We had made reservations expecting a full menu for dinner based on our previous experience. Was told they don’t start full menu until 15 May... District manager came in and the Chef came out and gave full menu choices right in front of us... soup and sandwiches for dinner was not what what we expected when we made reservations in advance... Food was good but overall experience was not what I expected. Bartender was very good and accommodating.
A great quick breakfast option (especially in off season) with wonderful service.
Friendly service and good food. Perfect for a relaxed dinner
We went for Easter brunch they said they did not have a reservation for me. When I told her I went on OpenTable she basically acted like I was lying and said they had shut down their Open Table service. I showed her my confirmation in fact I showed her two confirmations that OpenTable sent me. She told us she would try to see what she could do and sent us to the bar. She essentially acted like she was doing us a favor We sat there for over 20 minutes and looked in empty table that apparently was going to be use for a future party of 12 and got up and left
My husband and I love Coastal Blue .. the place is amazing, service was wonderful and the food was delicious. We will be visiting again and again !!
They were training new staff so service was a little slow. Food was okay.
Coastal Blue is a vibrant environment offering exceptional service, great menu and spectacular view for any dining event. Ours was a special celebration for a dear friend in need of sunshine and socializing. Coastal Blue's staff exceeded all exceptions to deliver an outstanding experience- accommodating unexpected increase in guests, shift is dining time and extending the serving hours for us, and delivering special menu items. The venue and staff is 5-star!
We were there while they were still promoting their Valentine’s Day special. 3 course meal with a glass of wine or beer for 45$. Everything was delicious! Lobster bisque was some of the best we have ever had. My fillet was cooked perfectly and my husbands swordfish was huge and also perfectly prepared. A warm lava cake finished off our meal. We left full and very happy! Will definitely go back again.
Very nice meal and very pleasant service
Pleasant surprise. We simply wanted a quick bite later in the evening. What was to be a light and uneventful meal, ended up being a delight. Food was fresh, ingredients good, and value was nice. Cheerful and bright space with good lighting and lots of windows to look toward the ocean. Server was excellent. She was friendly and knowledgeable. We went to the bar after the meal. The bartender was personable and lots of fun to talk with. Highly recommend.
Very enjoyable evening with delicious food and great service. For starters we had the caprese salad and fried calamari. For our main two of us had salmon, crab cakes and steak we were all very pleased. The chief even walks around checking to make sure everyone enjoyed their meal. Best food in the Crest. We have eaten here 7 times in two months. Martini's are also great. Atmosphere is delightful. After walked down by the beach bar "bungalow 7" and enjoyed the amazing view. Really love this find.
I was really expecting more from this place. I understand it was off season, and probably running with a skeleton crew, but it just really was not good. Food was blah, server was practically a ghost. And the prices were expensive for what it is. Should have stayed home and cooked!
We went off-season so it was quiet and relaxed. Nice, modern décor and out of the touristy crowds in Cape May which is only minutes away. Service was very cordial and on top of things. Nicely presented food and moderate prices.
My husband and I had a very lovely late breakfast here. The meal was delicious and the server was very friendly, even served us complimentary mimosas as we were celebrating our anniversary. I'd definitely return.
A great Tuesday night for my husband and I in the company of our daughter, son-in-law and two year old grandson. He loved his cheeseburger and "mootched" some couscous and salmon from his Mom-Mom.
Truly enjoyable. Ocean view, great food. Laura, our server was fun, friendly and efficient.
Fabulous dinner...excellent service start to finish to go along with the wonderful food and cocktail offerings. Can't beat the ocean view to top it all off. Well run restaurant with a great attentive staff and very special food. Not just another shore restaurant!
Coastal Blue was right near the water -- we had an outdoor table and the night was great -- food was good and the server was attentive.
We ate outside. Laid back atmosphere with a more upscale menu. Scallops, Short ribs, and burger were all liked.
First night staying at Icona Resort at Diamond Beach and dinner was fabulous- I had the monk fish special with lobster risotto and the dish was perfection!
