3rd time dining at Coast and we have been very pleased with the food, location and service. Our waiter was Brian and he was very helpful with menu and drink choices and took very good care of us. I would recommend Coast for any dining needs, lunch dinner, drink (I can personally highly recommend the frozen Mudslide-YUM) Go on a sunny day and sit on the patio and enjoy the view of the ocean!

My wife and I met some friends here on a quick trip to Los Angeles. The wait staff was friendly and efficient. The menu and food was fantastic. I'll likely go back the next time we visit.

Not sure if it was an off day for the server but he just did not seem very accommodating. Both my client and myself asked for a black napkin because we wear black and he without hesitation said no. When we asked him if he could look he with hesitation went looking for one. This is a restaurant hotel and they don’t have one black napkin? He finally came back with a light tan stripped napkin not happy looking very annoyed. For a $100 lunch I️ would have expected better service.

Coast is a fun, casual, beachy alternative to the somewhat staid upstairs bar at Shutters. The decor is white overall, with splashes of color and the beach scene can't be beat, especially at sunset. The menu is great, lots of good choices. The dishes are well executed and the waitstaff can help guide you through the menu if desired.

Our server James was wonderful. The view was worth the lunch price. Parking a tad too pricey though. Great lunch spot!

First they didn't find my reservation. Then, they took my guests to a different table. Good thing that Messenger worked. After that they billed us before we asked. In middle of all these happening, a disturbing alarm noise kept ringing and ringing. So everything went against enjoying such a beautiful place and environment 😣😣

Nice patio lunch. Ambiance was perfect.
The food, not so much. I ordered the Crab Louis. The crab had no taste. The dressing was not a Louie dressing but some strange bright yellow mustardy dressing that ruined the whole salad.
The guacamole had no taste either and was a green dip....no chunks of avocado. Salsa tomatoes had a strange taste. I am not sure I would go back for the food. I know the bloody marys are good. I will stick to those.

What a wonderful experience. I had family in town and they wanted to eat on the beach and this was the perfect place. The staff followed instructions and gave us the best seat in the place. They were extremely accommodating.

This is one of my favorite places in LA. My first choice when I want something low key by the beach. Beautiful outdoor patio and great service. The food is getting a little more upscale/expensive than I would like these days, but I still love it.

It's very odd not have a towel over the table or at least sets under the plates ...
Should not take the plates without everyone stops the meal.

I was excited to visit Coast again after not eating there for awhile. I was so disappointed to see that the $23.00 Thai chicken salad I ordered had hardly any chicken, and had no other ingredients than lettuce, cabbage and carrots. It was definitely not worth that price, nor did it reflect the fresh, innovative cuisine I had come to expect. My friend had the avocado toast for $17.00. She got two pieces of just ok sourdough bread, with sliced avocado and chopped tomatoes. Again, not very tasty, and for the price, it was ridiculous! I felt very taken advantage of. I never mind paying top dollar for a great meal. However, this was far below what I had come to expect at this restaurant. I will not be returning, sadly.

We used to come to coast every weekend as a family. However, last year my 4 year old was poisoned by a hot dog he ate there. I tried to follow up with the manager but had no response despite calling repeatedly. I was shocked by the lack of responsibility taken.
Two nights ago we decided to try it again and took my parents there. They had mussels and shockingly within 8 hours both were so badly sick.
I'm afraid I will never go back. Restaurants have a responsibility to run a clean, hygienic establishment especially charging the prices Coast charge and Coast failed in that responsibility.

Nice place but I believe thirty dollars for a salad is expensive. I realize the restaurant is on the beach next to the ocean and you are in part paying for the location, but the service and quality of food outweighs the price. I will be back nonetheless.

My son and I went there for my birthday brunch as we were visiting LA for a day trip while attending a trade show in Las Vegas. It was a good contrast to the desert and we truly enjoyed the ocean view and vibrant Southern California beach scenes while having very clean, fresh, and delicious meal. The service was also excellent and very professional.

We just had a delicious meal at Coast. Caesar salad and steak. Good size portions and yummy. We enjoy Coast for more casual dining and One Pico upstairs for more formal dinners.

The restaurant and environment are great, as is the beach side location.

The food was okay, but pricey, the lobster roll in particular shouldn't qualify as a main course it is too small and expensive for what you get.

Had eaten here often years ago and the experience was always pleasant and the food good. This past dining experience was just ok. Decent flavor to the menu items but not as good as before so now overpriced for what you get and service was just ok - for the price and hotel reputation would like to see a little more focus on service staff so they appear to enjoy their job and customers.

Amir was our most amazing waiter. We go to Coast a lot as we live near by in the summers...we always love it, but honestly Amir, should be waiter of the year, he's amazing, and way way way too kind, polite, thoughtful to be a waiter. He was humble, gracious and anticipated very well all evening.

Bartender treated my wife and I very rudely initially. Older couple sat next to us and he engaged them very differently. Asked if we were staying at the hotel. He said if not we would have to provide a credit card. Never asked the couple next to us. They suggested it on there own. He only became nice after we were extremely kind to him. Left him a 20% tip with a note kindly requesting that he consider being nicer. Nice hotel but glad we didn't stay. We like nice people and good service for all customers.

I loved Coast Restaurant! The food was amazing and the waitress extremely nice. They prepared the lobster roll as a starter for us on 2 plates without extra cost. Definitely try their Pasta on the patio on Tuesdays - it's mouthwatering!
