Fantastic food. Cerviche and fish and chips in particular. Were outstanding!
The service, view and vibe at Coast is excellent. We really enjoyed our time there. The food was above average, however, I think the prices are a bit high for what you get. But we still enjoyed. xoxo
Whenever I’m in Santa Monica I always love having lunch at Coast.
Lovely and relaxing. Fantastic service and the food was delicious.
We came here for lunch on a Sunday and it was lively and fun! Great location on the beach. Yummy food and outstanding service. Our waitress was always checking on us to make sure we were happy. Prices are a bit high but this is Santa Monica on the beach. Location is close enough to take a short walk to the pier. We enjoyed ourselves and will be back.
Great, casual dining place. Excellent service and good food. Hard not to have a great time.
Always wonderful !!
Beach side dining
Food was decent to subpar. Ordered a chicken caesar where the "grilled" chicken looked like it had been frozen and reheated creating a nice rubbery texture. Romain lettuce was stale.
They ran out of 2 types of rose wine and it was only 12:30 p.m.
Hostess said she would come get us when our table was ready. She forgot.
Valet gets completed jammed up when busy.
Mediocre food and service and way overpriced, avoid this place for dinner.
An enchanting spot, unpretentious yet luxurious, relaxed and beachy; it seems to embody the whole spirit of Southern California!
Except for the server forgetting to bring whipped cream for one of our party’s delectable Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, it was a wonderful meal.
Lovely ambiance sitting in sun soaked luxury looking out at the ocean. Food & service excellent!
The service was neither good nor bad. The waiter was nice but took a long time to get our order started and very rarely visited the table to check on us. I got the wagyu burger and it wasn’t good. I expected better from the kind of meat and the beef was dry. My boyfriend got the chicken which was quite tender and delicious. I probably won’t be going back there. I just was not impressed or very satisfied.
A wonderful quiet, relaxing and luxurious dining experience right off of Santa Monica Beach, but removed from the hustle and bustle if the pier.
Service was a crisis but we had so much fun it was excusable. Wouldn’t go there for anything more than a casual get-together.
Usually good easy meal with a nice view of Santa Monica beach. But seemed understaffed tonight to start. The calamari was like rubber for app. Ordered fish & chips which isn’t something special, but looked like store bought fish sticks from frozen food section. What happen to the real breaded fish I’ve had in the past. Usually satisfied but this meal may make me think twice about going there again. Too many other great hotel/restaurants in that area.
Our waiter Jesse was awesome. He was easy and helpful. Made the experience.
Really great food and service. Loved sitting on their patio, watching the sunset, and looking at the ocean. Great seafood too!! Recommend the ceviche and sword fish. The calamari and burgers looked amazing at the table next to me!
Great food service and view
Great food, service and atmosphere. Very coastal feel and wait staff was super friendly and helpful.
I was with a group and my server completely forgot to input my order. When my other guests got served, that’s when the team realized their mistake so my meal was haphazardly rushed together. I didn’t want to be eating alone but that’s basically what ended up happening. We still had to pay for my meal which I thought spoke to the level of customer service this restaurant offered. Ambiance is likely enjoyable during brunch, going for dinner was the wrong move. Food is subpar for the price paid— overall a disappointing experience. I can’t recommend this restaurant as I’m sure there are others nearby that would provide you with better service and food.
Coast is a lovely restaurant in a fun location.....but that comes with a downside - quite busy/a bit noisy.....and $20 valet fee, despite the validation by the restaurant. That is probably standard for California, but we were visiting from out of state. I would drop in again, but perhaps on a weekday when not so crowded. Fun to dine and then take a walk on the "boardwalk".

It was a very windy day so there was quite a breeze in the restaurant. We started with clam chowder (good) and the guacamole and chips (also good). For entrees, one had lobster roll and loved it. Two shared a burger and one person liked it and the other thought it was undercooked. We asked for medium well.
Waiter was excellent.
location very nice. Great service. Food was OK. We went on the weekend, so perhaps menu was limited
Everything was great with our breakfast. That said, next time we will order cappucinos in place of regular coffee. We expected better coffee. We also experience similar, watered down coffee at hotel next door @ Casa Del Mar. With all the great coffee movements in LA, Coast should be better at rising to the expectations of locals...not just their guests.
Poor service considering it wasn’t crowded. Charged for a piece of birthday cake that we did not order. Got food order wrong.
Our server was wonderful, and I have always enjoyed Coast. But the young man at the reservation area was immediately unhelpful: I said I'd made a reservation for 5 pm (this was Friday) and he barely glanced at the reservation sheet before insisting my name wasn't on it. As it turns out, my name was on the sheet, and I can only conclude he was resistant because we were two older women (I had made the res on my husband's phone). The young man didn't smile, didn't appear in any way willing to be helpful or even believe I had a reservation. My friend and I are both women in our 50's/60's - attractive, fit, and local Venice/Santa Monica residents. The guy acted as if we were lining up at some exclusive dance club in New York and not club material. RUDE and snobby. He really shouldn't be working at Coast.
About as good as it gets for a breakfast spot. Right on the beach, great food, great service. Have the Lemon Ricotta pancakes!
Expensive but beautiful. Food was very good. Reservations were cooperative
Even thought it was a bit stormy outside - inside was light and cheerful. Great ambience. There were three of us, we all had something different - all excellent. The service was outstanding!
Very fresh food, even towards the end of the night!
one of the few quiet restaurants left in Santa Monica, the location and ambiance are superb.
After coming for lunch many times over the last several years, I still am very happy with all aspects of Coast. Service is always exceptional, food is always exceptional, and ambiance is peerless. Thanks to all who make this happen.
Amazing location. Tasty food but tiny portion for the price. My husband ordered a Caesar salad, and he received two romaine leaves with some cheese slices.
I always love the atmosphere. The food was off this Sat. night. The calamari arrived cold. The seafood platter mussels were weird tasting. I had the fish of the day. It tasted muddy. The desserts were good.
waiter didn't seem to care./remember my food allergies
Such a lovely setting. James our server was fantastic. Good was sooooo good. Loved every minute !!!
Great breakfast cafe .... with amazing views of the beach....service is world class and quality of the breakfast perfect
Wonderful waiter! He made New Year’s Eve special!
