could have done without it.
Best seafood in town and oysters are perfect. So many to choose from and very knowledgeable about their seafood. We will be back!
It was ok, not great as it has been in the past. Really liked the dessert especially the whipped cream on the key lime tart it had lime zest in it making it the perfect topping for the dessert.
Great food and choices of wine!! Interesting setting.
My teenage grandson was a little uncomfortable with all the wine bottles at first, but the staff and the food won him over.
Food was a little bland and portions were small for the price.
Always a awesome meal.
Our food was outstanding, the server was friendly and jubilant. The atmosphere of the restaurant is right up a foodies ally.
Food seemed good, just lacked seasoning. I'm not one to reach for salt/pepper right away, definitely had to add it to my food. Environment was a nice, especially for wine enthusiasts. Hostess was not very warm, but thank goodness our server made us feel welcomed.
Seafood was excellent. They could never get the steak cooked properly
The food was absolutely amazing. We had the fish bites, oysters, filet mignon and crab cakes. We can back for lunch.
Our favourite place in the OBX. We visit from Scotland every year. Oysters, cold Sancerre, Shrimp and grits, swordfish and scallop pasta. We shared a rich creme brûlée between 3 as we were all stuffed! Very attentive and friendly service too. We will be back next time!
Really enjoy it at Coastal Provisions. Brittany is wonderful. We were disappointed she was outside Friday night. We also enjoy Alex. Amanda is super organized, communicative and friendly. Always a visit when in OBX.
Uncomfortable to be told length of ti.e to eat.
Excellent by any measure . . .
Food was very fresh, love oysters. Fresh grilled tuna, fixed perfectly
One of the nicer places on the Outer Banks. We appreciate the attentive service and enjoy the tasty dishes. The menu changes daily, so there is always something new to try. CP can be pricey . . .
Excellent service and tasty food in a fun environment . . .
One of my favorite dining experiences in the OBX.
We were at Coastal Provisions for a ten-person family lunch. Every year we come by on Wednesdays for oysters. The service was great and the food outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the various oysters being offered that day. Those who ordered other items were pleased with their sandwiches, salads, etc.
Delicious as always and service was amazing. Love the reasonable prices for a bottle of wine. Hope to come back soon.
Great concept but food lacked any taste and was expensive. Halibut and grouper are baked not pan-seared or grilled. No flavor at all. And it wasn’t just the fish, vegetables and potatoes lacked flavor. My daughter had chicken added to her small salad, they served it on a plate so small the chicken was falling on the table (not that there was a lot of chicken). The apps were the only highlights for the food- oyster rock and mini crab cakes were good. Service and ambiance were fine.
Great food and the outdoor seating is excellent.
Our server was wonderful and the restaurant was so accommodating of our large party that included 3 children. The food and drinks were outstanding! I can say with certainty we will be back for our next vacation.
Great selection of oysters! Very knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Our service was great. Food was ok. The breading on the shrimp lacked seasoning. Overall atmosphere was great.
One of our favorite places on the Outer Banks - food is always wonderful, service is great, and the beer and wine selection is outstanding.
I wish I remembered our waiter's name - he was fantastic. He knew quite a bit about wine, beer, and the menu, and I hope he is attending culinary school. :)
Provisions has become one of our favorite Outer Banks restaurants. Their chefs seem to know that when preparing fresh fish, the fish should do the talking. There is no need to try to overwhelm the palate with the accompanying sauces, herbs or spices or sides. In short, keeping it simple.
Service has always been excellent with friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. We had an oyster sampler appetizer that was to die for and they always have quite a few varieties of oyster available, if that is your thing.
They have an extensive variety of wines available by glass or bottle to pair with your meal or to take home with you.
Great food at a fantastic value. My wife and I will definitely be going back next time we are in Duck
Food is good, our server was excellent. For the portion size, meals are over priced.
We were there on Memorial Day. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice. We had our two young kids with us which became a bit of an issue since they don’t have a true kids menu. Shame on us for not checking ahead. But for the the adults it was not too much better. They were out of three main items on the menu. They have us an excuse that they only serve local fare and it was a busy weekend. They then offered a replacement that was not locally sourced. As mentioned we sat outside and that was not good. We spent more time waving away flies than we did eating. Once we were able to settle on something from the scarce menu and received our food, the flavor was very good. What we took most issue with was the obvious disdain the server had with us. Maybe we asked too many questions or maybe the kids, or maybe our disappointment of the missing items that we really wanted. In any case, the service e was poor. To add irony, they left the item we ordered but they were out of on the check. I did remind them i could not be charged since they were out. If you want great food, go and eat inside with no kids. Otherwise, Steamers is right next door and looked really fun.
We loved everything! Was recommended by a local friend. Even the garden salad and bread were exceptional we had the mahi-mahi and the scallops pasta entrees - best scallops ever! The key lime pie dessert alone is worth the trip!
Our local favorite. We’ve been there dozens of times for their great lunch sandwiches, crab cakes, threeB salad, 1/2 price oyster Wednesdays and dinner. The food is always excellent and the service attentive.
Great for oysters and local fish. Good wine values.
Excellent food and service. Wonderful restaurant BUT need to expand their Tequila offerings beyond Patron
This was a first time visit and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was delicious. We really liked the market atmosphere, it made the experience very comfortable and inviting. We will definitely visit again.
A wonderful experience, from hostess to dessert! Hated to take the last bite of the softshell crabs.
Food was very good and priced accordingly. Especially noteworthy: raw oyster selections and the crab cakes. We lucked into a really great waiter (Derek) on the evening we visited. Personable, knowledgeable and very helpful. Live music also was offered that night; pleasant, but it also added to the overall noise level. The only real disappointment for us was the seating which can be tight if you're dining as a couple. Adjoining tables are too close for any degree of privacy. Try to get a table for 4 or one of the high tops if you can. The spacing is better.