Food was exceptional! Our server was very friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend to others. One tip though if you want reservations call don't use opentable. It was clear we could have come much earlier than opentable was giving us options for.
Our new favorite spot. Terrific food and excellent service. Tilefish was great. Tuna was perfect.
Thad a nite cap at the bungalow 7. Wow- it's the best beach bar around.
Was a first time. Heading back on Saturday with a group of friends.
We always sit outside which is definitley more casual but the inside decor is gorgeous. Food always great and it's never too crowded that you don't have to wait long.
My overall experience was not good. We had reservations for 7 people outside. They put us at a table for 5, we finally move inside to a table big enough for 7 and we get drinks which end of having a bug in one of them. We order dinner and my daughters filet does not come because another server took it and gave it to a different table so her food came 5 minutes after ours. We had reservations for 7:15 and did not get our meal until 8:30. For 7 of us the bill came to $311 management did not offer to take anything off the bill. Bad management not worth the money
We ate outside this time which was more elegant than indoors but the service was a bit lacking as it didn't appear anyone knew who was supposed to be managing which tables. Food was good but pricey for what it was.
Great service and attention to detail. Very impressed with all of the staff from the moment you walk up to the hotel Icona. Food was wonderful and specially drinks were so good. Really enjoyed our dinner at coastal blue. The honey cake for dessert just topped off the evening.
7:30 reservation. 8:45 still not seated. 9:00 seated. 9:20 server comes to table. 3 out of 4 appetizers were not available. 9:21 we walked out. Waste of a night and babysitter
Horrible service and NYC prices...wake up waiter! Would not go again.
We found this very disappointing considering Icona calls themselves a 4 star hotel. The lettuce in our salad tasted three days old and was wilted, the spicy tuna roll was actually tempura fried with hardly any tuna in it. The wait staff did not know the menu items when we inquired what some were and were pretty much inexperienced. The restaurant was also out of the special by 6:15 on a Wednesday night when it wasn't even crowded. While the decor is really nice, the lights are way too bright in there, no ambiance at all. All in all, this place is not worth the expensive price. We left and went to a more reliable local place for our actual dinner that had much better food.
Great atmosphere and food. Afterwards go on the beach and have a drink at their Beach Bar great place for down the shore.
Great experience and a certain stop whenever we are in town.
Was not impressed with the service or the food. We went there for lunch and dinner (we stayed at the hotel and didn't want to go out because it was raining). For lunch they forgot the sauce for the crab cake we ordered. For dinner I asked for a salad, which was served with a quarter of a whole cucumber. We ordered fried calamari and it seemed like only half the order was served. We also ordered drinks. My husband ordered an American mule and it wasn't to his liking. He then switched to Cabernet and it was served very cold. We let the waiter know and he said the wines had been left outside in the cold and that's why they were so cold. I wasn't about to sent the food back ( I never trust what can come back).
Food was good. Somehow we never got bread when all the other tables did. We made reservations but people I guess they knew got seated before us even though their reservations were later than ours and we had arrived first
Went for breakfast. Have has some menu changes since we were here last year. French toast was not as I remembered which is one of the reasons we came. 2 plain pieces of French toast...had to ask for syrup as this was not even brought to table. Husband's omlet was good. Overall, seems menu has been downgraded, food and service not as good. Maybe new owners/management hopefully they work out the Kinks
Very fresh and delicious food with good friendly service. Nice open out door seating area. I would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Fabulous dirty martinis with blue cheese stuffed olives!
Great food at the shore. Nice ambience. Friendly service. Good cocktails.
The service staff try but understaffed. The selections were few but I understand it's off season. The food was not worth recommending. Our last visit the food was really good but service was not good. Place has potential and not a lot of competition I think that's why it's still open. It also has the hotel guests.
Was closed. Never should have allowed us to make reservation and waste our party's time and gas.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was not open and we were never notified! We had brought a guest and were quite embarrassed and then had to find another place for dinner.
We are disappointed that we have not heard from the restaurant or open table. To date.
