One of my favorite dining experiences in the OBX.
We were at Coastal Provisions for a ten-person family lunch. Every year we come by on Wednesdays for oysters. The service was great and the food outstanding. Our waiter was knowledgeable about the various oysters being offered that day. Those who ordered other items were pleased with their sandwiches, salads, etc.
Delicious as always and service was amazing. Love the reasonable prices for a bottle of wine. Hope to come back soon.
Great concept but food lacked any taste and was expensive. Halibut and grouper are baked not pan-seared or grilled. No flavor at all. And it wasn’t just the fish, vegetables and potatoes lacked flavor. My daughter had chicken added to her small salad, they served it on a plate so small the chicken was falling on the table (not that there was a lot of chicken). The apps were the only highlights for the food- oyster rock and mini crab cakes were good. Service and ambiance were fine.
Great food and the outdoor seating is excellent.
Our server was wonderful and the restaurant was so accommodating of our large party that included 3 children. The food and drinks were outstanding! I can say with certainty we will be back for our next vacation.
Our service was great. Food was ok. The breading on the shrimp lacked seasoning. Overall atmosphere was great.
One of our favorite places on the Outer Banks - food is always wonderful, service is great, and the beer and wine selection is outstanding.
I wish I remembered our waiter's name - he was fantastic. He knew quite a bit about wine, beer, and the menu, and I hope he is attending culinary school. :)
Provisions has become one of our favorite Outer Banks restaurants. Their chefs seem to know that when preparing fresh fish, the fish should do the talking. There is no need to try to overwhelm the palate with the accompanying sauces, herbs or spices or sides. In short, keeping it simple.
Service has always been excellent with friendly, knowledgeable wait staff. We had an oyster sampler appetizer that was to die for and they always have quite a few varieties of oyster available, if that is your thing.
They have an extensive variety of wines available by glass or bottle to pair with your meal or to take home with you.
Great food at a fantastic value. My wife and I will definitely be going back next time we are in Duck
Food is good, our server was excellent. For the portion size, meals are over priced.
We were there on Memorial Day. We decided to sit outside since the weather was nice. We had our two young kids with us which became a bit of an issue since they don’t have a true kids menu. Shame on us for not checking ahead. But for the the adults it was not too much better. They were out of three main items on the menu. They have us an excuse that they only serve local fare and it was a busy weekend. They then offered a replacement that was not locally sourced. As mentioned we sat outside and that was not good. We spent more time waving away flies than we did eating. Once we were able to settle on something from the scarce menu and received our food, the flavor was very good. What we took most issue with was the obvious disdain the server had with us. Maybe we asked too many questions or maybe the kids, or maybe our disappointment of the missing items that we really wanted. In any case, the service e was poor. To add irony, they left the item we ordered but they were out of on the check. I did remind them i could not be charged since they were out. If you want great food, go and eat inside with no kids. Otherwise, Steamers is right next door and looked really fun.
We loved everything! Was recommended by a local friend. Even the garden salad and bread were exceptional we had the mahi-mahi and the scallops pasta entrees - best scallops ever! The key lime pie dessert alone is worth the trip!
Our local favorite. We’ve been there dozens of times for their great lunch sandwiches, crab cakes, threeB salad, 1/2 price oyster Wednesdays and dinner. The food is always excellent and the service attentive.
Great for oysters and local fish. Good wine values.
Excellent food and service. Wonderful restaurant BUT need to expand their Tequila offerings beyond Patron
This was a first time visit and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was delicious. We really liked the market atmosphere, it made the experience very comfortable and inviting. We will definitely visit again.
A wonderful experience, from hostess to dessert! Hated to take the last bite of the softshell crabs.
Food was very good and priced accordingly. Especially noteworthy: raw oyster selections and the crab cakes. We lucked into a really great waiter (Derek) on the evening we visited. Personable, knowledgeable and very helpful. Live music also was offered that night; pleasant, but it also added to the overall noise level. The only real disappointment for us was the seating which can be tight if you're dining as a couple. Adjoining tables are too close for any degree of privacy. Try to get a table for 4 or one of the high tops if you can. The spacing is better.
Always a great meal!
On vacation with friends who had never been to Coastal Provisions before. They enjoyed it as much as we did. Food was great as well as the service
Always a great experience. The staff are helpful and the food is carefully prepared, well presented and delicious. Everyone we have told to try Coastal Provisions has returned with rave reviews. Thank you for your standard of excellence.
Excellent service, outstanding food, overall great
Overall it was a nice experience. The only down side was the quality of food compared to their prices. My surf and turf was not worth $35.
We didn't know what to expect. We have been coming to OBX for 25 years and this was a new place for us. Wanting seafood, we saw that the reviews were good so we gave it a chance. It didn't disappoint. The Four Bread appetizer was outstanding, as were the steamed mussels and clams. Crabcakes were really tasty with 99% crab meat. The Scallop / Pasta dish was to die for. A must visit in the OBX.
We really liked the vibe of this restaurant. If seems like the kitchen has very high standards, so the food quality seemed very high. The hostess was not very helpful or friendly, but our server was amazing. He was a young guy, in great shape that used to work at the Sanderling in Duck. We sat outside, and the service was excellent. We had the Oysters Rockefeller, Oyster Po'Boy Tacos, Steamed Clams, and Kale Caprese.
We had a great lunch, and we will be back!
Wonderful restaurant! We were only at the Outer Banks for two days. We ate there both nights because it was so good# I highly recommend this restaurant!
We went to Coastal Provisions for the very first time. The food quality was outstanding. Our server, Alex, was outstanding , attending to our every wish. One of the best overall experiences in a restaurant in the Outer Banks of NC. *** rating!
The rockfish special was the best that I ever had. They also had an amazing wine list.
Comfortable atmosphere and fabulous oysters. Followed recommendations from server and had wonderful selection of oysters and wine. Also purchased take home OBX clam chowder, Hugh recommend as well!
Coastal Provision never disappoints. One of our favorite restaurants in the OBX.
The food was very good. We had grilled Wahoo that was cooked to perfection. Could not give 5 stars this time due to noise level and slower than normal service as there was a party of 15 that took priority.
Great service tonight as compared with some of our previous visits. Loved the server’s wine recommendation. We ordered the Rockfish and the Monkfish and shared them. Both were excellent.
We went for New Years. The food, wine, and service were amazing!!!!
Very memorable experience. 5pm New Years Eve dinner for 9 was perfect. Despite pre-fix dinner, they were gracious enough to adjust a menu item for us when I called in advance. As well as dealing with a tough allergy issue (garlic). The food was amazing, every one loved it. Service was great. We loved being able to pick a wine bottle from store after being helped on selection. Great wine. Also have full bar.
Absolutely awesome all around.
Good menu, lots of choices. Fresh raw oysters from throughout the east coast. Service was excellent. You can buy bottles of wine in their market and drink it at dinner without a corkage fee.
The best oysters we have ever had!! Everything was so very fresh! Service was excellent. Highly recommend, this is a gem!
Went for half-priced oyster Wednesday. Asked for complimentary bread but was charged for 4 bread. However, service was great that we overlooked it. Not the first time we have been charged for something we did not get. Will be more watchful when paying in the future.
