As I was driving to work in L.A., two Spanish radio station DJ’s (KLOVE) were raving about Shutters on the Beach. I looked it up, and sure enough, I discovered “Coast.”
I was invited to speak a CSU Dominguez Hills, so I drove to Carson, from Lancaster, and then to Santa Monica.
The food at Coast was magnificently fresh and delicious. My wife loved it, so I told my brother about it. We will be visiting soon with his fiancé who lives by the Grove.
The beach looked beautiful from our vantage point, but Santa Monica, LA County and the State CA leadership needs to clean up the beach. It’s to beautiful to be dirty and smelling.
Meeting cousins only see about every 5 years.
Wonderful ambiance, delightful service and very good food
Fabulous setting on the beach. No one rushed us.
Wonderful restaurant even though it's in a very special hotel
Vittorio the chef of the hotel will make you anything you want
Wait staff is very nice
It just a lovely dining experience
A friend from London was here and she loved it and said thank you for taking me to this
I take all my friends from Europe here when they are in town.
Great dinner with a great view. The staff was very pleasant and friendly. Salads tasted amazing!
We have been here many times and love it. We had a great service and good food. Prices are a little high but it’s worth it.
Great views, great easy going staff.
The view is outstanding as was our server, James. Great ambiance, great food, great service!
This is a gem on the beach. Food and service were spectacular. If your price sensitive try and suspend your sensitivity and realize you have to pay for the location
One of my favorite places. On earth. Can’t beat Shutters on the Beach for amazing sunset, outdoor dining and excellent service. The food is pretty good too.
Restaurant was very nice, food and service was great.
Air Con, freezing!!
Noise from other tables was loud and children running around. In other words, don’t expect a quiet, intimate dinner
Very poor food quality
We enjoyed brunch at Coast on the charming outdoor enclosed patio and were impressed by the freshness of the king salmon and inventiveness of its traditional brunch options. Upon entering the restaurant, we saw four fresh layer cakes beckoning us to leave room for dessert. Ultimately, we chose the coconut pineapple layer cake to end our meal. It was reminiscent of an old fashioned grandmother baked cake and was so memorable, we came back the next day for happy hour to try the chocolate one, which was equally delicious and incredibly balanced. We paired it with the happy hour Barbera red wine for a decadent treat. Coast is a true gem and all the staff make you feel welcome!
