Coastal Blue Ratings and Reviews
Pleasant surprise. We simply wanted a quick bite later in the evening. What was to be a light and uneventful meal, ended up being a delight. Food was fresh, ingredients good, and value was nice. Cheerful and bright space with good lighting and lots of windows to look toward the ocean. Server was excellent. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the bar after the meal. The bartender was personable and lots of fun to talk with. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable evening with delicious food and great service. For starters we had the caprese salad and fried calamari. For our main two of us had salmon, crab cakes and steak we were all very pleased. The chief even walks around checking to make sure everyone enjoyed their meal. Best food in the Crest. We have eaten here 7 times in two months. Martini's are also great. Atmosphere is delightful. After walked down by the beach bar "bungalow 7" and enjoyed the amazing view. Really love this find.
Fabulous dinner...excellent service start to finish to go along with the wonderful food and cocktail offerings. Can't beat the ocean view to top it all off. Well run restaurant with a great attentive staff and very special food. Not just another shore restaurant!
My overall experience was not good. We had reservations for 7 people outside. They put us at a table for 5, we finally move inside to a table big enough for 7 and we get drinks which end of having a bug in one of them. We order dinner and my daughters filet does not come because another server took it and gave it to a different table so her food came 5 minutes after ours. We had reservations for 7:15 and did not get our meal until 8:30. For 7 of us the bill came to $311 management did not offer to take anything off the bill. Bad management not worth the money
Great service and attention to detail. Very impressed with all of the staff from the moment you walk up to the hotel Icona. Food was wonderful and specially drinks were so good. Really enjoyed our dinner at coastal blue. The honey cake for dessert just topped off the evening.
We found this very disappointing considering Icona calls themselves a 4 star hotel. The lettuce in our salad tasted three days old and was wilted, the spicy tuna roll was actually tempura fried with hardly any tuna in it. The wait staff did not know the menu items when we inquired what some were and were pretty much inexperienced. The restaurant was also out of the special by 6:15 on a Wednesday night when it wasn't even crowded. While the decor is really nice, the lights are way too bright in there, no ambiance at all. All in all, this place is not worth the expensive price. We left and went to a more reliable local place for our actual dinner that had much better food.
Was not impressed with the service or the food. We went there for lunch and dinner (we stayed at the hotel and didn't want to go out because it was raining). For lunch they forgot the sauce for the crab cake we ordered. For dinner I asked for a salad, which was served with a quarter of a whole cucumber. We ordered fried calamari and it seemed like only half the order was served. We also ordered drinks. My husband ordered an American mule and it wasn't to his liking. He then switched to Cabernet and it was served very cold. We let the waiter know and he said the wines had been left outside in the cold and that's why they were so cold. I wasn't about to sent the food back ( I never trust what can come back).
Went for breakfast. Have has some menu changes since we were here last year. French toast was not as I remembered which is one of the reasons we came. 2 plain pieces of French toast...had to ask for syrup as this was not even brought to table. Husband's omlet was good. Overall, seems menu has been downgraded, food and service not as good. Maybe new owners/management hopefully they work out the Kinks
The service staff try but understaffed. The selections were few but I understand it's off season. The food was not worth recommending. Our last visit the food was really good but service was not good. Place has potential and not a lot of competition I think that's why it's still open. It also has the hotel guests.
Great choices for all diners. Great fresh fish. The filt mignon kebab was "like butter." The pork chop was mouthwateringly beautiful. It was tender and juicy. The Cesar salad was served "wedge" style with just the right amount of excellent dressing. The bread and seasoned butter was a nice addition. The cold water at the table was a nice treat for thirsty diners. Everything was fresh. The waitstaff professional and fun. Recommendations were spot on. Dining on the oceanfront patio was a lovely treat.
