Superb always ! The most delicious , wonderfully prepared , delights in Virginia Beach !

Consistently good, always go when in Va Beach. Soft shell crabs were perfect. Waitstaff attentive but not in the way and very friendly despite mask restrictions. : )

We went to Coastal Grill to celebrate our anniversary, as we have done for many years. This was our first time dining out since the start of COVID-19 and we had a Great experience! The soft shell crabs were Outstanding as were the oysters on a half shell and the chocolate brownie dessert! We also liked the new dining space created during the virus shutdown and the open spacing it creates for diners. We look forward to dining at Coastal Grill again soon!

The atmosphere and the food were absolutely amazing. Our server wasn't the most attentive, we requested items that finally we had to ask another worker to provide. Understanding the COVID concerns, the wearing of the masks is problematic for them as well the customers. Maybe they could ask if the customer cares! Hard to hear!! We were asked to leave which is very concerning. If this is the new policy advise the guests when they arrive, not after they have paid good money to dine and happen to be black American in a primarily white American restaurant. If everyone is told this policy then be consistent regardless... We were not told until being asked to go!!

The service was great and so was the food. We went for a celebratory dinner and the staff was gracious and accommodating.

Always a favorite and the first restaurant we think of when we want to celebrate a special occasion.

A fabulous dining experience after months of Covid lockdown!!

From start to finish, an excellent experience. Valets were courteous, our Server Brian, was attentive and very knowledgeable about both the menu and wine list. Every bite of food was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The chef, Brad even came out to check on us.
You are missing out if you haven't been to Coastal or if its been a while since your last visit.

Beach getaway. Our server was amazing. Soft shell crabs and duck are our go to every time.

This was our first meal out in months and it was well worth the wait! Coastal Grill is one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach. Always fresh and amazingly good. Service was top-notch and our server made some excellent wine suggestions. Consistently good and we will return again and again.

Best restaurant in VA Beach the soft shell crabs are over the top

Food was excellent. Ambience was incredible. The price is as expected for the venue. Our server, Danielle, was great. She even had the soft shell crab order cut up so it is easier for us first timers to eat.
My only complaint is that we reserved a week ahead of time through Open Table, was there on time, and was offered the bar area for dining. There was no prenotification that it was going to be that way. We assumed we are in the dining room. The chairs were too high for my handicapped mother so we ended up waiting 30 minutes for another party to finish up. It almost seemed like we weren't expected to dine there. For an upscale dining, you expected more. Also, some restaurants who screw up a reservation, would offer free appetizers or dessert. Nothing but an apology from this sweet, young lady at the reception. Also, we were left standing up for the entire wait time - not offered to sit anywhere. I thought it was rude. If it wasn't for the good food and the excellent server, I would have put in a bad review.

My favorite place for a special dinner! I always get the salmon dinner! It’s always perfect!

Most of the waitresses and bartenders seemed new. Were still learning what they should do. Price on menu and specials board was different than what I was charged for softshell crabs. Dirty Martini seemed watery; had a lot of crushed ice (was not filtered out) and seemed to lack any olive juice or oil.

This restaurant is one of the best in Virginia Beach. My family and I have never been disappointed with this restaurant. They just added a beautiful addition that is very nice. Can’t wait to go back to Coastal Grill

Coastal Grill has the best soft-shell crabs of any restaurant in the area. My spouse also loves the duck entree. Service is always friendly and efficient.

Our first time at Coastal Grill. Our waiter was fantastic. He made some great recommendations (mozzarella and fried shrimp). The food was great and the restaurant followed the COVID-19 procedures. Highly recommend!

Great experience. Their newer dining room did not have the air conditioning working, but they moved us to the front room which was more comfortable. Rockfish was excellent as was the soft shell crab, tuna, and shrimp and grits. Server was great. Allowed us to take our time and enjoy apps and meal without feeling rushed. If you haven't visited Coastal Grill you need to.

Food was awesome, staff was awesome. Atmosphere was noisy and not very good for a date night. I mean if I’m going to pay that much for food I’d like to be able to have a conversation with my date and not keep wanting to interrupt the guests at the next table because their conversation about retrofitting a chefs kitchen in their summer home was totally off base as they had no idea what was needed in a chefs kitchen. Just not my cup of tea.

We had reservations and were seated immediately. Our server, Kohler, was a delight. She explained all the specials then went to fetch our beverages. As we pondered all our choices, we decided on some appetizers. as we had been here several times and were craving their steamed mussels, which my daughter and I split. Dad opted for their fabulous Caesar salad. The girls took Kohler's suggestion and tried a couple of their exotic cocktails as her description was too hard to resist. YUM!
A heaping bowl of hot mussels in a divine herb broth soon appeared, and we began rethinking our entree orders. Eyeing Dad's salad, we decided to split a Caesar and just get a couple appetizers. After picking out every last bit of mussels and sopping up nearly all the broth with the toasted baguette slices, the appetizer portions of fried shrimp scallops & shrimp were quite satisfying. Dad declared that his oysters were perfectly prepared. That left barely enough room for a 3-way split of birthday cake.

Excellent service and meal. We decided to celebrate a friends special Leap Year birthday tonight at Coastal and all was great as usual.
